Optimization or Alternatives to OBS

Hello r/streaming!

So, I have a i5-6500 and a Nvidia Quadro K2200. When I try recording or streaming, my FPS tanks. The only program I can use without problems for recording is NVIDIA itself. What should I do if I want to stream?

OBS is the standard and really lightweight. You need an upgrade if it can't handle OBS.

Edit: the GPU you listed is extremely outdated and can barely handle 1080p gaming, let alone streaming.

I can remember that my I7 2600k ( 2013 ) had problems with OBS with 60fps, so first you should check if it actually is always overloading due to a new version problem/ unoptimization. I would suggest to try and record on 30fps and if it still persists, it's something wrong with OBS.

also obs isn't the standard and quality as it used to be, the last decent version IMO is 31.1.0-rc1 <- and even in this version most of my plugins don't work anymore. but after this even I with a 16-core have problems sometimes, and I'm not in the habit to check everything every-time there is a small update.

try and find a stable version that works for you, and stick with that particular one until you have the time and energy to try out a newer version that might complicate things/workflows.
