I've heard anecdotally that extreme stances have trouble with fast entry - both FASE and StepOn. I typically ride +21/-21 and 20 inches between the bindings but I'd like to try both StepOn and FASE. Is there anyone with more pronounced duck footed and slightly wide stances who can share experience with StepOn and FASE?

im missing one :( to be specific its a nitro beast 24/25, the first one is my new board but boots and binding still have to arrive, second one i won it at a rail jam and the beast i used it this season and the last was my first “sponsor “ board and my current air bag board, i might sell the drake board i never used it and i don’t plan on using it but im not sure because it the first board that i won in comp, ps if your ever in italy go and check out uainot mountain shop he has everything specifically nitro burton needeker 32 vans union oakley beyond medals and plenty more

Hey y'all, I was thinking of booking a trip for January/february with my dad. Last year we went to Snowbird, and that was too difficult for him. So I'm in need of a good rec that das some variable terrain, but plenty of good blues. I went to Copper last year as well, and I thought that was good, but idk how good it would be in jan/feb. So any ideas? I was thinking about Grand Targhee but really open to anything.

i don’t really know what is the base level here on redid, but i am trying these tricks for next season and i wanted an option if it’s good enough to send back 12 front 12 and front 14, ps i do i tried front double 14 on bag, but triple is so much easier but still really scary even tho on bag i landed it more than once, if you want i can show what i can do on snow so you can better understand:)

I have the ability to spend this winter in Pagosa Springs, CO or Crested Butte, Co and with the long range forecast, I'm feeling pretty stoked.

Pagosa will probably get better snow because it's a magical snow god vortex up there, but CB offers more community because I have two friends in CB.

I'll be fresh out of a divorce, so I'm leaning towards CB because of my friends. One of them is an old riding buddy and would be good to have somebody who's been there for a few years to show me around/introduce me to people. I don't plan on doing much besides snowboarding, work (remote), working out, and the occasional night out. CB has the free shuttle up to the mountain taboot where in Pagosa I would be driving a lot more.

Any insight or thoughts here?

Was living in the PNW the past few years but recently moved back to TN. I grew up here but didn't get into snowboarding until I moved out west. Now that I'm back, I'm not familiar with where to go that'd be worth the trip. I've heard of snowshoe and timberline in WV but that's honestly pretty much it.

My south easterners, where do you guys go? More northeast? Take trips out west? I'm a nurse so I get a decent amount of 4-7 day stretches off. Tell me how you guys spend your seasons!

Hey all, I have a ski trip planned to Big Sky Montana from December 30th - January 3rd. Planning on skiing 3 days starting on New Year’s Eve. How is Big Sky around this time for anyone who has been? Are the lines crazy or will we be fine once the day gets going a bit? Thanks!

My son and I are planning to go to Banff this winter. He is just coming off the beginner/bunny slopes, he has done a few regular green runs. I’m wondering if one of these would be better than the other for someone at his level.

Mostly self-filmed spots from last winter that were a mix of fun and scary. Thanks to Fern for hiking a mile out into the woods with me for the last log.

I'm going to be working 5 months in the Alps and my current gloves are 10 years old, in great need of replacing. I want mittens and I've seen a number of suggested brands (Hestra, Crab Grab, Burton, Dakine etc) but I'd like to hear your thoughts/experience of brands. Budget up to £100ish

I’ve only been snowboarding for a couple of seasons and a max of 7 days in one season. I absolutely love it and plan to move somewhere where I can go much more frequently. I ride a capita doa currently and like it for ripping down groomed runs which is all I do right now. I feel like I’m progressing pretty fast and really want to be comfortable riding switch but it’s hard to commit to a day of riding switch when all I have to do is flip around and I’m way more comfortable. I feel like trading my doa for a directional board and setting up my bindings for switch before a trip would help me learn and get comfortable so much faster and was curious if this is something people do or would recommend?

I live in Denver. My uncle lives in Steamboat. My best friend (who is the person I ski with 90% of the time I go with people) is going Keystone Plus, but he's having a kid here soon so I don't even know how much he'll be able to go.

I personally love the Ikon mountains. Copper is incredible, ABasin is great on a weekday, Eldora is nice to have when I'm not feeling i70 traffic and just want to hit their little park. Winter Park is an awesome vibe. And I can plan around huge storms to go up to Steamboat since they have an open guest room. Might even be able to scoot over to Aspen for a weekend.

I'm trying to save as much money as I can this year so I'm not gonna drop anything on out of state or country trips. If I went Ikon I feel like I'd do the full Ikon pass so I'd have unlimited at Steamboat.

I love snowboarding but it's not as fun going solo.

Hey everyone, I’m looking to get some new bindings and boots. I’ve been stuck in the Burton step on ecosystem for the past few years and I’ve loved it, but I just picked up a gnu rc c3 for super cheap and am looking to get some bindings and boots for it. I was originally looking to get the union atlas step ons, but I’ve decided I really want to just have a setup that isn’t step on. I’m 5 8 145. Intermediate-Advanced rider. Love charging the mountain, carving, going fast, hitting side hits, trees, and occasionally hit some features in the park. So maybe a stiffer all mountain bindings.

So far I’ve been looking at bindings like Union atlas, Rome Katana, and Salomon Highlander. Just looking for some thoughts on these options and any other recommendations that would be the right fit for me

I can’t find a single one for sale I ride anything 156w - 160w

I just finished my first season snowboarding at Whistler and I’m looking to buy my first board for next season. By the end of the season I was comfortably linking turns on blues and starting to throw myself down blacks, so I’m looking for something that will help me progress without becoming a limitation as I improve.

I’ve already paid for board recommendations from The Angry Snowboarder and The Good Ride, and I’ve also posted on Reddit, but I’m still having a hard time making the final decision.

I have zero interest in freestyle or the park. My main goals are improving my carving, getting more confident on steeper terrain, riding trees, groomers, and eventually being able to comfortably ride pretty much anywhere on the mountain. I’m looking for a true one-board quiver killer that can handle Whistler’s variable conditions, including firm/icy days, while still being fun when we get good snow.

At this point I’ve narrowed it down to the Rome Ravine and K2 Passport. Both seem like they could be boards I can grow into rather than something I’ll outgrow after a season or two.

For anyone who has ridden either (or both), how do they compare for someone at my level? Which would you choose for Whistler if you had to pick one as your only board?

I’m particularly interested in how they compare for edge hold on firm snow, carving, trees, steeps, versatility, and progression. I’m also open to hearing about other boards I should consider if you think I’m overlooking something.
