My beautiful pitador (Lady) of 14 years (she was 15+ years old,1-3y when we got her in 2012)passed away today. She had oral cancer with andabcess that had grown to cover nearly half her face. Wouldn't respond to abx and she was losing weight, weak, stumbling about...she was suffering so I had to choose to make her comfortable. One of the hardest decisions of my life. I'm so heartbroken... Sitting here in a house that feels so empty without her in it. It's so quiet. I've never loved an animal so fully in my life. I miss her so much!

I had to face the worst thing I have been dreading for ages. My best mate and loyal companion for 12 years had to be put to sleep this morning he became so unwell from no where. I’m gonna miss him so much, only a small bird but took up such a big place in my heart. I’m in bits. Even his cage friend is confused. Love you Freddy forever missed.

We miss the fun police, barking randomly at nothing or something. The cockatiel landing on your head, the cats cuddling up with you. Kissing you goodnight every night between your beautiful eyes. We miss our best friend, brother, child and protector. You will never be forgotten and we love you so much. Rest easy there boss..

I wish we could have had more time with you buddy. I hope you’re getting all the chicken and steak you could dream of, playing in your own private pool, and keeping watch of the neighborhood. Make some friends while you wait for us. Don’t cause too much trouble.

Today sucked. Dug had likely been sick with some sort of cancer but didn’t show it until he started vomiting blood this morning.

One month since I heard your bark
One month since I seen you first thing in the morning
One month since I heard your paws run in the house
One month since I watched you have zoomies
One month since I listened to your heartbeat
One month since I held your paws
One month since you been gone
I catch myself so many times to let you know we need to go outside.
I only had you for 4 years.
I miss you so much Sultan
My house feels so empty…

Our time together was not enough but I’ll cherish it for a lifetime 🌈 🐾

I’ve never gone thru this before. I’ve been home from the vet for about an hour, balling on the couch, going to reach to pet Piper and she’s not there. I can’t stop crying. I truly don’t know what to do. How do I go to bed tonight and wake up tomorrow with her not next to me? 😭 I know (or at least hope) with time it will get better but right now I’m at a total loss and I’m heartbroken šŸ’”

Rest easy, my sweet baby girl šŸ–¤ until we meet again🪽

My warrior princess has finally shown me the sign. It’s been 3 years since her stomach cancer diagnosis- I thought I had 3 months at that time, but no….not this girl. Thank you for 13 wonderful years of love and laughter. You taught me what it means to be strong.Tomorrow I will be strong for you.

Goodbye to our Little Man

We lost our 'Little Man' today, a 13-year-old chihuahua who likely spent his first ten years in a too small cage. His paws were all messed up and he had a 'Jimothy' style hunch. Yet for over two years he had so much fun here, getting the zoomies with our other puppers and enjoying his relatively brief landing with us. He'd gotten to a point where he could barely move, but he still loved sitting in the cool grass, in the hot sun, which is how he left us. We'll see him when we cross the Rainbow Bridge.

I lost my german shepherd

i feel pain that people around me that were not close to him can't imagine. I feel like the world lost all joy. i wake and sleep crying. Its scary that i have to live the rest of my life without him. I end thinking things i could have done better with him. He died at 9.5 i could not save him. I know the lifespan is 9-13 but i was not ready to say goodbye. I was by his side the last 20 days all day and night. i dont think i will ever take a new dog maybe when i grow very old. i love dogs but i feel like none will be able to take his place. I am depressed now he was the only thing helping me keep up in life. I want to believe that one day i will reunite with him in paradise. What can i do to help me get better?

We have so much guilt, zero answers.

5 days, for 5 days we completely fell
In love with Rusty, our male Syrian hamster.
We have been new owners for the last 6 months, owning a robo hamster we adopted from ethically and had been thriving since we got him….
We were interested in a Syrian, preferably a male because we heard they were easier to tame, but we knew it also depended on the hamster.
We were unaware that petsmart isn’t an ethical place to buy pets, we assumed we were ā€œsavingā€ him but now we have learned to never support these places again.

We were told he was 4 months old, yet he had his hair fully grown in and was clearly graying in some areas as well as losing hair.
His teeth were chipped, he couldn’t open seeds, and he could only walk on his wheel because he had a severe wobble and we noticed he peed white.
As new owners, I didn’t see these signs as severe red flags until after his passing.. we woke up to him limping on his back leg and hoped he had just injured it, we had a emergency vet appointment in the next 3 hours almost instantly, and we monitored him in a small carrier.
We watched him die within 30 minutes and we still are completely lost, he went paralyzed from the back end within 15 minutes of us watching him, and he couldn’t even sit up without rolling on his back.
He picked himself so hard I have gashes from trying to stop him, I couldn’t stop him.
He died in pain, scared, we have zero clue what happened to him and we feel so much guilt as new owners, we felt as if we failed him and could’ve helped him before..but we didn’t.
We refused to return him to petsmart, giving him a proper resting place next to my boyfriend’s passed cat.
We own 2 other hamsters that were ethically adopted, a male robo and a female Syrian. We hold so much guilt that we will fail our other babies but we just need answers. No vets could explain. I don’t understand why he suffered so much.

I probably annoy them but i need to do it. I feel if I don’t i feel im losing my mind. I know you’re sending me and momma signs. We’ve seen the butterflies and moths. We love you and we miss you so much.

I’m Sadder than the Owner

• Upvotes

My neighbour’s pal.

He was a Big Ol’ Friendly Chocolate Lab and I just found out today he passed of old age four days ago. Assisted and easy.

For him (Gawd, I miss him).
And for his owner.

But not for me.

Maybe my neighbour is just hiding it.

— I sure can’t.

I loved his stink, his licks and hard tail whacking’ the wall; the way he waddled without hurting his nuts and his greed over any ball he found.
