Computer Hardware Advice Computer Recommendations

So I’m currently in the market for a new laptop, but I don’t really know the specs or where to begin. My previous computer was a Lenovo Legion i5. Does anyone recommend any computer brands or specific laptops?

If it's for video editing specifically, Apple's MacBook Pro really is leagues above anything using Windows in my experience. The problem with Windows laptops is that they get too hot and therefore perform worse (to not damage components). Windows ARM-computers are supposed to be better, but don't necessarily have the same support for different programs. Apple switched over to ARM many years ago and the support is pretty good.
