Questions Which layering process, 1, 2, or 3, is most convenient/looks better as a finish vinyl project using Silhouette?
I'm planning to sell an SVG bundle on Etsy, and I'm still in the troubleshooting phase. Unfortunately I don't have a Silhouette cutter myself, and so I can't test to see which outcome turns out better. So I thought it was best to ask you guys for advice!
My concern is that the dots are quite small, and so they may cause issues for smaller projects.
This variation in particular is suited for larger scale projects (around 7 inch + for t-shirts etc), and so I'm asking in this context.
I'm concerned about issues regarding the following;
- Inconvenient weeding for the small dots
- Attempting to cut perfect white circles at such a small scale can cause tears, or mess up the design.
- Stiffness of finished vinyl product due to layering full patches on top of each other. I wouldn't want it to cause visible or distracting bumps either.
I'm not too worried about cutting small designs into the black layer. My understanding is that it's easier to cut out smaller negative space, rather than cut perfect shapes out of negative space without them being distorted.
If you believe this design is too intricate or delicate to cut, let me know! I may just upscale the smallest stars so they're easier to work with.
As for the smaller scale projects (<5 inches), I plan to have less stars, and to make them larger for convenience. I'll use feedback from this post as a reference point too.
Thanks!
