I think the trust in the system is absolutely broken. Yes. I think allowing it to run based on the premise that every acting party involved will act on good faith in accordance with the rules that we have established, yeah that's pretty much broken too.

I think that what we need at this point is a much needed restructuring and modernization to the rules and regulations within our Constitution. It's not a holy text, nor is it merely a set of guidelines. It's a document that's meant to be updated to the times. We need to look at the articles more closely, discuss how to establish a better balance of power with far more robust checks in place and a means in which politicization can't just steamroll through it. We also need to examine the relevancy of the Electoral College, making it so that Presidents can't be decided via a few swing states; rather, they split the EC votes based on districts or percentage of the state's popular vote, or simply remove it altogether and go nationally popular.

I don't think we've reached our last chance yet, but we can't just go on after this like nothing happened, and instill the same trust in the system like before, acting as if another bad player can't just roll in and do the same things.

You’re not wrong. I have a lot of fear and zero trust around a new constitutional convention happening today with currently elected legislators both at state and federal levels. Rewinding the clock 10 years in terms of politics & discourse sounds about the best possible scenario. Letting the entire constitution be overhauled with maga congressional representatives involved in the process just sounds like a way to make things far, far worse.

Considering the current Dem party and the state of politics, I wouldn't be surprised if a new constitution ended up with amendments declaring our support of Israel and an entire section about Hasan Piker.

I think it is our last stand to hopefully have a sliver of a chance at a last stand. I don't see a lot of hope that they will fail if they go for the ultimate grab now though.
