Discussion AI aim
Clearly it isn't changed which is a huge bummer. Shotguns hitting you perfectly at 100's of yards, bullets constantly being fired at you behind some walls, etc. I love this game but why do some gunfights feel like im just trading punches? The second I peek, a bullet impacts. So every gunfight devolves into shoot, heal, shoot, heal. Will this ever be addressed or is this game just dead in the AI update aspect?

Assult on Duga quest felt like a humiliation ritual that many guns on me at once was brutal, theyll snipe me with stray AR rounds and 3 tap me its insane.

Easily one of the worst parts of this game. Getting sniped by shotguns from across a long field is so stupid. Even though the damage is minimal, the blood splatter and everything is still completely immersion breaking.

I'd say it is much better than it was when I first played on 1.5. You can sneak on enemies in foliage & small trees, you can change position and flank them while they are expect you in preciously seen location. But yeah, once they see you and you don't move much - they will hit you easily.
I think the system needs to be based on "rank" of NPCs. Some thugs would be badly trained and bad at shooting mid/long distances, while mercs for example should be more skilled and have great aim.

I agree. Stalker AI has always been aimbot-y but the range some of these dudes have with buckshot is quite something.

I hate how they prefire you sometimes. It feels more like a damage check that you have to take rather than an actual fight

The accuracy and range is immersion breaking.

have you play it recently? i could agree with you, years ago, about release version.
now human enemies feel underwhelming tbh

I just started a few days ago and I'm getting shot from crazy distances with everything including buckshot rounds. Makes no sense.

but buck fragment does 0 damage from afar. damage dropoff is insane on those.
why doesnt make sense that sonetimes one of those hit you tho?

I spotted a dude through the gap of an open door. Not rhe gap in the acrual door way, large enough for a human to walk through.
But the gap between the back thin edge of the door as it sits closest to the wall when its opened. The gap was like 10cm wide. I was getting lasered through that gap....WTF is up with their programming or coding? Even on Rookie they dont miss, and can shoot you through any tiny gap that has a hole big enough to be classed as a hole...

To be fair, the shotguns at that range seem to do fuck all damage to me

weapons have same spread on enemies as they have on you. enemy reaction time is rather very slow compared to average shooter too. enemy awareness is one of a lobsters, get out of sight, sprint for 3 seconds, here youre flanking them and they ignore the undilenced gunshots.
its really super easy encounters. you should only worry about not fighting against 10 guys in close-mid range in a plain field, not that such situation is very possible.

You literally cannot be hit from "100's of yards" because NPCs go into offline mode once they're outside the 100m render bubble 😂
If you keep re-peeking the same corner, you're going to get shot in the face a lot. In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games going back to the very beginning, NPCs continue to move and shoot at the last place they saw you. One or two might try to flank that position. You can use this to your advantage.
Have you tried repositioning to flank them instead of staying static? It's easier than ever to break line of sight. The enemies will keep moving and shooting towards where they saw you last. Shoot, flank them, pick them off one by one with headshots, don't re-peek corners.
The NPCs' tactics aren't that complex, I think you need to try some new ones yourself.

I wouldn't even called it AI. It's absolutely and literally the worst in history of gaming and the fact that devs are unable to do anything about it says it all.
I revisit the game after 2.0 and uninstall after few hours. Enemies have aimbot with wall hack all the time, but only when attacking you. Go try to llok when they fight other NPCs or mutants. They are absolutely unable to hit each other, but moment they noticed you = headshot with buckshit trough concrete wall, 3 trees and 30 meters of foliage, no problem
Stalker 2 isn't game. It's tech demo and plays like shit

Yeah the gunfight (mostly Ai aiming) is one of the thing I don’t really like rest of the game is awesome but for a game like that …. It’s kind of important
