Build I made a DM screen from scratch!!

Post image

It's currently got some resources in there from this sub but I can swap those out, I made it all from scratch (save the sheets) with some tape, LED lights and some cardboard!

I'm a first time DM and I'm hoping it'll bring some atmosphere to my campaign, my players love the idea so far! I was also not paying for a DM screen, all things I've sourced for my campaign have either been handmade or found (such as a cool cigar box I bargained for to be my dice rolling box!). Really I wanted something to make and that could be personalized for my needs as being new to the role I'll need all the help I can get, and I could be a little extra with it. As well as help introduce new players to the mechanics. Overall everything must've been under... £10? Lights were cheap, most was the spray paint. I even got the box for free from my folks! Overall I'm very proud of myself and hope I can set a good ambiance for my players!

Those lights would hurt my eyes... If there was a way to make the backing behind the sheets glow with uniform light, that would be sick. But the bright green... if it works for you, great.

It has a good few colours, and I can dim them if need be. I'm lucky my glasses have anti-glare but I have been recommended to get a light diffuser which I'm considering!

it IS a vibe, but with how bright that is I personally would only use it for dramatic enphisis (have it flash red when the ship is low on health, ect)

But i am also developing "old man eyes" so that might not be an issue for you

Haha thank you! Oh yeah, I don't plan on overdoing it for sure, there are also dimmer options on the remote which is good at least. I also have glasses specifically for lights like this so hopefully they manage to do some good 😂 either that or I'm definitely bothering my optician
