Need help choosing a printer to replace old HP (Details in description)

I've had this old HP Deskjet I got for like $30 back when I was a teenager for YEARS because I was broke + the cartridges are easy to refill so I get to print for (almost) free. Back when I got it, HP was essentially the only easily accessible & affordable brand in my country (Colombia), so I was forced to buy it.

Thankfully, that's no longer the case! Yay!

I'm still broke by international standards tho, so I need your help on choosing literally anything that is NOT from HP.

Requirements:

• Must have a scanner
• Must be an inkjet

That's it. I'd prefer if it allows third party ink and/or has an ink tank.

Something under $100 would be great but I know miracles don't exist so don't be afraid to suggest a higher quality option if you believe it's worth the price, absolute max I'm willing to spend is ~$200.

Note: I know Brother is great, but repair options in case of malfunction are limited in my country so I'd prefer a different brand like Epson or Canon because I'm more likely to find a technician that knows to fix these brands, you're still welcome to suggest it if you think it's worth it.

You're going to be quite limited in choice on a $100 budget. I'd suggest the highest model number Canon PIXMA TR/TS-series machine that is within your budget. The PIXMA G-series bottle-fed tank inkjets will have a lower cost per page, which might be an option if you are able to stretch to $200 and shop around for discounts/sales.

The reduced cost per page for the bottle-fed machines is good if you are printing enough volume to make the savings worthwhile. For very low volume, the more complex ink system in the bottle-fed tank machines is more likely to have reliability issues; the cheaper TR/TS-series cartridge machines might be more suitable if it's just a few pages per month.

If will be printing enough volume (pages per month) to get the benefit of a bottle-fed machine, sure. Otherwise, it's on the lower end of the G-series, and $168 could probably get you a machine on the upper end of the TR/TS-series (i.e. compare features and see what each would give you). You need to basically choose between lower cost per page or a higher end machine with more features. If the G2170 has all the features you want/need, it should be good machine (I'm calling it lower end because there are models above it in the G-series, not because it's a bad or limited machine).
