One more restoration that I put together. This one is for the Christmas 1993 SNICK. There's an existing version of this on Archive, but it has Ren & Stimpy (which did not air that day) at the end and is missing Eureka's Castle at the start. I changed it to the more accurate lineup of Eureka's Castle at the beginning of the night, with Roundhouse closing things out.

So enjoy an early holiday season. Pretty sure this is the last restoration I plan on putting together unless commercial breaks from a couple particular evenings manage to surface.

Hey everyone, longtime 90s Nickelodeon podcast here (Splat Attack Podcast). We just released an episode where we take two pirate themed episodes, one from Rugrats and one from Rocko's Modern Life, and break down which is better across story, main character, villain, use of the pirate theme, and lasting appeal.

Rugrats brings "Sand Ho!" where the babies turn the backyard into a treasure hunt and Angelica plays the villain. Rocko's Modern Life brings "Sailing the Seven Zzz's" where Ed Bighead starts sleepwalking as a pirate and trashing Rocko's house.

We had a guest judge with us for this one, and honestly the result surprised us. Curious what this community thinks: which one do you think should have won, and what other Nicktoon pirate episodes deserve a rewatch?

I actually really love this special. I remember tuning in when it first debuted in August 2001. And at the time, had no idea who Betty White was! Lol. Donnie’s backstory is pretty heartbreaking but also reminds me of Tarzan. How Tarzan’s parents were living in the jungle and got murdered, leaving the baby boy to be raised by monkeys. I rewatched this one after 23 years after last seeing it sometime in late 2003 before heading off to school one morning.

There are a couple parts that I don’t remember at all which is weird because I remember pretty much everything else. Darwin crying in the rain because he felt guilty about the things he said about Donnie, and the family rushing to get the orangutan tape uploaded before time runs out. Did Nickelodeon edit some stuff out when they replayed it? I seem to recall that it aired all as one long episode, and on DVD it’s split into 4 parts.

One thing that’s always stayed with me is when Eliza is sleeping up in the tree and she thinks she had a dream about Donnie, when in reality he was next to her before the orangutan picked him up.

Here is my latest Action League Now figure, they have magnetic heads so they are interchangeable.

have you played Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots before for the ps2

I've been trying to track this movie down for years, and at this point I'm starting to wonder if it was some bizarre fever dream.

I watched a ton of Nickelodeon growing up, and I'm almost positive this aired sometime in the early-'80s, around the era when Out of Control, Pinwheel, Danger Mouse, and Turkey TV were on. Nick showed a lot of strange, random stuff back then, not necessarily their own programming. I even remember things likeThe Red Balloon airing around that time.

Unfortunately, I remember exactly ONE thing about this movie:

A gargoyle statue falls off the back of a truck near the beginning.

That's it. That's the memory.

I hadn't really been exposed to horror yet, and whatever happened in that scene absolutely terrified me as a kid. It's stuck in my head for roughly 40 years, but searching variations of "gargoyle statue falls off truck 1980s movie" has gotten me absolutely nowhere.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Was this actually a movie that aired on Nickelodeon? or did my childhood brain invent the whole damn thing?

I'd love to finally put a name to it and maybe watch it again to find out what scared me so badly all those years ago.
