Corrected Headline: Greb Bovino was under investigation so he retired, records show.

u/mediocre_remnants North Carolina 4h ago

He's claiming he was pushed out and that "they" put a hit out on him and were trying to have him killed.

u/tuxedo_jack Texas 1h ago

Retiring or quitting a government job should not be a means to escape charges, and in any ideal world would result in intensified charges afterwards.

u/BroseppeVerdi Montana 3h ago

Fuckin' Greb.

Just like Trump's corrupt sister who retired as a judge before ethics investigations could take place. Convenient rules for these powerful people but not for the regular folk. One can hope Bovino isn't part of the protected class.

He's gonna be under a lot more investigations soon. That man is a terrorist, he needs to be held accountable, and I'm going to be up the ass of my local congress critters to make sure it happens.

u/cathercules 3h ago

you have a lot more faith in the Dems doing anything about this at all than I do, nothing will happen unless people get off their asses and vote in the primaries for candidates that are not bought and paid for

u/asbestoswasframed 3h ago

I don't want to spoil anything, but there is ZERO chance that anyone in this administration will ever see anything remotely passing for accountability.

u/Xullister 2h ago

Eh, I'm not big on surrender. I still see a system of checks and balances -- under fire and weaker than before, sure, but with a few levers left to pull. Congressional investigations are a big one. I'd bet a little digging would uncover a lot of shocking wrongdoing, and then we'll see what the cards look like.

Defeatist rhetoric. Preemptively giving up helps nobody but them.

u/asbestoswasframed 1h ago

I've been watching accountability for the right disappear since Iran-Contra.

There's nothing preemptive about my lack of faith in the American Justice system. It's been 40 years in the making.

I mean, your point is reasonable and supported by precedent, but one of the many steps in making the past into the future is having people grudgingly accept that that's just how it is.

It ain't, though; we've overcome larger and more systemic problems in the past somehow, and I believe we can do it again.

Dude literally claims here that a CBP Commissioner targeted him with investigations to "kill off a rival" and sabotage the mass deportation campaign. The entire movement is built on paranoia and conspiracy theories

Circle of Evil reenactment.

The entire movement is built on paranoia and conspiracy theories

This describes every political movement motivated from the right.

There's a lot to get after him for, but most clearly he lied under oath in two different federal circuits to the point that the judges themselves called him not credible in their final orders.

u/freexanarchy 4h ago

Imagine a bank robber could avoid charges by retiring

u/phosdick 3h ago

Word has it that that Bovino thug is holed up somewhere in North Carolina... I'll be that our stellar Attorney General, Jeff Jackson, could help bring him in for further investigation and interrogation...

Peep this dork’s “motivational pep talks” before they go into a town and tear innocent people from their lives. He is a subhuman piece of pond scum.

That photo....is that a Hitler salute? Musk did a 3/4 salute. This looks like the real thing.

u/Positive_Zucchini_28 3h ago

musk did 2 full Nazi salutes

u/SpleenBender Illinois 2h ago

Nope, cruskt did TWO goddamned nazi salutes. Clear as day.

u/InjuredGods 4h ago

In the still photo it comes off as a Hitler Salute but in the actual video recording of him leaving that courthouse he's doing a bunch of stupid hand motions to his crew of BPD officers signalling them to roll out. Absolute theatrics.
