I have just over a yard left of a gorgeous navy seersucker and cannot decide what to make with it! What’s everyone’s favorite pattern that uses just a smidge of fabric?

The only thing I can think of for a plaid cotton lawn such as this is pajamas - but I want to show off this amazing fabric outside the house! Does anyone have ideas for this plaid lawn other than pajamas?

Trying to find a pattern like this except in a larger size-like preteen maybe. Thanks

Dear community,
I’m looking for a woven blouse, top, or dress pattern with vertical gathering/ruching down the front, similar to the examples in these photos. The gathering runs vertically through the bodice and creates those soft horizontal folds across the front.
I know it used to be a popular feature in 1930s, however, I just can't find a pattern that I can use.
And a related pattern-drafting question: If I wanted to recreate this effect by rotating the bust dart into a vertical gathered section at the front, how would you calculate how much additional fabric to add to make the gathers more pronounced? I’m assuming the transferred dart intake alone probably wouldn’t create quite this much gathering.
Thank you!

Anyone know of a pattern with similar gathering and waist band / arm cuffs like this top ?

I love these pants. Has anyone made a pattern from this store? She’s been around for forever and has good reviews but some of these pictures are definitely too good to be true. Worth making a mockup or should I just pass?

Does anyone else have issues with makers atelier sewing patterns? I've made the flat front culottes and the pleated skirt from them, and for how expensive the patterns are I really expect the patterns to have layers so I can just print one size... and also I made the culottes, followed every step meticulously and yet the waistband is way too small to fit around the flat front shorts, short by about two inches! Pretty frustrated with how expensive these patterns are.

Hi everyone I’m trying to create the pattern for this type of shoulder on a blazer but I don’t know how to start. To make the form is it only from the shoulder pads or do I have to modify the upper armhole to have that curve at the top ??

Midi dress, v neck but not low-cut, with interesting 3/4 to long sleeves, maybe flutter or bell. Does anyone know of anything that fits? I can do some altering if I can find something close enough. Everything I am seeing is very low-cut or not empire waist!

I'd like to make the mottled red cocktail dress the character Patricia wears in Widow's Bay episode 4, "Beach Reads", for Halloween. I've been getting into dyeing so I think it will be a fun challenge to try to dye a similar pattern (the one in the show looks like a large scale print). I'm especially interested in getting the sleeves and neckline close. Sources online say the original dress is 80s vintage and from the brand Carole Little. I'm an intermediate sewist and have made lined coats and capes (and easier stuff like skirts) as well as lots of outdoor stuff (tents, zipper bags, totes) but i'm not quite ready to self draft a pattern.

I posted on here I think a couple of weeks ago and I’m happy to say I figured out the neckline! Really love how it turned out.

I fell in love with this picture of a vintage 70s wedding dress and want to wear it for my “night before” of my wedding. hopefully I can thrift some lace tablecloths to make it happen but I need a pattern. any ideas? Maybe not quite off the shoulder, but this general type of neckline?

Looking for a pattern like the one pictured. I searched and searched and I keep getting the open tie vests/blouses. I suppose if anyone knows of a v neck blouse somewhat similar to the one pictured, I could add the tie myself maybe?

Alright folks- I’m undergoing a BIG life transition. I’m transitioning out of an exclusively scrub wearing roll into one that requires business casual dress. I’m also having to do a big move in the process. I’m hoping to kill two birds with one stone- use up some of my (slightly unhinged) fabric stash and sew it into clothes I can wear so I don’t have to spent a million dollars on a new wardrobe. Please bless me with your favorite top patterns (admittedly I’m still to afraid to try making my own slacks).

I'm trying to recreate this skirt and r/findfashion Suggested it was a midi, half pleated, aline skirt. I guess i'm looking for a paneled aline midiskirt pattern with pleats on the lower half. Any tips on either drafting a pattern myself or sewing a skirt like this is appreciated. Here's the picture, and thanks in advance :)

i thrifted this top and love it so much. it uses a thin polyester fabric and ties around the back. i’m just getting into sewing and it would be a dream to make a top like this!
