I’m looking to have a Ngombe style of blade mounted on a saber hilt with African snake or plant themes on the guard any suggestions?

This will be kinda different from the usual stuff I post, but it would be interesting if anyone here wants to see specific sword hilts featured like this. Someone asked me to showcase Tulwar hilts, so why not do that along with some Khanda basket hilts thrown in the mix.

Family heirloom Yemeni/Arabic Jambiya — looking for history, age & identification

This Jambiya has been passed down in my family from my great-grandfather to my father and eventually to me. As far back as I know, it has been in the family and was kept locked away in a safe for an unknown number of years.
I’m trying to finally learn the history behind it. I believe it may be a Yemeni Jambiya/Janbiya, but I’m hoping someone knowledgeable can confirm that and tell me more.

I’m particularly interested in:
Approximate age/date of manufacture
Country/region/city of origin
What specific style of Jambiya this is
What the Arabic inscription on the blade says
Whether the inscription could identify a person, maker, date, or place

Whether the silver-colored parts are actual silver, plated silver, or another metal
What the symbol/mark on the pommel means
Whether the dagger and sheath appear to be originally together
Any historical or cultural information about this particular style
The dagger has some oxidation and age-related wear. There is also a noticeable metallic smell left on my fingers after handling it. I have not polished or chemically cleaned it because I don’t want to alter the original surface or potentially remove anything important.
This isn’t something I recently purchased — it’s a family heirloom that was passed down to me. I’m mainly interested in learning its history and getting a better understanding of what my family has had sitting in a safe all these years.

I’ve included photos of the dagger, sheath, hilt, blade, and close-up of the Arabic inscription.
If anyone here has experience with Yemeni jambiyas, Arabian antique weapons, Arabic inscriptions, or Yemeni metalwork, I’d really appreciate any information you can provide.

So I have this old sword that been over 30 years in my room and I just wanted to know what type of sword is it and if it’s even real LoL. Also how do you unsheath it without breaking it

Hi guys, i found a really nice old knife in my grandma old cabinet. I just know that this piece it's in the family since my mother was a child (maybe older than that). My grandma is no longer with us so i can ask her about it.

Found out on the internet that it was made by Alcoso around 1910-1940 , as the stamp says on the blade.

the blade is 15cm and the entire piece is 25cm. with no others stamps/signs

Finished these commissions up today. Two for the Albion Mercenary and one for the Albion Crécy. They’ve been mostly done for a while, I was just waiting on some belt hardware to arrive.

My step-dad gave me a wakizashi that I’d like to learn about—it’s sentimental, I feel like I owe it to him and the sword to learn as much about it as I can. I don’t have any real background info on it.

I love samurai films and casually read “The Samurai Sword” by John Yumoto, so I’m pretty sure it’s a sword and I’m pretty sure it’s Japanese.

I’d love to know maker and age, but I know that’s not likely (I don’t see a signature on the tang). That said, I’d love to know anything and everything you can tell me about this sword: does its curve indicate something; is the shape of the temper revealing; does the lack of something put it in a specific time or place? Please feel free to nerd out.

I’d also love any books, movies, podcasts, yada yada yada that discuss the wakizashi and its history/practice. Heck, some killer fictional choreography would be more than welcome.

So my great grandmother moved out of her house years ago and I got a sword that was in a closet and she let me keep it. I don’t know much about it but want to figure out what era it’s from. My girlfriend loves Damascus, and is her hands down favorite, but I don’t know how to differentiate what is affordable, what is cheap trash, and what is expensive, I’m not looking for something for tournament use/ actual cutting/ practice, but if one day she drops it or tries to slice open a watermelon I don’t want it to fall apart. Please help me translate the Kanji on my shin guntō which appears to have a family blade that's signed. FWIW it came with a blue & tan tassel that should indicate that it was in service with a captain, lieutenant, or warrant officer. I saw in a Matt Easton video, the theory that one of the reason thrust oriented medieval swords had broad bases was additional safety for the hand by directing the blade away from the hand. I tend to be aesthetically attracted to more narrow bladed swords, so I am curious if narrow blades came around much before additional hand protection became common, or if they really only seemed viable once hilts became more complex.
