WP109 Old Fashioned

Post image

On a recent trip to the Adirondacks, I picked up a bottle of spiced whiskey barrel aged maple syrup. Then I finally got my hands on a bottle of Worthy Park 109, and I had a feeling they were made for each other. I made an Old Fashioned with these two ingredients plus orange bitters and Angostura bitters.

Incredible! Delicious! This spiced whiskey barrel aged maple syrup is really unique, and its distinctive barrel notes really compliment the deep, rich notes of the WP109. It makes for a really complex and intriguing sip. Sadly, I may have a hard time replacing this syrup when I've used up this bottle.

WP109 is quickly becoming my favorite bottle in the bar. It’s a solid sipper but it really shines in cocktails. It makes a killer sidecar and a I’ve recently been obsessed with using it in a split base manhattan (1:1 / WP109:Rye).

Going to have to give this a shot. I recently received some Birch tree syrup from Iceland as a gift from a friend!
