Whether it's booze, weed, narcotics, psychotropics, dissociatives, etc....doesn't really matter, to me. It's the same thing in every single case, the people who engage in drugs they can't handle lead to problems the rest of society has to deal with.

I don’t understand why I see so many taken or married women with personal male trainers. A lot of those trainers don’t even look like what they preach. How are they supposed to help you build muscle or improve your cardio when they don’t seem to have much muscle or fitness themselves? It makes me cringe. But the muscular ones are even more suspect because we know that if they are fit and muscular, whether naturally or through steroids, their testosterone could be higher than average, making them hornier and more likely to crash out. Creating a mega-twee AI girlie that says "nuh uh!!!!" to any cogent criticism of the AI industry is pathetic, and the people who do it clearly don't understand why. They lack self-awareness to realize it's really sad and doesn't change anyone's mind -- just reinforces what people already believe about the subject.

Phones should have different lists for alarm sounds and ringtones.

We all know the advice that you should never make a song (especially a beloved one) your wakeup alarm because you will gradually hate it.

I sometimes get jumpscared by people’s ringtones being my wakeup alarm. Lots of others have said similar things, that they get disturbed hearing their alarm out and about (although god help my friend who has the Zelda guardian theme music as their alarm).

Simply put, when choosing your alarm and ringtone sounds, there should be two lists that don’t intertwine.

"If you're vaccinated then it shouldn't matter if I am or not". It's not an impenetrable forcefield that guarantees you won't get sick. Not one person in the medical field has EVER explained it that way.

"It's better to catch it naturally". Getting the vaccine gives your body all the information you get from 'natjrally' catching the virus without the getting sick part.

"It made someone I know sick" So that person is most likely allergic to something in the vaccine, and therefore is reliant on you to get it to protect them from getting sick through herd immunity. The only way you could possibly make a worse decision is if you actually injected yourself and your family/friend with the virus.

They're either believing lies from someone pushing an agenda, or they don't understand how percentages work. Either way, blissful ignorance is not an excuse.

I swear these people cannot focus on the actual subject of a post. If it was between talking about the topic posted and dying, they'd die. Bonus points if it's a genuine question and people are only replying with jokes or giving snarky, useless replies, OR they drag in somebody's political stances when that has no relation to the topic.

I made a post asking about a show I want to watch (which has a somewhat unpopular actor whom I like) and basically all the replies were either hating on me, the actor, or both. I asked four questions and I had one sentence mentioning the guy.

Braindead reddit users. Just answer the questions being asked. You don't need to give an essay listing everything you dislike about him and then have a whole discussion about how he's evil and I'm evil by association in the comments. I'm begging you.

I see this happen on so many posts it's ridiculous. I feel bad for the poor souls (now including me) who come asking actual questions because I'd probably get the same amount of help if I asked a rock on the ground outside.

They litterly have no point on existing.

I never understood what the hype was about. I read the books recently when I'm an adult and saw the movies many times when I was a child. I have several reasons why I think Harry Potter is overrated.:

First of all, Rowling didn't do anything special.

Witchcraft schools existed before, also the magical style that seems to be copied mainly from Disney especially Mary Poppins, the part of "the chosen one" and the "hero's journey" is also a part that is in many stories, (the story of a boy who is chosen lives with his uncles and has another identity and lives a normal life is very reminiscent of Spider-Man, but Spider-Man is more original and iconic), part of a coming-of-age story and concepts of "adults" (things like racism) were also Exist before in series, movies and stories. So what has Harry Potter been up to?

Another thing, the plot doesn't feel as complex, realistic, or interesting as it tries to be. The writing is often predictable and ends poorl and in the end nothing happens. When something interesting happens it's only at the end of the book, and even then it doesn't lead to anything.

Most of the content in all these books is boring. There are things in there that I didn't really care for, and forced myself to keep listening.

There are also problems of plot holes, or things that did not develop well and all kinds or didn't make sense. There were more writing problems.

The characters are not good. Many of the characters were particularly unlikable, but people keep saying they like them, and want to see more of them (for example James Potter and Sirius Black), (by the way, their story is also not very original).
Also, Most of the characters have exactly the same personality, the teachers and the students they all kind and brave, even tho it's different people..
The only ones who were different from the other characters were students from Slytherin, but also for some reason everyone who studied in Slytherin was bad person (Rowling teaches a lesson about racism and then decides to generalize people, like all snobs are blonde with blue eyes).

Harry is also not a good character, the only difference from Voldemort is that he had loving mom so how he is a hero? He is too mediocre and there is nothing special about him. He may be talented, but many times he doesn't seem special and he also fails a lot. Besides he has no character, he's just sometimes nice and sometimes sassy, but somehow he is iconic.

There is also no point to books if people read it at a different age to their audience. If someone older (like me) reads the first book they will just think it's too boring and childish..

Another downside is that the first book was too boring and childish, at least for me.

I believe this is a popular opinion, but people don't want to be seen as vacuous for saying it. Everyone wants to throw around that Eleanor Roosevelt quote until they hear about a coworker or friend of a friend who did something interesting. Not every conversation needs to be about something deep. As long as you're not gossiping to be mean or tear down others, I don't really see the issue with it.

There's no other human involved in any way. AI chatbots just take ques from you and parrot them back to you. And since it's AI and there's no body yours just masturbating. It's not much different than porn even if it feels like it has some emotional element to it. I went down a rabbit hole watching videos about ai relationship people and people are so delusional and it can be very sad.

So in the United States, the drinking age is set at 21. However the vast majority of the states set their age of majority at 18, meaning that an 18, 19 or 20 year old is tried as an adult if they are caught drinking or with alcohol and the police decide to pursue charges against them and even worse I think the consequences are worse for them due to them being legally considered adults under the law.

We do not live in a functional democracy.

You can watch porn or sleep with women you’re attracted to, but that doesn’t mean you have to see every woman you desire as wife or girlfriend material. There’s a difference between being horny and actually wanting someone in your life. When you’re horny, your standards can change. But when you’re not horny, you see things differently. You realize that attraction alone isn’t enough. Some women can bring more mental-health issues and drama into your life than peace, and that matters when you’re thinking about a serious relationship. Sexual desire is one thing. Respect, compatibility, peace of mind, and choosing someone you genuinely want beside you are something else. For me, self-respect means knowing the difference.

First Im going to say why I like reddit.

1. It lets every user have a heard opinion no matter how new or bad it is.

2. Reddit subreddits are perfect and each space feels like its own app/place not just like the same app with a different topic.

For theese reasons I think on paper reddit is perfect. A place where everyone can connect and share Views but its not for the following reasons.

1. People are so rude to new opinions and only accept those like them.

2. People almost never get convinced by someone else argument and just get angry for no reason.

For example multiple times I've posted in r/NoStupidQuestions expecting them to be welcome since their whole thing is their is no stupid questions. After making a simple polite post and saying no hate explicitly and I was just dumb I got so many hate comments calling me homophobic and misogynistic. I genuinely dont get why I got the hate and I was just trying to ask a question.

I have also had multiple experiences where in an argument someone snoops my posts and finds out personal details about me to use to insult me in the posts. For example my job or appearance.

I notice most reddit threads have the worst mods that just ban a lot of posts from getting through even if it doesnt break the rules. In fact it's not even just reddit mods i find most figures of authority in the world are there because they get off on treating people under them with malcontent and make up issues because they are just such bored people. Like Karens. I think the common "reddit moderator is some dude in a basement that never showers" idea should be replaced with "suburban white people with bad takes, authoritarian ideals, bully, gimme what i want, haha you're under me attitude"
