Hi everyone! I have been rewatching Skins after not doing so for several years. I used to love it when I was a teenager and would just watch it all the time. It’s fun rewatching and realize I still know a few lines!
Anyways, I wanted to see if anyone knows what does it mean when Freddie asks Effy if she left something in the cab. He says “like a tap or something” and Effy says “a tap with your face on it” I never knew what it meant, and since English is not my first language and I can speak it better now and thought it would make sense now but it doesn’t. I was really hoping there was already a reddit post about this lol

The other day I was rewatching it (with the original soundtrack), and something that really threw me off was the ending. I was so sure the song playing was “This Is My City,” but instead, an Adele song played. Did I go crazy? Or did “This Is My City” ever play during Cassie’s episode?

By the way, I’m really curious about who actually performs it, because apparently it’s someone called Timothy Victor, but the voice sounds like a woman’s. There are comments on YouTube saying it’s Cassie’s actress, which seems weird to me.

Character #01: Ellen

A young woman with a strong personality, aloof and passionate, Ellen always speaks her mind, even if it causes pain to the people she cares about.

In many ways, she is similar to Cook and engages in self-destructive behaviors like drugs and partying, she gets good grades so the teachers at her school don't care about her bad behavior.

She has a problem with her father who, despite being well-intentioned, ends up encouraging her to suppress her emotions, which leads her to externalize them to her friends and people outside her family in unhealthy ways

Character #02: Carlos

A young man with a shy and kind personality, who always tries to protect his friends and his values as much as he can, he is also a transgender man.

His biggest dilemma is his sister Jessie, who needs constant care due to a chronic illness, forcing him to divide his attention between his group of friends and his sister, his parents died two years prior to the series events.

Character #03: Christie

A very intelligent and "well-behaved" young woman who lives in an abusive situation with her parents, who pressure her to pursue a career in medicine, leading her to use and abuse medication to improve her focus.

She and Ellen aren't very friendly, as they both envy each other and project their own problems onto one another, has secret crush on Carlos.

Character #04: Yong-Guk

A young man, the son of Korean immigrants, with an extroverted and confident personality who enjoys playing the piano, is highly sensitive about his sense of masculinity, and therefore acts like a jerk around girls but can't really confront other guys, making himself weak.

He has however great emotional intelligence that he hides and many of the guys somewhat lack.

Character #5: Lorena

Lorena is a spunky, tomboyish girl who is creative and publishes art under an anonymous account in social media, her character needs it to be validated by others through approval of behavior.

She struggles keeping friendships and hobbies if she people don't approve of her, she loathes herself for it, for lacking motivation in life.

Character #6: Graham

An intellectual with an egocentric personality who hides intense insecurity, she always likes to push others to their limits, especially Christie, whom he sees as a worse version of himself.

He ends up being the bully of his own younger brother, who is significantly more favored by his grandma because he is the first biological son, loves beer, and it is implied that he has NPD (narcissistic personality disorder).

I was thinking on making them being a somewhat high functioning group compared to the other 3 generations but are also somewhat messy as well.

I introduced the show to my sister (I stopped after season 3 episode 9). So her take briefly :

She pity Tony and loves him this season. She thinks he's going to go far in life with his mind. She also stays on the opinion that him and Sid weren't all that platonic.

She overall likes Sid and understand why he slept with Michelle in Skins 2. Because he was sad. She doesn't like Michelle and looks down on her, thinking she's the equivalent to a whore (also what she thought about Effy). She also think she was in the wrong for dancing and provoking the teacher in the Sketch episode and think Sketch ruined his life for no reasons (I mean Sketch did lie)

She liked Cassie in season 1 but then in season 2, by the end, she thinks Cassie is not in the right to feel the way she feels after Chris's death and that she should think about Sid. She likes Maaxie, Anwar (she was a bit mad because she hooked up with Sketch after what she did to Maaxie but quickly forgave him in the end). She really likes Chris and thought he needed immediate help after his first episode because his situation was truly worrying (also despite her love for Chris she thinks he had power over Angie because he could report it and that's the case with most teenagers but she hated Angie a lot but didn't mind the male teacher as much). She also likes Jal but heavily criticized her in her first episode saying she was too rude to her father and mostly started to like Jal after she and Chris started their love story.

S4E06 JJ is eliminated! First JJ episode to go.

Sorry a littel bit random but i just realise that michael' s sister is interpreted by Jessica sulla (gracie)

Main cast siblings only, so:

• Gen 1: Tony and Effy (She counts cause she has her own eps in the gen and gets wrapped in the other characters storylines throughout)
• Gen 2: Katie and Emily (no Tony/Effy cause Tony doesn't show up in gen2 eps, and no Freddie/Karen cause Karen doesn't have her own eps in the gen and only gets involved with the gang at the final ep)
• Gen 3: Matty and Nick (I know, I know--we hate gen 3...)

I'll go first...

Gen 1: I love how Tony and Effy are equally matched in personality and psychologically (see the Jung concept of anima and animus). They mirror one another, and are possibly the only other people they trust entirely and, literally, with their lives.

Gen 2: One of my favorite twin sister depictions in a tv show, even though they aren't my favorite individual characters. Katie and Emily aren't exact copies of one another, and because of that they act more like older sister-younger sister than copy-paste identical twins, which most people initially try to shoebox them into (like how Pandora introduces them to her mom). And that also makes it especially complicated when their parents try to work through their issues with both of them, because they are individual people not just a dual-package of daughters.

Gen 3: I'm always amazing how much hate these two get (and I see why, trust me, I see the MAJOR flaws in gen 3)... but the misfit vs jock brother dynamic is actually really interesting. That identity break helped blur the line of their ages (Matty being the older brother, Nick being the younger, but they are in the same year cause of Matty having trouble at school) even further. And I don't think Matty needed his own eps cause he usually shared a lot of storyline in eps with someone else like Liv or Nick.

S4E02 Emily is eliminated! Not everybody’s favorite twist in the Naomily relationship, it seems.
