News Gastón Edul: Julián Álvarez will stay at Atlético Madrid this window. He has rejected several offers, driven by his firm refusal to live in England and his desire to join Barça. This story is likely to run until January.
soydelmillo.comThe matter is settled: Julián Álvarez confirms his future after Barcelona offer
Gastón Edul put an end to the speculation and revealed where La Araña will continue his career.
Julián Álvarez has put an end to the speculation after emerging as Barcelona’s top target in the transfer market. Faced with Atlético Madrid’s firm stance, he has confirmed that he will remain at the club for another season under Diego Simeone. Gastón Edul revealed the news on Tuesday morning, bringing a pause to the transfer saga that had kept all of Europe and Argentina on edge.
In recent days, Julián Álvarez had been pushing to continue his career at Barcelona. However, Atlético Madrid’s hierarchy remained inflexible and refused to budge. They rejected every offer from Barcelona for the former River player, leaving a move to the Premier League as the only remaining option for the World Cup winner.
However, the striker put the brakes on that possibility and rejected a move to Arsenal.
“Julián Álvarez will remain at Atlético Madrid. It is a ‘personal’ decision he has made after rejecting not only Arsenal, but also other offers. Today, he is training with the team. Once the rest of the players finish, he will have an individual session with Luis Piñedo to catch up with the squad,” journalist Belén Sánchez García confirmed.
The news was not limited to reports from Spain. Gastón Edul, the journalist who closely follows the Argentina national team, also confirmed that La Araña will not be moving elsewhere in the short term.
“Julián Álvarez will remain at Atlético Madrid during this summer transfer window,” the journalist said on Tuesday morning.
When will Julián Álvarez’s future change?
According to ESPN, the saga between Julián and Barcelona will have more chapters in the coming months, meaning he will have to keep waiting for the chance to play alongside Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.
“Barcelona has already informed the Argentine that it will only resume attempts to sign him in the next transfer window. At this point, it seems practically impossible for Julián to leave Atlético Madrid, so he would remain at the club for at least the next six months,” the outlet reported.
