❓Problem❓ Keep getting hit with rate limits

On my reddit mobile app (same account) I constantly get rate limited while browsing and it is starting to ruin my experience on here.

This happens when I am simply browsing communities and accounts, not commenting, upvoting, or doing anything. Simply by lurking I constantly get rate limited and its getting to the point I cannot use reddit on my phone for more than 10 minutes before it shuts down.

my account isn't new, has enough karma that I've never had issues joining communities before, and I'm not interacting with everything which could be overwhelming the system, so why do I keep getting limited?

Do you mean your phone is shutting down, or the app is closing on its own?

Do you have the latest version of the app?

the app will stop loading new posts and tells me to wait 30 seconds to a minute because i hit my "rate limit"

i do have the latest version of the app, and i dont run into this issue on browser

i got it on my macbook. i think my mobile might just be "broken"??? not sure why this is happening

Yeah that's so odd! Definitely sounds like a bug so glad you were able to post on the bugs subreddit. I would try the basic trouble shooting of clearing the cache of the app and uninstalling it, restarting your phone then reinstalling but once you've gone past "have you tried turning it off and on again?" my IT troubleshooting knowledge runs out. Good luck.

I’m thinking this is just my sign to delete Reddit off my phone, it doesn’t do me any good anyways.

Thank you for your help, I’ll try and reinstall it to see if that helps, or see what the people on r bugs have to say

The other option night be using the browser on your phone but yeah Reddit is often buggy.
