What a deeply dysfunctional society
After 12 years as a Java developer, I can barely find a job in China anymore. It’s honestly incredibly frustrating and disheartening.

Anyone Else Disgusted with companies?
This Paige is for people who want to post their opinions and disgust of how companies treat the customer so that hopefully they read it and realize their customers don’t want this kind of treatment and it’s infuriating.
This is a message to every company that thinks using complete automated systems to handle customer issues is helpfull.
To PlayStation :Your stupid decisions to choose to use automated systems for your customers accounts is completely a bunch of bull$hit when a customer has their account hacked and stolen all you want to do is send them to some damn automated question AI that doesn’t help unless A you already know the solution.
Basicly put your damn question system asks questions that if A you the victim keep your origional PlayStation used to make the account I mean come on when your system breaks you replace it and throw the old one away no one keeps every dam system bought
2 your questions assume you can still access the email or phone number on the account Come on really hello the hackers who stole it know this and they change the email address and the phone number on the account to completely steal it take it over that’s the point of hacking it. So your question is dumb.3 you assume we can tell you the recent purchase. Right we can’t get in the account to see the purchases and if the thief steals the account they have access to the purchase info like what happens to me they stole my banking cards so the purchase I victim don’t know and 4 the thief changes vital questions answers on the form and installs authenticator thus locking the real owner out and you PlayStation company don’t give a $hitt about your customer the victim. You make your question purposely knowing the player will not be able to answer and be forced to buy new content all over again you simply don’t care. And your dumb system assumes everyone A keeps the hacked debit card that if they cancel it for fraud no one’s keeping it Toss it no way to validate and 5 you could help the customer by asking 3 simple questions but you don’t
What is the Ip address of the PlayStation you last logged in on at home you used before it was hacked ?
What country and state do you live in and play it on ?
Those 2 questions would allow you PlayStation to recognize hey this real owner lives in this state his card used matches his name and state his device is logged on the ip address In his state matching the owner and so obviously this is the real owner lets give him back his account.
Because he’s not moved to Bangladesh where the last logon ip obviously isn’t in the country the victim is In. Wow PlayStation you could get peoples accounts back this way you just choose not too
Thats why I won’t buy a PS5
Atleast microsoft helped me get my account back.
Advice Sony Get rid of the dam bots and turn the phone with human support on.
And to every company that doesn’t want to answer phones to help customers I refuse to buy your products.

The sm supermall staff is rude (some)
I like how the sm Megamall guard was fired if you disagree please read no irs still a fact the flower vendor cannot chose their human identity thats nature and her flowers is still real
Sm staff should switch jobs only the ones who want to work their job should be the right person
At least the furry event at sm that happened shows knows you can have fun even as adult not the fact the staff didn't know having fun in breaks is important
I emailed the manager they seem nice even if not perfect still better we found out that its really the staff who's fault, cuz she even said sorry cuz of another guard i met its not match when the sm branding is like nice but angry staff
Guards r supposed to protect not destroy flowers and kick could have just carried her away thats less painful
Yeah its been more than a year since that happened, so At least this wont turn to drama if it does then doesn't stop the fact we don't know who's 100% fault lets be real the vendor still selling physical flowers weather her cosplay is also for marketing bait as poor or real
I hope the sm manager and staff can find a way and staff should not be always serious its okay to have fun in life even if your adult
The megamall guard at the meantime works for security agency a third party company he could find another job there or its them who Actually banned and sm just announced it not them who done that we don't know whats happening behind the scenes but just cuz the guard seem to be just doing his job doesn't mean its innocent it just feels like

