Ed Markey surviving two primary challenges that boiled down to “he’s old and I’m not,” goes to show that, for one, the age issue doesn’t affect incumbents who are still doing their jobs, and also that, if you’re going to hit on the age issue in a primary, you need some actual policy contrast to back that up. You can’t just proclaim yourself the new generation of the Democratic Party solely because the other guy’s 80 years old.

I think Markey’s gonna win the senate nomination, but most of the other incumbents will lose

People are angry with the Democratic Party’s lack of attempts to stop the current administration and generally seem tired of having too many old people in the government
