Question Pretty sure this is a scam. How does it work?
galleryI have a Shopify store and from time to time I’ll get an email from what I suspect is a scammer since they generally all follow a similar script. I’m curious how the scams works. If I were to agree to it what are the next steps in the scam?

Question Scammers Have Been Harming My Business By Impersonating Me
Hi, sorry for the lie, ill admit it is about my sister, just wanted something flashy.
My sister is an artist and has been having scammers impersonate her and scam people out of money by using gift cards. This has been negatively affecting her business because there are now tons of slanderous posts on different platforms calling her a scammer. She uses watermarks, but some of the scammers are changing their usernames to be only slightly off from hers, like an O to a 0.
Is there anything that can be done outside of battle with the court of public opinion? Ive already advised to create accounts on the other platforms and make posts about scammers, as well as reporting anything she sees and contacting support about impersonators, and encouraging her followers to do the same.
This has only become an issue because 1) she is losing business and 2) they have somehow managed to find her phone number, im assuming it was grabbed after a paypal transaction and they found it being linked to her government name, but im not entirely too sure.
Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Service Scam My Great Uncle’s In A (Likely) Recovery Scam
Long story short, the old man seems to have gotten caught in a second scam after the first one got him. The kind that says they’ll get the money back for a fee, claim the money’s safe in an account, and that they just need to add money to reach the minimum for a “quick withdrawal”. And you better hurry, before the original scammers get wise!
The whole story was shifty, how they operated was shifty, and now uncle shows me this screen, and I’ve never seen anything like this before!

Question How scammy is this Apollo work opportunity where I supposedly help train autonomous driving software & AI and get paid a minimum of $10/answer for up to 30 answers a day? Why does the withdrawal threshold need to be $30,000?
I learned about this in an online infomercial ad that had Elon Musk talk about it.
If this is a scam, how so? What will happen later if I keep at those 30 tasks/day? What will happen when I get close to the $30k withdrawal threshold, and when I reach it?
And also if this is a scam, what is the real & genuine version of this money-making opportunity, do you have a sign-up link, and how high is the barrier to entry? And how much $ per day will I earn in the genuine version of this opportunity?

Housing/Rental Scam What’s the scam?
I’m an AirBnB host. Twice this week, I’ve received a message followed by a booking inquiry, but no payment was ever made.
Both initial messages were similar.
The first was:
“Good evening,
IN TOWN FOR AN EVENT WITH MY FRIENDS AND WOULD LOVE TO STAY AT YOUR PLACE ITS LOVELY!!!”
I then had to preapprove the reservation because the booker had a 5.0 rating, even though Instant Book is turned on and my account is set to automatically accept guests with a good track record.
I sent messages asking for their ETA and other details, but received no response.
No payment was ever made. The next message I received was:
“Please cancel this booking.”
The reservation had never actually been completed or fully booked.
Then I received:
“if they contact you again, please don’t book, this account has been compromised, thanks”
There doesn’t appear to be any way to report what happened through the available guest-reporting options because none of the choices fit the situation.
Then yesterday, I received a similar inquiry from a different account:
”Hello your house is beautiful I’m with family for a work trip”
The booking inquiry was for the following day and requested a noon check-in, which is four hours earlier than my normal check-in time. I approved the request, but again, no payment was made.
I responded that I was looking forward to hosting their family. The message shows as read.
Today, I sent another message asking them to please let me know whether they intended to complete the transaction so I could have the space ready at the requested time.
Again, no response and no payment.
Both of these inquiry/fake booking situations occurred this week, and both were accompanied by similarly strange grammar and communication patterns.
I’m trying to understand what the scam actually is. Are they hoping a host will mistakenly send check-in information before payment is completed so they can access the property and stay for free? Or is there another type of scam involving these incomplete booking inquiries that hosts should be aware of?
