Handpoked over two sessions at Elswad Studio in Washington DC 🖤 Done with kwadron 5RL, 9TRL and 18RL and dynamic greywash 40% and 80%

This is a memorial tattoo. About 30 of my family members all got this Coors mountain to remember a family member who passed away a couple months ago. Well I decided to stick and poke it. Looking at it the top mountain is more chunky than I'd like and the bottom isn't swooped enough. I did this on the back of my ankle so that was a challenge on its own. 😅 But nonetheless I love it. ❤️

Hello. I'm a beginner at handpoke. I've tattooed on real skin already but I don't get the opportunity to do that very often. So I want to practice on fake skin more often to remember how to tattoo, improve and see how my designs turn out. But fake skin is very annoying to work with. The fake skin I've tried before is not the cheapest kind and is 3mm. I've heard that reelskin is the best brand but I'm wondering if it would really make that much of a difference? It's kinda pricey so I wanted to ask for opinions from people who tried it before I purchase for myself

Hi! I've been doing stick n pokes for a while now, and I've realized my work could be elevated with better needles. Are there any quality places to get a decent amount for a good price? I'm prepared to spend a bit more on higher quality, but I also like working with different needle sizes so I don't want to blow everything on just one!

My most frequently used are 3rl, 5rl, 7rl, and 9rl! Thanks!

Done by me, on me. Used 9rl and 12 flat magnum. Still learning the shading techniques and using magnums.

I'm a 36 year old male who, due to raising a family (no resentment, just reality), does not have the disposable income to get tattoos. I've been searching for independent artists in the area, but at the moment, even that is out of my financial grasp, and it seems most have moved out of their trailer studios and onto better things.

I have two S.N.P. tattoos, both of which I am pleased with, performed by a close friend. I am thinking, it may be time to delve into the arts myself.

Artistically, I definitely lean into my slightly tremorous hands and do a lot of ghostly, scribbly drawings, and while I'm not sure my hands are steady enough to use a real tattoo gun, I know that I can trace in depth/pressure dependent pointillism to create great works. Jokes, btw, I know stick and poke isn't pointillism.

What would I need to get started, and what are the best ways to practice? If we're jumping straight into it though, what's a quick line-up on the gear necessary to get started?

I want to be covered from neck to ankle, but the more I can do myself, likely, the more I will save in the long run, especially if I don't immediately regret it, lol.
