Why is Bovington so proud of their Tiger tank?

So I get ads for Bovington Tank museum a lot on facebook, probably because I visited there once.

All their ads are about their Tiger tank. Why?

They do know that the Nazis lost the war, right? That they were made with forced (slave) labour? That they suffered from mechanical problems? Heap of junk. Fuel system leaks all over the place.

Meanwhile Bovington have a marvellous Soviet KV tank, the American tank from Fury (a Sherman), a T-34 (ok that's an odd one - Finnish with a swastica), and a huge range of British tanks.

So why bang on about the Tiger?

Drew it at school with no references, just my memory based on its design

I spotted at this wheeled self-propelled howitzer concept or prototype at Airshow London 2026 in London International Airport.

I believe that the ugliest tank is the Whippet tank, yes I say it is uglier than the oh so misunderstood Bob Semple tank. This is just an option but I just don't like the look of this thing.

Tank 1 was inspired by T-80 (or every modern russian tanks you know).

Tank 2 was inspired by TAM.

How would have late 17pdr early 20pdr Centurion tanks faired against the Panther, Tiger, Tiger 2 and other German Medium/heavy Tanks if it was available mid44/early 45?

Which early panzer II variants had the rounded vs angular frontal chassis? As in out of these variants, the trial series Ausf. a1, the Ausf. a2, the Ausf. a3, the Ausf. b, and the Ausf. c, and the early standard production variants Ausf. A, Ausf. B, and Ausf. C.

Hi all does anyone know of an extensive range of ready-built tank models? I'm not looking to build/paint tank models, I'm just looking for resin tank models that are already assembled and painted to collect. I know there is Easy Model (seems dead) and Hobby Master (but they don't seem to make many tanks). So was just wondering if there's a brand I've missed? Many thanks :)

Hiya folks. I’m doing a model of a Mk.III centurion and thinking about doing a Scheme from the pre-crisis suez. I’ve only really managed to get a semi-clear look at 2. I can’t fully make out the name of the one on the left and I can’t make out the number of the one on the right (Danae). Looking through my sources, I can’t find much info on either of these (or other) centurions in Ismailia.

If anybody has some info on them (and other centurions in Ismailia / Pre-crisis suez) then I’d love to see. Thanks.
