Build Showcase Holidays of Boardgaming

So, I'm on a two week holiday trip to croatia. last year around this time i just found out about solo games and therefore took Galdor's Grip and Doom Realm with me. Oh and 20 Strong I guess. Galdor and Loot the Loop were the real stars.

This time it was a pretty tough decision because my collection grew a lot over the course of a year and as I usually just find time to craft the games but dont get to play them, i decided to bring some with me 😁 Goal is to play as many as possible - probably wont get to play all of them. and I really want to get into solo roleplaying aswell...which might be even more time consuming.

Will keep you guys updated over the next few days. First game will be "7 Dwarves".

Whats you favorite solo game to bring with you on a vacation? Do you even take Board Games with?

Oh and yea, there are some Jason Glover games on the picture. Bought those. I guess Underquest alone could keep me busy over the next weeks 😅

PnP Game Suggestions Any kid-friendly games with standard 52-card poker deck?

Hi friends,

Any recs for a kid-friendly or family-friendly PnP that uses a standard 52-card poker deck? Something easy to learn for 6-7 year olds and adults, too? Preferably something that we can just print on copy paper at home to take on our trip?

Thank you for all that you do!!!

PnP Question Help with colour and resolution without proper materials

So, i am going to make a homemade version of Big Book of Madness, making my own translation to my mother language just to play with my gf, but my prints aren't coming as great as i expected. My printer is an Brotherprint DCP-T510W, i don't know if it is a bad printer to be doing these kinds of prints and i need help.

I am using offset paper 240g (pretty thick, i'm aware that i bought the wrong gram for this kind of job).

The archive i'm working with was converted to CMYK japan web coated, i hope this is the right one.

My printer has options on the panel, has 3 separate softwares with different options and i don't know how to make my prints look great for the love of god.

I also tried printing Zombicide before on a glossy paper, the ones used for photos, and i had also problem with color, bust unlike this on which looks kinda pale and wrong colors, the glossy paper had a more dark look and wrong colors looking much darker than on screen.

PnP Tools New tool: print -> play (NO CUTTING AFTERWARDS)

Post image
81 Upvotes

Hey all,

I made a small tool that allows you to print cards directly onto blank cards using certain Canon printers, for a true print-and-play experience.

Benefits over grid printing:

  • No need to cut the image exactly right;
  • No alignment issues between front and back;
  • Print singles if you want, without having to print an entire sheet;
  • Optional: buy pre-cut blanks and simply print. No cutting required.

Currently known to work with:

  • Canon G650 / G620 — this is the printer I use
  • Canon G3570 / G3270 — has worked for other people

I'm not sure yet how many other Canon printers are compatible.

If you have a different Canon printer, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know whether it works (or doesn't). If it doesn't work, I may be able to add support for it.

Guide

I've written a guide with the instructions here:

https://printtcg.com/guide.html

Hopefully this is useful to anyone who wants to print directly onto cards!

Ps: I added the image to display output of the setup. I generated the image on the card with Gemini, and used the tool to make it into a real card!

PnP Question Pokemon PnP for Card Capture

Hi everyone, there's a very simple Deck Builder for Stardard 52-Card Decks which is called Card Capture. It's pretty popular and perfect for Pokemon reskin but there's no PnP for it (somehow there's Advance Wars edition ffs). Even Regicide has Pokemon PnP, we have to fix that.

I've designed everything about the cards. I have all the high resolution pictures too. But i don't have a PC. The cards are extremely simple. So i'm looking for someone who is experienced and ready to waste their 30 minutes for this. Then we can upload it on BGG. So yeah, feel free to message if you would like to complete "Pokemon - Rush for Second Evolutions" with me.

Feedback Request Cut, sleeved, and ready for the playtest! A look at the components & card layout. Which card back design is your favorite?

I aimed for a sleek, ink-friendly graphic design that looks sharp on standard home printers without draining an entire black cartridge. If the playtest goes well, I'll soon start working on both the English and Spanish versions.

Build Showcase Showcase example to included in next release of PnPink

I’ve been experimenting with the latest PnPInk features: text frames that automatically resize to their content, stack themselves dynamically, and support inline icons and styled text decorations.

This example set is automativally generated from one simple Inkscape SVG template + a spreadsheet data (10 rows in CSV), and will be included as example in next release (v0.57 next week).

Interesting details can be observed that are not easily replicable in other tools (at least automatically) such as

- "3D bevel filters on titles",

- "automatic positioning of text boxes, sized to the content and stacked downwards",

- "text labeling, practically without limits",

- "compositions of (multiple) icons within the text",

all of them created on the fly from the dataset.

Art is created, (automatically downloaded "on the fly") from Wikimedia Commons (CC0 in most countries).

My Name Was... (Print and Play): zombie survival roll n write

So I was going through my old reddit links and by chance came across this one from four years ago:

https://www.reddit.com/r/boardgames/comments/vj2d9z/i_played_an_awesome_imho_zombie_survival_roll_n/

This is a write and roll game. It's on backerkit (which I'm not linking to but can easily be googled) and ended yesterday but thought I'd share with anyone else who was interested in this.

Printer Recommendations Button Sky PnP not printing right?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Not sure I used the right flair but I have spent the last hour trying to print Food Chain island by button sky.

I bought the pdf on itch.io, and no matter what settings I change it prints as shown below. I've changed it to landscape mode, tried printing it as an image, rotated printed to pdf and tried printing nothing seems to work.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for any advice

How to print my own playing cards

Hey everyone, so I'll make this short. I love designing games and specifically card games not to sell or anything just to play within my close friends or to keep for myself. I have been designing and then printing it out from nearby printing shop on the photo paper. The problem i think you already know, shuffling, the photo paper sticks to each other and the game doesnt feel smooth and seamless , so now i want to print out the cards in better quality and get them real lives. But I am not able to find the best way to do so. Can anyone please help me out ?

This is a space for PnP games with minimal to no crafting required. Whether it’s a PnP roll and write, or a PnP 9-18 card micro game, we want to know about it. Bonus points for sharing details about the game that might be helpful to a beginner.

If you're just getting into PNP games, this is a great place to start!

PnP Game Design 3 years of working on my own strategy game – here’s where it is today

Hey everyone,

some of you might remember Command & Defend: Modern War from when I shared it here before. With the second campaign coming up soon, I thought I’d share a little update on how the project has developed.

I’ve been working on the game for about three years now. The idea has always been to bring the things I love about classic RTS and turn-based strategy games to the tabletop — building a base, managing resources, expanding your army, keeping your units supplied and, of course, trying to outplay your opponents.

The game is completely print-it-yourself, which means you’re not really limited by what comes in a box. Need more units? Print more. Need more resources or game money? Print more. Want to build a bigger battlefield? Print more.

There’s a full 3D Print Edition with printable units and buildings, as well as a 2D Print & Play Edition for anyone who doesn’t own a 3D printer.

Since I last shared the project, I’ve continued working on the game, added a lot of new content and created two major expansions: Air Wars and Sea Wars, bringing air and naval combat to the system.

After a small first Kickstarter earlier this year, I’m now getting ready for Campaign #2.

It’s still very much an indie project that I’m building step by step, so I’d genuinely love to hear what you think about how it’s developing.

If you’d like to learn more about the game, the rules or the different units, you can find a lot more on the Kickstarter page. And if it sounds like your kind of game, you can follow the project there to get notified when the new campaign goes live.

Thanks for taking another look!
