Play by Post or other Discords?
The only type of ttrpg I can play currently is play by post or other types of online servers, does anyone know of a good one for SW5e?

Hi im currently playing sw5e and do too reasons I making a new character my dm is suggesting I use both of the sentinel fighting styles and another player said do a guardian now I like both of the sentinel fighting styles and i think it works well with my race Besalisk but im not sure if I should play guardian as a number of its features give Me bonus actions such as the subclasses, give you different stances plus also, the lightsaber forms. but I need my bonus action for the fighting style mastery sentinel the question i'm trying to ask is should I play a guardian and just be strategic with how I use my bonus and regular action or should i just play a different class
Ps. Doing the Sentinel fighting style build is non negotiable same with my race

Hello all! My DnD group is doing our first run for the SW5E system and I'm having trouble figuring out if the ideas I have for my build are viable and going to be fun. I will be our only force user to my knowledge. I think I want to do a build with powers like Animate Weapon as a focal point while also being a viable dualist. There are so many options I'm not exactly sure where to go. I'm thinking Guardian or Consular to be viable frontline but not sure what archetype. I will probably figure stuff like species out after I have a working idea for the overall clas build. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
My group has played some of the FFG/Edge SWRPG, and enjoyed it! it's very different from base 5e, which we've also played a ton of and are in general more familiar with.
We've discussed migrating our campaign over from SWRPG to SW5e. Make the case to me! I'm curious what it is about the SW5e system that makes people prefer it over SWRPG

Hi, I am new to SW5e and will be doing a fairly short 4-6 session campaign idea set in the Old Republic era with teens joining as Jedi Initiates late and the goal being to become full padawans and build a lightsaber (with other misc relics and such to find). My question is how best to handle characters who start as a Fighter (back story is they grew up with bounty hunters) and is now being trained in the ways of the force. Would you suggest multiclassing to start as 1st level Fighter and 1st level Consular, for example? Or for such a short campaign is it better to just have them be a Fighter with two force powers since they haven't learned too much yet? I am leaning towards the former in order to avoid home brew rule changes too much.
I am open to suggestions. Curious what other have done.

Was seeking some help on building my new character I've been building.
Cathar operative,
I was thinking Gunslinger and Scrapper for the Architype, wanted a blaster focused character.
Stats are
S: 8 D: 17 C: 12 I: 15 W: 10 C: 14.
Smuggler background, Feat Force of Personality.
I was wondering what Exploits people recommended to take. for each architype, maybe fighting styles would work well. and some feats to pick up along the way.
As well I was wondering how to reliably get the burst and Rapid if i picked scrapper since its so limited on the weapon selection?
Thanks for anyone who responds!
Edit: Also why is the Scrapper save for their attacks using Charisma when the rest are Dex is it a mistake?

Some of my regular D&D players are going to be MIA the next few months, so I'm thinking of taking a break from that and running a smaller 10ish session game. The idea is set during the Galactic Civil War on the planet of Dantooine. After the Battle of Yavin, the Imperials occupy the old Rebel base there. I was thinking that maybe there some important intel or something that was accidently left behind and the Rebel command has sent an infiltration unit (no force users among them) to land on the planet, discover a way in, recover the data/object, and escape the planet. Now I just need help or inspiration to fill out the area the players will be in. Here are some ideas I already have and could use help expanding things on:
These are the ideas I have so far, but I would welcome any new ideas that someone might come up with as well. Mostly trying to come up with enough stuff for a roughly 2-3 month campaign.

Hello :)
I'm creating a character and was looking for advice on classes and archetypes.
I have always loved the political side/the Senate of Star Wars. And I am wanting to create a character who is a political aide, or aide of a senator. My character is also a female Twi'lek.
I'm not really sure what to do with her in terms of classes etc.
Any advice would be much appreciated :)

I've just discovered this system and I like it a lot, especially how it converts a lot of D&D stuff into Star Wars friendly material. But one thing stuck out to me, why are so many of the healing powers able to be done at range?
"Healing" in Star Wars is either done via Force abilities or by bacta/kolto enhanced first aid, all of which is done via physical contact: a bacta patch, a stimpack, ect. Meanwhile, many of the healing powers, especially the tech powers that I've seen, are able to be done at a range of 60 feet! What is that even supposed to look like in a Star Wars setting?
I understand most of these powers are converting D&D spells, but I don't really understand why the system didn't seem to account for the different in-universe mechanics for healing wounds.

Hi, new player here, and I am playing a Taung Mandalorian fighter during the old republic era (couple years after Mandalorians defeated at Malachor Vby Revan)in our first campaign trying this system. I am surrounded my force users and am wondering if there is a way I can a gain resistance to force damage without having to be a force user. Tried to convince my dm to let me tame a Ysalimar but rightfully denied lol. I know the feat Force Frustrater, but just want to see if there are any other potentially better options. Thanks Y’all.

Hey guys! So my DnD group decided to change it up and play Sw5e! We are really excited but the transfer of knowledge for me has been tricky with character building.
Basically to be a Blaster-based scout with a companion droid that can tank for me. Everything I'm seeing for companion droid scouts is the same "mounted combat" artillerist technique build. I'd rather just shoot and the droid tank Infront of me than it be my ride, and I'm unsure how to best do that or if I'm in the right class for it. Or, more flexibly, I'd also take being a melee ranger, and the droid have climb and shoot from high places? But I wouldnt be very tanky so im less inclined to do that. let me know your thoughts! Please be nice.
Update: looking into a high intl tech/blaster ranger with a possible beserker build for my turret droid to get it tankier

Looking for good fighting style/form pairings to go with a Guardian build, I *do not* want to dual wield/double weapon fight. I'd prefer a single blade, but am not married to the greatsaber/big chunky lightsabers.
I'm fine with a standard lightsaber or a crossguard saber, just looking for options that are good without 2 weapon/double bladed fighting
Hello i'm looking my first charcter for a campaign i'm about to start (We start at level 3). And i would like some help as i'm struggling to build somehing i'm happy with. So to start the charcter the idea thematically is something like Jolee Bindo and mechanically I'd like to have a strong dpr against single target, ideally i'd want to use a light weapon and have it be one handed. I'd like to also not use a shield but i'm open to it. I personally tried both with the guardian and Sentil classes but i never got it in a place i wass happy. Any help would be grealy appreciated

This is my droid cybertech engineer named Theseus, a kitbash of different droid parts. He was crudely put together by other droids on Raxus prime. Secretly sent across the stars, he has become a would be mercenary and bounty hunter. One day he hopes to amass fame and fortune and return to his droid kin in order to reclaim their home.
