They are so much easier to change in the field or on the side of the road compared to stud piloted wheels

I love to hypermile. It gives me something to enjoy on my commute. I drive all back roads and seldom see another car, so I can essentially drive however I want.

Don't underestimate how good of mileage you can get with a few simple mods and driving techniques.

I got a new-to-me 1979 Lincoln last week and have been practicing my techniques. it has the 6.6L 400M engine with a C6. No exaggeration, I just got 10L/100KM (23.5MPG) on my last 2 tanks. My first tank I got 20L/100KM (11.8MPG).

I drive almost all highway, keep it around 70-80km/h, and do pulse and glide whiling riding the hills. i have my tires inflated to max, the carb is tuned and running slightly lean, and I used a vacuum gauge to help me stay at max vacuum as much as possible.

What do you get for fuel economy when you practice hypermiling techniques?

Looks like they use it as storage. Pretty cool it's still there.

Had the gas engine and not the diesel

It was $500. It has a five-speed, It was the last year before the mk6.5 refresh (2014) It has the same ancient single jingle 2.0 that Volkswagen has been putting out forever, I had it in my 2000 golf. In my case They renamed the AXA to the CBPA, because four letters I guess.

It was such a base model, that a previous owner realized they screwed up, and added an aftermarket cruise control setup.

Overall it's charming. It's gutless, there's no getting around that, but it's definitely far from unsafe. I returned between 34 and 40 MPG on a recent thousand mile road trip, AC is cold, and the seats are relatively comfortable. There's even enough room in the backseat for a car seat, with a 6-ft passenger in the front seat.

Honestly, I really start to realize minivans are the best type of car in the world because they get about the same gas mileage as a sedan, typically also better than an SUV, has more space while not being super huge, typically comes with a v6, FWD or AWD, has 3rd row seats for even more space

Company I work for rented 4 of these ram pro masters from sunbelt rentals and they surprised me with how comfortable they are especially after a 12 hour shift….

But boy does this thing have electrical problems like no other and it only has 3k miles.

Seatbelt sensor is broken so it’s always saying seat belt not buckled , if you get out of the van it with it running the key won’t detect once you get back in so you have to turn it off and back on.

The dash lights have also freaked out a few times as well

I posted that I bought this last week, now I'm posting my own pictures. So far, everything is perfect. It starts and runs like a new car. It has 82,000km, has never seen rain, and everything work including the 8-track and AC.

My peers have stated that I am indeed crazy, but 'fuck it' I love this thing. I have never driven such a comfortable cruiser on my back-road country commute.

Interesting notes:

- Ford 400 (6.6L) 'small' block V8.

- Ford C6 Trans.

- 233" Long, 6300lbs GVWR

- Quieter than an EV. Seriously, you cannot hear that it's running.

- Came with Creedence still in the 8-Track player.

- I'm getting 12.5L/100km (~19MPG US) on the freeway, and 32L/100km (~7MPG US) in the city.
