They intend it to be. MAGA knows it is and loves it. The media is aware but cares about the ratings fascism gets them.

That was the old media. The landscape has changed recently. Now all media is owned by the same people and they're literally just forced to put out and focus on bullshit, regardless of what anyone wants. It's just all pure-propaganda now.

CNN, CNBC, FOX, Bloomberg... ahh I'm not going to list every single source of news in America. Just know that they're all compromised and there's no real source of independent news anymore. Your best bet is to get news sourced from outside of America, but even then too many of them are still treating America as legitimate. We're in a gray area right now where basically nothing can nor should be trusted until the world properly blackballs America. Until then, presume everything as a false manipulation is the safest call.

There is no news or media that is not fake anymore. Realistically? Probably not, but it's best to just assume that and treat is as reality for now.

The new media also cares about ratings - which are now clicks, likes, shares. And fascism gets them those as well. Trump is the gift that keeps giving.

The news I listen to are canvassing what the world will now look like without the US as a democratic global superpower. I don't know if you call that "blackballing" or not, but as you withdraw from the world stage, that will have an impact on the rest of us, and it is good to have discussion as to what that might look like.

The monetisation of news and information will be (or already has been) the downfall of society.

People claim to worry about the neutrality of news sources, they check who the owners are, who funds it etc. but if there is a profit to be made then there can be no neutrality. Who is gaining is far less important than the mere existence of financial gain. Honesty, integrity and neutrality will never be the priority when money can be made.

Unfortunately, state owned media isn’t the solution, their drive is power, not money, but still a bigger driver than integrity. Not-for-profit media outlets can’t compete because by their very nature they don’t have the resources to compete with the mega media corporations.

We also face a situation where media outlets can outsource some of their work. An outlet may want to publish something but knows it cannot be so blunt with its misinformation or bias, so they can use social media “influencers”, bots, etc. to do that work for them and maintain complete deniability.

I can’t see a way out of this.
