Looking for a sewing pattern similar to this
Love this dress and would love to make it for an upcoming wedding - struggling to find a similar pattern or at the very least understanding how to do the ruffle!

Hello everyone!!! First time poster here. I am in a garment making class at my college and there is this dress by Molly Goddard that I am OBSESSED with (image attached). I found this on Pinterest and have since been scouring the internet for a pattern. So far, so futile. I would love for some help if anyone has some pointers to finding patterns. I am not advanced enough to be able to make a pattern. Please help!!!! Thank you soooooo much!

Hey I'm trying to cosplay this character in this specific outfit, and I'm interested in starting a new sewing project of making this dress. I'm brand new to using patterns and I'm not really sure where to look, does anyone have any good suggestions for this type of dress? Most of the cosplays I see they just have a white dress with puffy shoulders but they're not all the same dress.

Hi!
I’m looking for a pattern for a quilted storage basket like this - any ideas where to find it? I have looked on Etsy but all the patterns seem to be ai or use ai imagery so I don’t know whether they’re legit 😅 (had this issue a lot crocheting and final product never looks close to the photo!)

Hi there, sorry if this is seen as too simple to be asking for help on, but I’m struggling with the search terms to find this and wondering if anyone has any input. I want to try making bandanas for work, but I don’t love the classic pointed end of a bandana and I think this design might be more flattering.
I feel like I could theoretically prototype until I get the right shape, but does a pattern for something like this already exist?

Hey there! I’m looking for some pattern-making advice, especially if you guys have experience with hats or pet accessories
I’m trying to make a small baseball cap for dogs and cats that looks as close as possible to a real human baseball cap :) especially the relatively high front shape
I started from an existing pet-cap (the yellow cap I bought, image 2) and modified it to get a pattern (image 3)… but the problem is that every version I make still looks very flat compared with a normal baseball cap
the animal’s head obviously has a very different shape from a human head, so I know I probably can’t reproduce a human cap pattern exactly, but I’m tryin to can get very close to it
So far, I’ve tried:
The main problem is always the same: once the cap is worn/tightened around the animal’s head, the crown tends to collapse or flatten instead of keeping that higher, boxier baseball-cap silhouette.
I’m gonna test Decovil/interfacing on the front panels to see how much of the problem is simply a lack of structure in the fabric
would you approach this by changing the pattern itself, adding internal structure, changing the panel construction, or a combination of those?
I’d especially love advice on what you would change in the front/side pattern pieces to create more height and prevent the crown from collapsing
I’m be super happy to redraw the pattern completely if my current construction is working against me lol
Please help meee <3

I was over on r/SewingChallenge and one of the bingo squares is sew a free pattern or a gifted fabric. I do have some fabric I got at a free exchange, but was thinking it'd be a fun challenge to use a free pattern too 😊
So I'd love to hear about everyone's favorite free pattern they've found! Just for fun, not just for this challenge. :)

Hello!
Does anyone have a pattern they would recommend using to turn regular full length sleeves to flutter sleeves?
I am imagining I would fully detach the existing sleeves and basically use them as fabric. I know I could just find a flutter sleeve pattern but I'm curious if anyone has ever done this and or knows of any strategies/guides?

Pretty self-explanatory. I love sewing, but pattern-making seems to be beyond me, and I'd like to try draping, but I don't have access to a mannequin now. I've tried looking around online if there is a similar dress I can buy (there isn't). I'd have no issues making it from scratch if I had a pattern, any help is very much appreciated <3

I am attempting to find a plus size (2x or US W 20) dress pattern that would look similar to Debbie Jellinsky's first outfit in Addams Family Values.
So far I have found similar overall dress patterns, but none of them include the plunging neckline or folded collar, which are essential to me.
I have searched Etsy, Ebay, and even Walmart. Help!

Hi everyone!
I’ve updated the torso length of my previous pattern and made this version into a standard-length version. I’m looking for a few sewists who would be interested in testing the updated pattern
Pattern information:
It’s a fit & flare panel dress with lining, and I’d say it’s suitable for a confident beginner who is comfortable with basic garment sewing.
The pattern includes US sizes 0–16, and I’m hoping to have 1–2 sewists across each size so I can see how the updated grading and fit work on different bodies.
Feedbacks:
- How does the fit feel?
- Is anything confusing in the sewing instructions?
- Did you run into any problems while assembling or sewing the pattern?
- A couple of photos of your finished dress (front + back would be wonderful!)
You don’t need to be an expert sewist at all. I’d actually love to hear from sewists with different levels of experience.
I’m hoping to have the testing completed within two months after I send you an email:) If you’re interested, it would be really helpful if you could let me know roughly when you’d be able to finish.
And if you run into any questions or problems along the way, please feel free to message me!
Thank you so much for reading!

My grandma made me a blanket out of this fabric when I was six or seven years old. I don’t have very many fun memories of my childhood, but whenever I got to go to my grandma‘s or when she came to visit us, it was really special. She made all of us are special blankets from different materials/patterns etc. I am 32 now and the blanket has definitely seen better days, but I desperately am trying to find the same fabric so I can make one just like it. I don’t have much to show other than these pictures.
Please please help!

Hi, these are one of my favorite pairs of pants I own and I’d love to be able to make my own similar to these, does anyone know of any patterns like this that aren’t wrap pants? Thanks in advance!
