Discussion Has anyone seen this! Is the 2.0 TDI 150 that efficient?
Just came across this wild story about a Skoda Superb breaking records. 1,759 miles on one tank? That's some serious efficiency!

Hallo zusammen,

Hi everyone! I came across this Kamiq from a dealership. It's a 1.5 TSI Automatic, Selection trim. From the looks of it, it has the Dynamic interrior option. Additionally, it says it has the technology pack with 8 speakers and Climatronic, amongst other things. As well as the convenience package with the back camera. The rims are 18" (a bit too much for my taste honestly). It's brand new and costs 56 000 BAM (or about 28 000 €.
So if anyone can help me out a bit:
I'm coming from the 2013 Golf mk 7 1.6 TDI (manual) Bluemotion, so a lot of things are different now
Is the engine reliable?
Is it frugal?
Is the sound quality good (when you adjust the bass in the EQ) ?
Is the Dynamic interior good or just a gimmick?
Is this a fair price?
And am I tripping or are the 18" alloys overkill?
Any question answered would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Back with Skoda after 18 years driving with other brands. 2016 Octavia 4x4 Scout.
Hi, another proud owner of a Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI MK3.5 here! ;)
I'm at around 190k km and decided to change both oils in my DQ200 gearbox. I know it doesn't have an official service interval like other DSG boxes, but after reading up on it, I decided to do it anyway. I've got the tools, the original VAG gearbox oil and mechatronic oil, and I know it's a fair amount of work. Planning to do it this weekend.
One thing has me confused though. I've watched a bunch of videos of people doing this same job (on different cars), and they do it differently when it comes to screws/washers:
How did you guys do it?
Also, are these OEs right for screws (N90215404, N10037105) and washers (N0438092, N0138275)?
Thanks!

I’m considering wrapping the side mirrors and the chrome grille in a shiny black to give the car a cleaner, sportier look.
What do you guys think — do it or keep the chrome? Any feedback is appreciated!

I am planning to buy a second hand car. I found the Skoda Octavia Wagon (NE series) with a single owner, 133000 in 12k with RWC. Has service history and timing belt replaced in Oct'25. Is it a good car to go ahead as I don't change cars frequently Or does this model have any major issues? Any major engine issues or specifics need to check? What would be its realistic fuel efficiency?

I’m considering buying a 2019 Skoda Kamiq 1.0 TSI 115 hp (manual) and would really appreciate some opinions from people who know these cars.
The car:
● 2019 Skoda Kamiq 1.0 TSI / 115 hp
● Manual
● ~105,000 km
● 999 cc
● 17” alloy wheels
● Grey metallic
● Cruise control
● Heated seats
● Asking price: €13,000
The car is being sold by a dealer in the Netherlands. I’m currently negotiating with them. The car is imported by the dealer, and has been maintained by him in the last 5 years and he was able to show me the entire maintenance history. Also the car was delivered in december 2019. So practically 2020 almost..
They initially included some additional costs/options, but I’m trying to keep the final price around €13k. I have initiated an official independent review of this car.
My main questions:

Has anyone tried this product on their TSI engines? It was recommended to me by a friend who swears by it's effectiveness. He used it on his 1.2 TSI engine and he is very happy.
Mine is a 1.4 TSI 150 hp czda engine code
Looking to buy a second hand compact crossover. Front runners are Mazda cx3 and the Skoda Kamiq. There seems to be plenty of the one litre Skoda kamiq’s. Anyone have experience with this model and engine? Can it handle occasional motorway use? Is it reliable? Any help is much appreciated.

I've found a good-looking car in elegance trim with half-leather seats being sold at 90.000Kč, which is approx. €3.750. The drawbacks are that one scrolling wheel on the steering wheel is cracked. One side of the front bumper has a small crack (but barely noticeable), and it has no service history.
The car is being sold in a second-hand dealership (AAA Auto). They are famous for selling good cars, but also often cars at a very overpriced price (given the condition of the said car).
I found via VIN that it was a taxi car for some period, and that would explain the high mileage. Should I give it a try or stay away?

