That sulfery disgusting egg smell.
Anyone have any clue why it smells so gross down between Westport and Platypus?! No matter the time of day or day itself it smells lile someone deep throated a couple dozen hard boiled eggs.

Watch out for fake cash
My employer got stuck with a "Motion Picture Use Only" 100 dollar bill that nobody caught. Sigh.

Anybody on the upper peninsula do PDR?
Hi all, semi-new to the area (3-4yrs). Curious if there is a business, or even a person who on the side, does paintless dent removal for cars. I canât seem to find anything on google, and unsure of the capabilities of the local body shops. Iâd be ok with driving pretty much anywhere from Forks to the edges of Jefferson county to have that service performed in the coming months if thereâs some good recommendations or pointers!

are POC generally accepted?
My husband and I are black a couple and weâre visiting port Angeles for the first time. I have never been to Washington in general and wanting to know if itâs a friendly place for POC. I hate having to ask this but thankful for spaces like this that exist to have these kinds of discussions.

Teacher Strike?
I just heard that thereâs a chance of a strike at the school district due to pay. Can any other PASD employees confirm or is this just a rumor.
Thanks!

Photographers in Port Angeles
Hi everyone! Does anyone know any photographers in the area that can do those cheesy couple photos that are purposefully stupid? Like ones with stupid poses and look like they were taken at a JC Penney in the 90s? My wife and I would love to have Christmas cards made with that vibe.

Volunteers needed to help bake cakes and other treats for local foster youth
Hey Port Angeles!
I'm the Volunteer Coordinator for Cake4Kids, a non-profit organization that helps provide volunteer created birthday cakes (and other treats) for foster children and kids who otherwise would not be able to receive something for their special occasion, and we have a local chapter in Western Washington that serves Port Angeles and Clallam County. Since starting in 2020, the local chapter has delivered over 1500 cakes, and this year we are projected to deliver over 700 cakes to youth along the Olympic Peninsula.
https://www.cake4kids.org/chapters/westernwashington
There has been a growing need for our services in the area, and we are desperately seeking more volunteer bakers who can help us meet this increased demand. We have nearly 100 local volunteers, but we have struggled to get the word out about our volunteer opportunities as much as we would like to in this specific geographic area.
I'm reaching out in hopes that there may be some folks here who are interested in signing up. Once signed up you can bake as often as you want (some people bake 1 cake a year, some people bake every week, some people never bake, there's no minimum commitment, but there are consistent cakes available on our portal to choose from - we deliver about 50-60 a month in the area).
You can sign up as a volunteer here: https://www.cake4kids.org/volunteer-form and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have as well. Thanks so much for your time!
-Jeff

Considering Moving to PA
Hey everyone. Iâm from Colorado and currently looking to move out to PA. I am from a pretty rural part of CO and am a little nervous about WA politics. Iâm not republican but am far more conservative than most things to hear happening in the big cities of WA. Is there a good mix of ideas here or is it pretty one sided? Also I am a huge mountain biker and love the PNW for that fact and is the main reason I am moving whatâs the scene look like? Do you guys hate transplants like people do in CO? Whatâs one thing youâd change about PA if you could?

Recommendation for car maintenance, repair: Doctor Auto
The shop I'd been going to for years closed, and Doctor Auto is the only one that got more than one recommendation from the few people I asked.
Add mine. I don't know whether Don is owner, manager, both or neither, but he is kind and honest. Glad I took my car there.