Spill the tea From European culture to SME culture in a quick one year
I work for this EU Headquarter company for 11 years. When life was good, we have understanding bosses, managers apologising us for urgent OTs, beneifts plenty, etc. Then came Covid, of course business is done, the same everywhere, but company managed to survived without layoff. So happy rite?
Fking wrong! Since Covid, business never recover. Big customers dropping contract left and right. Mainly cause of China flooding cheaper faster products. Then comes CEO quits. Departments restructuring every year. But we push on coz we like the company and its culture.
Then HQ decided to spin-off. We break away from big name major brand into something nobody heard of. Immediately, new COO implements return to office 4 days a week.
Then came our beloved SG management. Who we used to love for their flexibility, say HQ madates RTO, so they will now track everyone 4 days in office a must. They implement records of key card entry, and every week if you do not show up in records 4 times, you must justify. On MC, too bad. Monday public holiday? The rest of the week must be in office without WFH 1 day that week.
We still endure. But it gets worse. This week our beloved management said a lot of us are spending so much time on our phone during work hours and they will now track people who uses phone during work hours. And guess what, the week before they ban all AI tools in office and now forcing us to use in-house lousy AI tool or MS copilot. A lot of us are using phone to access to Chatgpt or Perplexity since in house tool suck.
At this rate, I can only think that they are purposely making us miserable to quit without severance pay so that only management team left in the end to close the location down with a nice severance package for their own happy retirement.

Question about working at National Biscuits, Muscat, Oman
My experience at National Biscuits in Muscat, Oman — something prospective employees should know
I’m sharing this because I genuinely wish I had spoken to more former employees before joining National Biscuits in Muscat, Oman.
During my time there, I went through a workplace incident that affected me much more deeply than I expected. During a dispute, personal information from my phone was accessed without my permission, and information from it was subsequently shown or discussed with other people.
For me, this was extremely distressing. My phone contained personal memories and private information, and having that privacy breached left me feeling completely exposed and terrified. Even months later, I still struggle with the anxiety and emotional impact of what happened. It affected my sleep, confidence, and ability to trust people.
I want to be clear that I am sharing my personal experience, not claiming that every employee at National Biscuits will have the same experience. I also don’t want to speculate about anyone’s intentions or make accusations that I cannot substantiate.
If you’re considering joining National Biscuits in Muscat, I would strongly recommend speaking privately with both current and former employees. Ask about management culture, employee privacy, grievance procedures, and how workplace disputes are handled.
A good salary and job title are important, but so are feeling safe, respected, and protected in your workplace.
Please do your own due diligence before accepting an offer.

How to balance the "bare minimum" - Act busy vs visibility
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
If I act busy and gatekeep a tool I used to automate my process am I shooting myself in the foot for promotion/ pay raise/ visibility?
It got me thinking regarding on how to gauge if I'm too ambitious at work vs I should act busy more.

Corporate MNC? or lala Company?
I work in a shift system (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM). If my manager is on leave, I am usually informed one day in advance to come for the morning shift, which is understandable.
However, even after I apply for and get approval for my leave, I still receive messages asking me to report for duty the next day. Most of the time, I have already planned personal and family commitments during my leave.
I feel that employees should be treated with respect and understanding. A leave day should be a genuine break unless there is a real emergency. When managers say, “I am your boss, you must do as I say,” it affects employee morale and work satisfaction.
Has anyone else experienced this? How do you handle such situations?

Spill the tea is this take discriminatory or nah?
hmm feels like if a workplace falls apart bc someone is taking their entitled childcare leave, perhaps its a staffing workload management issue rather than the issue of ppl having to care for their children?... 🥴

Kanasai Underpaid, overworked and feeling lost
Lost my job last year. Managed to get employed this year, felt relieved for even getting a job. But now wondering if it’s even worth it.
Getting paid very little compared to my YOE. Tried to fight for higher, but HR said no budget. Job market is very bad, so not much choice. Thought I could coast, but recently everyday is just fresh hell.
My sup is incompetent and I have to cover him. I wouldn’t say I’m doing his job, but at this point I’m doing much more than I’m paid to do.
While this is happening, these thoughts are living in my mind rent free:
- my progress compared to my peers is slow as I made a career switch. the low salary is an even bigger hit.
- unexpected things happen: currently SINK, married so can’t save as much = can’t replenish my savings from last year redundancy.
- constantly feeling like I’m not good enough — I don’t think/process/analyse on the same level, perhaps
Some silver linings:
- no kids lol
- no debt (besides credit card and house, but…)
- my CPF monthly payments are quite low
- still have regular, growing investments (low 6 figures) albeit I don’t put in as much now due to salary
When I was younger, I had the “sacrifices are worth it” mindset. As I get older, I want to be more selfish with my time and effort.
Curious to know if anyone is/was in a similar situation and how you are managing/managed to overcome this?
