The Kirby was my first, the acrylic markers I have may be too thick? Got them at hobby lobby, idk if I’m my hand just isn’t steady enough I don’t have much experience with markers at all but the eyes came out pretty bad. He also cracked. The second was the cake, was trying to replicate a cake from old school RuneScape lol, didnt mix the regular clay and liquid clay well, white part on the top cracked even though I conditioned well. Then last night made the little brownie stuff and felt happier with these but the white plate still cracked. Was it to thin maybe? I swear I’m conditioning. I am waiting for a pasta machine to come in hopefully that helps. So yea basically any tips or feedback would be great, I’m working really hard on not letting my perfectionism and self criticism take over this hobby because I’m really enjoying it so far! The first picture (the forager) was done by following a Cnotbusch class on YouTube. He has several classes and I highly recommend them.

The princess has a peg leg after having a lot of trouble keeping that foot from breaking lol.

If you’re on here a lot you’ve probably seen my “honey bunnies” before. I was pretty happy with how this one came out.

The dragon is a current project. It’s a character called “worm” from my kids favorite book series. I’m hoping to get put him on top of a light diffuser and use him as a night light!

I am planning to make a jackfruit vase. The texture on a jackfruit is many iteegular Pentagons with Spikes. Any ideas or suggestions about how i could potentially create this texture the easiest way possible? Thank you in advance

I made a star, and it was a bit goofy, but it got the idea across, so I turned that into a mold and then tweaked them to be a bit more "starry" I also found a smaller star bead and did the same thing, then I put a thin layer of iridescent eye shadow on them. The metallic purple is also nice but I think I prefer the iridescence. The cream ones glow and I just think they are adorable

I’ve done little trinkets here and there, so when a a bet came up where loser had to make the winner a trophy and I lost - I knew what my medium would be. I decided to be ridiculous and make trophies for the first 3 places. This is bronze/3rd place so I still have 2 more trains to go!

My retrospective feedback:
1. I got better lighting! Before I couldn’t really see if I had attached things properly (see the cowcatcher grates) or missed spots (see the tinfoil poking through) but I got a secondary light stand with a bright light and it’s already proved helpful
2. Do roof overlay and roof shape separately. I tried to do those in one piece for some reason. I need to do those separately.
3. Proportions are off. The wheels should be aligned on each side - the cylinder needs to be wider. And also longer I think? Need tips here.
4. The wheels sitting under the train looks a bit wagon-ish - make the base of the train level with the base of the wheels next time. Need tips here.
5. Missed some common sense details on this one, like a door on the back.

Specific Questions
1. I want to attach these to a wood base. How do? My research sounds like either bake another time with liquid clay between the sculpture and the wood or a glue.
2. I baked these one section at a time, should I aim for a one shot piece next time?

I recently got into jewelry and wanted to start after falling down a Youtube hole. I had used polymer clay in my childhood to make miniature foodstuffs for my Barbies, but didn’t stick with it as I grew up. Might add beading hardware to what I make now and get back into polymer! I feel bad I didn’t stick with it, seeing all the insane cool stuff on here. But better late than never!

I bought a brand new box of ceramic tiles, but they have these white lines and powdery white look at some spots on the BACK. Is this normal?

I want to make a dish soap with white polymer clay, possibly paint decor on it to brighten it up.

Just wondering what you think would be best for waterproofness and longevity in terms of paint, glazing, setting material or any additives like glitter or anything to make it pop?

I made my DND character out of polymer clay. Very little experience, I typically have a clay phase for about 3 days every 5 years lol so I have used it before, but never made anything humanoid

The body and head are connected with wire so they can be removed which I will do when painting which is the next step!! I just wonder how people make these figures so sturdy? Especially in the thinner places like her hair and cloak thing?

She also got a bit dusty but I figured it didn't matter much if I was going to be paining her later. Definitely looking for some advice on making hair though!

How does one sculpt an embedded magnet for a pacifier? I understand baking magnets make them lose polarity, but I am seeing its possible while researching. Getting confusing answers with basic searching. Thanks so much!

Miniature strawberry layer cakes — polymer clay (Cernit)

These are some of my favorite pieces that I made for dolls as a teenager. I'm now a full-time student and business owner, but I still enjoy sculpting in my free time. I just found this sub and am so pleased to have my clay creativity sparked.

I feel like this is a dumb question, I’m pretty experienced with polymer clay but I know nothing about making beads. Is there a special tool that makes the holes / keeps the hole from closing before baking? Or do you just drill the hole after? Any hot tips appreciate! :)