My 2016 Rapid Spaceback 1.2 TSI has just thrown this code when the EPC light appeared, and it stinks of fuel. How bad is it likely to be? 🤞🏻

Hi everyone!
I ordered my Škoda Elroq 60 Selection on 17 July 2026.
Until today (1 September), the MyŠkoda app only showed “Ordered”. Today it changed to “Estimated delivery: October/November.”
When I ordered, my dealer told me the expected delivery would be week 41 (5–11 October).
For those of you who have been through this before:
Does this mean the car has been assigned an estimated production week, or does it mean the production week is now confirmed/locked?
I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who has gone through the same process with their new Skoda— especially what happened in your MyŠkoda app before and after you received your production week.

recently bought a new scala. wonderful car except my phone constantly loses Android Car connection. I frequently use waze to guide me, while playing Spotify.
currently OnePlus 15r, connecting by bluetooth.
it disconnects constantly, reconnects and I have to redo my gps, music,...
in a ride of 15 min, it goes out 9-13 times easily which makes the ride frustrating...

So I have a problem, where on start up, music doesn't play. Tried Tidal and Youtube Music. I press the play button, it shows that it plays for 2-3 seconds, no sound and then it pauses again. Software is updated, dealer service can't find any faults either, they just did a factory reset, but it didn't fix anything.
Quick workarounds - turning infotainment on and off or turning wifi on phone on and off, so the connection resets. These all work fine, but it would be ever better if it just worked. Anyone who had similar problems find fixes for it?

My 10 year old superb suddenly went into emergency mode with DSG gearbox fault.
I took it to a transmissions specialist and they ran diagnostics and sent me the report below and quoted me £4200 total to fix the forks, mechatronic, clutch plates and fly wheel.
I’m in a grey area of whether it’s worth repairing the car or just replacing it. I’d be looking at £10-12k minimum to get something similar mileage but younger unless I downgrade the car.
It’s a 1.4L petrol TSi SE with 91,000 miles.
What would you do?
—————
“The vehicle drove ok initially but defaulted after 10miles and loss drive completely. Multiple faults returned; P176A00 Gear actuator 1, P284D00 Shift fork A unrequested movement and B116229 Selector lever park position lock.
No ‘U’ codes, electrical faults, returned.
Fault code, P176A00 Gear Actuator 1, relates to the mechatronic component as originally discussed. However, fault P284D00 Shift fork A, relates to the internal fork detents/ mechanism, rather than mechatronic.
The mechatronic will require removal to inspection the transmission internally- we suspect the fork detents have failed and are stuck to the magnets on the mechatronic- blocking the signal.”

Hey everyone,
Looking for some advice on a low-speed squeaking/chirping sound on my 2021 Skoda Octavia 1.0 e-TEC mild-hybrid automatic (97,500 km).
The Symptoms:
- The squeak happens specifically at lower speeds while moving.
- It ONLY happens when the engine is running. If the car coasts and the engine shuts off (standard e-TEC engine-off coasting), the sound completely disappears instantly.
- The car shifts smoothly with no harsh gear changes.
What's Been Checked So Far:
- Brakes: Mechanic fully checked the brakes, pads, discs, and backplates—they are in good shape and NOT the source.
- Suspension/Wheel Bearings: Ruled out since the noise instantly vanishes when the engine cuts out while rolling.
Has anyone with a 1.0 e-TEC or similar VW Group mild-hybrid experienced this exact low-speed rotational squeak? What ended up being the fix?
I was able to record the sound so attached a video for it
Thanks in advance!

Evening.
I'll preface this by saying mechanics aren't my forte, im.a chef by trade.
Wife's 2018 2.0tdi Superb has been in for work a few months ago regarding loss of heating on drivers side amongst a few other unrelated things.
Coolant tank replaced. Heater matrix was replaced. Oil pump was replaced (none solved the issue).
Car has recently been going through 5l coolant a week, with no obvious signs, until I pulled off the engine cover and saw the pink residue on both the engine itself and the underside of the engine cover which looks like coolant has been spraying out from one of these pipes.
Which bit in the circled area should I be looking at to replace?
TIA.
