Discussion Greg was such a bad father in this episode
If only Greg had thought about renting an apartment, or by applying for some assistance he could have spent time with Steven if he felt this way. Greg really got on my nerves in this warp whistle episode with how he was doing the thing that the gems told him not to do which is to not interfere with gem stuff as he didn’t use the warp whistle for an actual emergency and Steven’s emotional stress caused him to lose his healing powers temporarily.
It’s like one of those moments where Greg along with the gems put their needs first above Steven’s as Greg brought up the possibility of preventing Steven from going on gem missions to later abandon that idea.

Discussion This is probably a dumb question, but how would I go about doing this with my van?
I don't have it yet, but i'm doing research into getting the same model as Greg's Van and doing something like this with it. So... how would I go about doing this? Would paint work? Or would wrapping it be better?

Humor In hindsight, Yellow Diamond was actually being ridiculously kind with Peridot during "Message Received" until Peri started defending the Earth
Because Peridot admitted to ACCIDENTALLY DESTROYING the ship she was given for her mission (a massive waste of resources) and didn't have an explanation as to what happened to Jasper (a PERFECT Quartz, valuable enough to send a whole squad to rescue her) and Yellow Diamond was still willing to send another ship to save Peridot from the Cluster and send her to her next assignment. Didn't even ask what happened to Lapis.
This is the equivalent of an employee being sent on a business trip with the company car and two other coworkers and then that employee crashed the fucking car to smithereens, let the two coworkers vanish without a trace, and then called the CEO after several days spent MIA to sheepishly ask for an Uber to be sent to their location. And the CEO is just like "yeah sure, fine, I'll see you at work tomorrow."
Peri was lucky because if she belonged to Blue Diamond instead, Blue would've only sent a rescue ship just so her gem could be brought back to Homeworld to be shattered.

Theory If we go based off the way Amethyst plays the drums, she is left-handed.

Discussion Everyone talks about the "terrifying renegade Pearl", but imo fighting Rose must've also been nightmarish
Quartzes were used as medium to low ranking infantry and guards, so not useless fodder but also nothing straight up insane.
Rose, however, was a Diamond. Most likely the weakest of them all, but still a Diamond. That would obviously surpass any type of Gem, and by an enormous margin too most probably.
Can you imagine how Homeworld soldiers were feeling at the beginning of the war? To them, Rose was just a particularly brave rebel that was surely gonna get annihilated... extremely loud WRONG buzzer goes off
I think that IRL it'd be like: you and some of your friends jump a seemingly normal guy that's been messing with you, only for him to punch a hole through your hb's torso. Ngl that'd send me mental

Discussion I do have to wonder what Sadie and Jamie are thinking here
And Onion too who's off screen.
This is the kid who's mostly been positive and upbeat around them, literally signing himself off to never be seen again, and probably die
We mostly hear Connie and the Gems argue with him but I think they're just in shock (and have no idea what the context is for going on)
Oh and Sadie is probably thinking about Lars too, but still like I wish we knew what the other Beach City residents thought of potentially never seeing Steven again
That must be traumatic, especially since again he's a human child
And for Onion, who is off screen, Steven was one of his only friends when his others are gone for the season and he's an ACTUAL child, Onion is a pretty messed up individual oftentimes but I feel like it'd be pretty traumatic

Other Mothers of the year
Sometimes I see people comparing Garnet and Pearl as characters, it's usually pretty one-sided too. Just as an excuse to put Pearl down because Garnet is "Objectively the better mom", do we have to make this a competition? Can't we just love both of them and appreciate what both of them do as motherly figures to Steven?

Other Steven Universe villains ranked #22 - Morganite
The important distinction is that Morganite's backstory is largely from a scrapped Steven Universe Future story, rather than something fully depicted onscreen. But the planned story is still remarkably clear: Rhodonite's Pearl and Ruby were repeatedly rejuvenated after Morganite discovered their fusion, with the two repeatedly falling in love and finding each other again despite their memories being erased. After the final discovery, Morganite replaced them and intended to have them shattered.
That makes Morganite's treatment of them far more personal and disturbing than ordinary Homeworld rule-enforcement. She wasn't simply saying, "Fusion is forbidden." She repeatedly tried to erase the very relationship that caused the "problem." And when that failed, she decided the original Gems themselves were disposable.
That's a huge thematic point in her favor as a villain: Morganite represents Homeworld's belief that a Gem's identity and relationships are subordinate to their assigned purpose. Rhodonite's anxiety and fear as an Off Color give the backstory additional weight, even though the original Morganite storyline was never actually animated.
She ranks here though, because we never actually got to see Morganite operate as a villain. Her characterization comes from Rhodonite's account and the abandoned story materials. That makes her conceptually one of the nastier villains here, but the characters above her, which i'll get to have actual onscreen antagonist material to judge. So Morganite jumps above Emerald.
(I did expand her lore by having the scrapped story take place between the movie & future. I also made her responsible for creating the bio-poison injector, and gave her an actual confrontation between her & Rhodonite. But for someone who was an antagonistic force more than anything else... yeah. It's best she rank here.)

