Game News PSA- a friendly reminder, never patronize @First Press Games

The shmups community has been scammed; It’s been over 5 years and they have yet to release Crimzon Clover for the Nintendo switch. Please don’t ever patronize from them! EVER!

Please note: they have included “decision withdrawal “ prompt for this game. See pics 3 & 3. Has anyone gone through this process?

They did the same thing for a GBA Homebrew. Scammers for sure!

Of all the games to screw us over with, too.

Yeah, there is so much crap but one of the best shmups of all time is trapped by these thieves/liars. I like that the Chained Echoes dev found an alternative.

I demanded a refund for Neko Navy, which I preordered and paid for 5 years ago. They said sorry and then didn’t refund anything.

Same here for my chained echoes.

What's even wilder is there site says that game is in stock now. It's so messed up

I paid for my Crimzon Clover during the pandemic 💀

I still feel stupid for giving them money.

I so badly want that game man. I'm still amazed that Degica Games haven't done anything yet about that release...

Degica are no more, they rebranded to Komodo.

Well shoot that sucks.

At this time Crimson Clover is my most sought after Switch game and there's no telling if it'll ever be released... I have it digital or course, but the physical is what I want.

shouldn't make a difference, komodo hold the license after the rebrand. just interesting that the old branding is still on the site, shows how long people have been waiting

Yeah, I got the top tier one, too. Sad.

Hoooooly shit I completely forgot I spent like 100 bucks on the collectors edition of this game.

I ordered this over five years ago

Yeah, these scammers are the worst. I tried the “contract withdrawal” and got nothing but a loop of “no order found” for Crimson Clover.

I have the game on Steam, but at this point I’m done with the developer too. Like forget Komodo, they could have figured something out after 5 years. Garbage developer, garbage publisher.

Isn't kodomo the stream publisher?

Strictly Limited isn’t that much better. Been waiting on Eschatos for Switch for a couple years now. Somehow they did a second print of Mecha Ritz/Dezatopia but can’t get Eschatos done.

How is this legal? Has no one taken them to court? At the least, it feels like gaming news media should be reporting on this to bring it to light. 🤷‍♂️😠

"Contacted Paypal and my bank about this and they encouraged me to file a police report against FPG for internet fraud, which I have done.
I encourage everyone to do so!
North Rhine-Westphalia Online Police Portal is the way to go and you will find it very easily if you google it (add "internet fraud" as well to the search and you will get the right site right away). Do not hesitate, file that police report NOW! The more the better!
It is actually ILLEGAL for companies in the EU to deny a refund!"

Limited Run is kinda better. Still waiting on that Sonic X Shadow Generations CE. I will say though their Radiant Silvergun CE was good and came on time.

Physical copies are overrated to begin with. Nothing but physical trash to pile up into dumpsters one day.

Do your environment a favor and go digital only. You can make your own backups if you play on PC.

It's an unpopular opinion in niche gaming communities, but one that I'm coming around to. The physical space my collection has taken up is not insignificant and as I get older, I find that even my most prized titles sit on the shelf in favour of something I can just hit play on on Steam.

At this point too, emulation is usually a better experience, with some exceptions and so I find that I'd rather play something like Armored Core 2 on my PC than go through the effort of setting up my PS2 and using third party adapters to get it working on my modern, component and SCART-less displays.

Ultimately, my physical collection has started to just become a burden that I have to deal with during house moves. Also, I feel like the collection has stagnated as I play anything modern on Steam other than Nintendo exclusives and for retro stuff, I've been priced out of collecting really.

I've recently started to offload some stuff and it's going a long way to paying for my wedding, which is great.

Emulation is never the original experience.

No matter how closely replicated it is.

If you want to experience ac2 on PS2 properly, get a CRT. It will look a hell of a lot better.

Big facts.

1

u/idothinksotim 4h ago

No. If I'm paying for something I'm going to own it.

u/MediumWin8277 1h ago

Going physical doesn't guarantee you ownership to begin with. Not to mention physical games rot.

You were always going to have to make your own copies. That isn't something that physical disc's let you do readily. No matter what, you were always going to have to jailbreak your console to really ensure that you could keep anything long term.

Best to go to PC and make your own digital backups.

Well it does for most games unless you buy a gkc or disc launcher.

It's even possible to get switch games with all the updates on the cartridge.

Might want to check the platform EULA...

(By the way,  I wanted to clarify something. I don't talk about this stuff in order to win some kind of competition.I am more than capable of being wrong and admitting when I am. Many people think I'm a smug jerk, but in reality I am just very blunt and do my best to be factual.)

It literally is ownership.

That's how property law works.

I pay money for physical chattel, ownership transfers to me. I own my individual copy.

I think you need to understand how consoles work. Maybe have a look at the EULA sometime. What you're really doing is buying a license for that game, whether digital or physical, especially in the modern day.

Also, environmental issues supersede the importance of so-called "ownership".

The Electric Underground has a good video on this.
