PC SSE - Help Downgrading question

I recently got everything set up (mo2, skse and such) but i realised that some other essential mods still need a version update because of the new patch. Is it safe to downgrade after i've set up mo2 and such or should i just wait?

Also any of you playing with the current new version, are you having any troubles?

MO2 doesn't care which version it's managing. Obviously, SKSE needs to match, but MO2 is perfectly happy with whatever version you point it toward, and doesn't care if you change what's in the game tree.

Would you suggest downgrading? It's my first modding experience so idrk if I should wait and how much I would have to wait for some mods to work.

I don't plan on doing a first play through bloated with mods.

Depends on your mods. There are still broken SKSE-based mods, and there's no way to know when they'll be updated. If you use those, rolling back is the only option if you want to continue to play what you had 2 weeks ago.

I would of course have to install the older version for mods, the ones before the patch right?

Also whenever I decide to upgrade back to the new version, I'll have to redo the skse new version installation and all the mods will break but could I just update them to the most recent version through mo2 without uninstalling and reinstalling them?

One last thing. When I will upgrade back to the new version and change skse version, is my save file going to get corrupted or something?

You can also use the newer version that supports the version you want to downgrade to (e.g., 1.6.1170.0) if they're available. Just be sure to check out the Posts tab for any reported issues on the newer version. If there are, then you'll need to use the version before the update.

To be safe I guess that it's better using the version before the update. Also as I mentioned before can I just update the mods through mo2 when I upgrade back and mods will (eventually) be up to date? And will I lose my save file when upgrading back?

It's just like any other update-this-mod action, so you have to look at the mod page to see what it says about updating the mod. I'd be surprised if any mods rebuilt for the 1.7.x game had non-backward-compatible changes, but it's possible.