Fanart More of my Phoenix Lapis Lazuli! - (Art by Me)
Just a few quick sketches of Phoenix, very simple indeed. In one of them, I decided to demonstrate the fire wings she can summon, since I'm sure you can all imagine the water wings she can summon haha
Also I struggled a lot drawing her in a cool flying pose lol seems I like to torture myself
My art Instagram (kind of dead): @Babekiins (also my Twitter)
~
P.s.: I am not accepting art commissions at the moment!

Discussion What fusion that never happened, but you would loved to see?
There's so many fusions that could happen but we didn't saw, like Lapis and Peridot, or Steven with them, Blue and Yellow Diamond, and a lot more. What's your favorite fusion that never happened?

Question Did you have a Steven Universe AU/OC? If so, tell me!
My kid got into Steven universe and I’m remembering all of the things I made when I was much younger. asked my friends about theirs and even people who I never thought had an interest in SU or fandom spaces even had their own gemsona’s or just OC’s for beach city.
Did you have an OC or an AU that you just never shared? You never wrote it, drew it, or talked about it? If so I’d love to hear more people’s AU’s.
When I was like 13-ish I had a black diamond au (much like other edgelords my age) with a Mary-sue half-gemson, but instead of black diamond being like pink and having a kid, it was an onyx, made a whole storyline about it and built on it for two years until (again, like an edgelord) I decided that Steven universe wasn’t for people my age.

Discussion Connie fought surprisingly well against a single Topaz
Especially for an elite Gem, Even when they were fused into the bigger Topaz Steven and Connie distracted them effectively even while Steven was completely distracted on his own thoughts
So I believe if she were to partake in a process that combines your being with another entity, maybe Steven to make you bigger and stronger and forming a greater whole they could have gotten them out of the way, especially considering they possess a sword that can poof almost any gem
Perhaps a strong tactic to make weaker entities stronger, a tactic Connie suggested long before Aquamarine even got involved, who wasn't even paying attention to what was going on
Which is something that would be useful to take advantage of when you're a powerful agile smaller fusion gem compared to a giant, non-moving because she's holding the ship in place but we know she can defeat Aquamarine if she wasn't trying to not harm the humans because she literally slammed a fusion containing her into the dirt with no effort fusion
Who can also float up to Aquamarine's seat from behind
Actually even without Stevonnie, Steven has a projectile weapon, that's actually meant to be a defensive weapon but like Stevonnie could probably aim for Aquamarine's hair to knock the bow thing out of it
Or just knock her out to begin with
There are like a million options that are not
Give up and die, Aquamarine's weapon is powerful but like she wasn't immediately fighting, Topaz was and Aquamarine was distracted
(And also if Alexandrite wasn't trying to not crush the humans to death she could have 100% totalled the ship with Sardonyx's hammer)
Though Steven's Bubble probably could have helped them survive that (well Lars wouldn't)
Honestly they could have coordinated better
Anyway the point of this post is that there were in fact options and it would not be hopeless if Steven and Connie fused like Connie suggested
Martyrdom is not the only answer, just get creative
Steven was not in the right headspace I get it, I just don't think it's the only answer like people out of universe keep suggesting it is, and Steven giving up before the fight even started and not listening to Connie's suggestion was in fact the wrong choice

Callback Can we talk about Topaz for a sec?
She finally got away from Aquamarine as of Future, she's just living it up in era three. Peacefully spending time fused, going on tours, and even attending Little Homeschool I believe. She was in Garnet's yoga class. Topaz at first was very quiet yet intimidating. Once she starts opening up though, she's shown to be very kind and soft-spoken. Also having a sweet voice, she's the opposite of Aquamarine who's very nasty and heartless. Aquamarine ended up manipulating Topaz into staying loyal to Homeworld, I'm glad she finally did get to break free from her... abuser? I don't think Aquamarine ever tried physically harming Topaz but she was verbally abusive towards her.
