Other than sharp, does that knife style have a specific name?

+3 at least. Probably a +4.

>cough< Sorry, that's a D&D joke. I think this is called a Nakiri knife.

I like how he's efficient but not doing it at a ridiculous speed

Yeah, that is I do this all day speed, not showing off for the camera speed.

Can I get the version without the core

Look at the color of that pineapple. That core is certainly edible. Nothing like US groceries anyway.

YES! That pineapple looks incredibly delicious.

Whoa - TIL

2

u/Timmerdogg Jul 20 '26

Right? I was like you're going to have to spit out a lot of that

A good pineapple can have a good core!

u/itswtfeverb Jul 20 '26

Really? That pineapple was very ripe

16

u/Tetracheilostoma Jul 20 '26

Yeah if it's ripe enough the core may be fully palatable and it's good for you too

This is crazy talk. I literally have a pineapple coring tool. Why would it even exist in the first place if it was common to eat the core?

Wait till you hear about apple cores and banana peels

1

u/Tetracheilostoma Jul 21 '26

I've eaten countless apple/pear cores and 1 or 2 orange peels but never a banana peel

2

u/RivenRise Jul 21 '26

Mango peels on a slightly green mango is where it's at. I like cutting mango into slices with peel and munching on them with a lil tajin.

I can't really eat apple cores, but when it comes to pears I usually leave nothing but that little stick (or whatever its called :))

Because finding a pineapple this ripe outside of Hawaii or a tropical country is nearly impossible. All of the pineapples you’re going to get at a grocery store will need the core remover.

u/spacestationkru Jul 21 '26

?? You guys spit out the core??

2

It never gets in the mouth

Yanks and their half-ripe produce.

u/PJballa34 Jul 20 '26

Sharp tools are a godsend.

That pineapple looks magical

Finally, a knifework video where they’re wearing adequate hand protection. My anxiety thanks you!

I would buy a pineapple everyday from this cat just to see him work.

Beautifully ripe!

Damn, I could straight up eat that like a turkey leg, pineapple makes me squirt

1

u/I_can_pun_anything Jul 21 '26

Yeah but he left a ton of core in the pieces

1

u/SteveMartin32 Jul 22 '26

Just remember that the tingling feeling you get when eating pineapple is all the needles in the pineapple

1

u/LegitMeatPuppet Jul 23 '26

Pineapple 🍍 eats you!
