11-48T for the win!

Built this up from an old frame I had and went to
Town.

Took a Tsunami frame and built it into a single speed, mixing in spares from my old fixie with a few new parts. Happy with how it turned out.

I’ve had my mash work for years set up as a fixed gear with a front brake but I recently started a new job and my commute is now a 34 mile round trip 3 days a week.
I picked up an old Trek 520 because I figured I would need gears for a commute that long but I really don’t like the feeling at all compared to fixed gear so I’d rather put money into converting my mash work into a capable longer distance commuter.

Just after advice or comments from anyone who rides reasonable distances without gears. I figure I could convert to single speed and drop bars and it might be all I need but I really have no idea.

Problem after problem with this bike

Been adding parts from my bmx bike and Mtb here and there as I saw fit. Other than the 32mm rear tire I haven’t bought anything for it. Any recommendations for a rear rack? It doesn’t have any attachment points so I’ve been considering getting creative with wood and hose clamps but figured I’d see what’s up before I send it

Hey what's up guys, long time lurker, first time poster. I wanted to share a couple images of my Mark V.

I've had this frame since probably 2011 and ridden pretty consistently over the years, still in great shape, no issues besides cosmetic. The only thing that remains from my original build are probably the handlebars and the bottom bracket.

I recently upgraded to some H Plus Archetypes laced to Miche hubs from some second hand Alex rims I got from a friend. Night and day difference, the archetypes feel so much more responsive, agile etc. but I digress.

Once I got the new rims on I realized they made the rest of it look like crap so I installed some new brake levers and calipers. (Ignore the excess cable and housing in the back)

The only thing is I still need to install my White Industries freewheel, perhaps a slightly shorter stem, and then it'll be complete....for now.

Felt super locked in but I did find myself taking it a bit more cautious because I knew I couldn't just put a foot down if something happened. Been riding clipless on gravel/road for years but it is a little more scary on MTB. Definitely felt waaaay better on the climbs and never had to worry about where my feet were on descents, looking forward to gaining confidence and pushing harder!

Hey everyone,
I’m planning to buy a FabricBike Original (Hi-Ten steel fixie/singlespeed) but I’m really struggling to choose the right size.

My stats & use case:

Height: 183 cm (6'0")

Weight: 72 kg (158 lbs)

Use: Daily commuting to and from school. I'll be riding with a school backpack, so a comfortable, manageable position is preferred over a super aggressive track drop.

The dilemma:

According to the manufacturer's size chart:
Size M (53cm): for 170–180 cm

Size L (58cm): for 181–195 cm

At 183 cm, I theoretically belong on a size L. However, looking at the geometry chart, both M and L have the exact same effective top tube length (540 mm). The main difference is just the seat tube length (530 mm vs 580 mm) and the overall height of the frame.

Since I'll be commuting daily with a backpack, I want to avoid a massive saddle-to-bar drop on the M so my neck and lower back don't suffer. At the same time, I want to make sure the L isn't too tall in terms of standover height.

Does anyone have experience with how this specific frame fits? Should I definitely go with L for a slightly more upright ride, or is there a reason to size down to M given the identical top tube?

It was cheap, oddly of my size, rather complete*, so I got it. I've always fancied a rod brake bike.

It's got a flop flop hub!

I just need to work out what the missing part of the rear brake system is.

*missing parts are just the tubes, brake pads and the chain guard.

State black label built with mostly Chinese parts. My first road bike without gears. It currently sits at 19 lbs. my last road bike was 14.5 lbs. and pretty much carbon everything (only have carbon fork, bars, saddle, crank on this one). Honestly, can’t feel the weight difference. This bike rides so smooth. It was definitely a fun project!

I have a single speed frame with 120mm hub spacing. I’m not a fan of thread on freewheels which seem to be the only option for flip flop hubs. So I was wondering if I ran a bmx hub with 5mm spacers each side would this be fine, or will it mess with my chainline too much?

Picked up this bike a couple months ago for weight loss (5’8 ~250lbs) primarily it rides beautifully but the seat is very uncomfortable and the tires are absolutely dogshit they keep deflating without them being punctured so I was looking for some recommendations for:

Tires/ wheels
Seat
Possibly crankset and pedals

I will listen to any criticism I just wanna be pointed in the right direction thank you all

(ps. I bought the bike for $450 and I was aiming for a budget build until I get a better bike down the line I’m a beginner)

pretty stoked to finally have a steel frame again, especially in bumpy bangkok.
I still have to replace quill stem and seat post.
overall, i'm stoked!

Picked it up for £20 put about £30-40 into servicing and light modifications couldn’t ask for a better budget commuter. New tyres next

Loved my one speed but I moved and looking to buy a new one it’s been years since I’ve even looked, used to have a state bicycle which I loved and I’ve been looking at there 4130 line cause I’m a bigger boy and need little thicker tire to hold my fat ass, but now I have no idea what brands are good which are bad. Before you ask I’ve looked at my local shops they all fucking suck immediately tried steering me toward geared bikes instead of showing me single speeds…. Please help me!!!!

I love the colours and style of the Tsunami SNM100 so looking at ordering a frame from Aliexpress to England. A lot of people are saying that the frames do not go under quality control and you should not purchase. Other people say that the quality is amazing and their frames have lasted years.

I was wondering if people could recommend a seller that they have purchased from and used!

Alternatively if anyone else has any recommendations for other bikes please let me know!

Upgraded for the carbon wheel-set, SRAM S100 drivetrain, alloy pedals, and drop bars. Pretty sick out of the box and it weighs like, 20 pounds. First rides are impressively agile and smooth. Will report back with more updates 🫡

EDIT: I’m at about 12.5-13 pounds fully built. Today’s 20 km ride was quick and fun🫡🦝

Did it up with pretty much all second hand parts. Finally “polished” it up now that it’s all together. Never had an all silver/chrome bike as a kid, it’s actually cooler than I thought.
