Rentals
In the next couple of months, I’ll be moving to Taos as a locum tenens and am having a tough time finding legit rentals. All I keep seeing are warnings about scammers or shady landlords. Same as anywhere, I guess. Is there a trustworthy way to find good places to stay? The hospital has a list, but it doesn't really help. Why is it so hard, and shouldn’t there be regulations or something?

Quail eggs and Micro greens
Hey! I have experience raising quail and growing microgreens, and I really want to start doing that again. I have time in the evenings and weekends, but no space (it doesn't take much) or money for the supplies.
Would you be interested in partnering up? If so, let me know what you are interested in so we can get this conversation started!
I live in Ranchos, but I go up past the town and back down home all the time.

No BBQ in Taos?
I've only seen one spot that offers super expensive BBQ across from Guadalajara Grill (south one). Did I miss a foodtruck or street corner pit master?
Will I have to become a pit master to get some burnt ends and beef brisket once a year?
Photobooths?
I'm headed to town this weekend and am looking for a photobooth somewhere. Are there any cool places with a photobooth?

Staying in Taos
Two of us are there in later September and reservations seem tough at this point. Looking at Historic Taos Inn, Inn at the Rio, El Pueblo Lodge, or Old Taos Guesthouse. Thoughts?

Taos sentiments
Hey all,
I just recently visited Taos for the first time (New Mexico as a whole for the first time). I’m from the Northeast.
As soon as I set eyes on the city I was kind of in love. I could list all my reasons, but I’m sure youve heard them all before. Just such a beautiful place.
Anyways, I havent been able to stop thinking about it since I got back, and daydreaming about moving to Taos. I cant afford a move like that just yet, but I think someday soon I’ll be able to.
But it spurred the thought, how does the Taos community view transplants? Would it be disrespectful to try to acquire a plot of land or house around Taos? How does new people moving in impact the community, the native lands, and the culture? Taos is a gem, and the last thing I want to do is compromise it. However, if anyone’s looking for some yuppie northerner to be your new neighbor, Im your guy.
Edit: also I know i’m jumping the gun wanting to move after seeing the place once

Lost black kitty in Ranchos
Hi everyone. I am staying at the RV park in ranchos on este es road and my kitty got out of the camper. He is black with a medium white spot on his chest. He has a collar with his name and my number. I left his litter box outside to see if he will find us. Please be on the look out. He’s a darling kitty and I love him and I’m so heartbroken he was able to get out. Please reach out if you see him.

Acupuncturist Recs?
I am looking into receiving acupuncture medicine for the first time. Any recommendations in or near Taos?
Bonus points if they accept insurance!
Thanks
Cannabis at the Mothership brewery?
I'm thinking of coming to Taos for a concert at the Mothership. While I know the "policy" is no pot, what's the actual situation on the ground there? Can I bring in a Dry Herb Vape (about the size of the deck of cards) or some joints? OK to smoke them outside or in a smoking area?
Also, can I bring in my own folding chair? I think the show is outside.
Thanks!
Update: I made it! The venue is pretty cool. Great view of the mountain while watching the band outside. Sneaking my overly large vape (arizer solo3) wasn’t too hard.
Thanks again!

Flock: Now what?
I am very proud to be in a town with such core values for its residents, including the need for privacy. The news of Flock's funding being reallocated elsewhere was huge not only for Taos, but for other small towns across the US.
However, now what? The contract has ended (or has it?), but the cameras are still up and no mention if they are still operational, whether by the police or a private entity. The funding may have shifted, but there are still 18 cameras up in Taos according to Deflock.org.
Can another contract just be written for a different Flock company and the town has to fight this all over again? What will it take for Flock surveillance companies to actually leave Taos alone?
I don't know if there are any concrete answers to these questions, but I am hoping to continue the conversation.

Bring Bartering Back
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in some sort of bartering meet up? Maybe we could meet at Red Willow park or something, and everyone bring some items to barter. Just seems like a cool idea

Place to park RV for extended stay?
My partner and I have been driving across the US for a couple months now. We enjoyed Taos and were hoping to stay in an air bnb for about a month to take a break from the road. The only issue is parking the RV we’ve been traveling in. From the sound of it most places don’t have a large enough driveway to fit our 25ft rig. We don’t plan on living in the RV for this month but just parking in a safe place for the time being. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this work?
Are there any overnight paid parking options ? I’m reading conflicting things about Loretto parking lot. On the map it says paid overnight parking but then online I’m reading no overnight parking. I’m willing to pay for parking if that’s the only option available to us.
Thanks for your help

iPhone Tech Help
My aging parents live in Taos and they need someone to help them back up phone data (like videos and photos) onto an external drive. They also have trouble understanding where some photo and video files have gone, believing they were just wiped, when it might be a setting. My mom told me that the guys at Electric Sheep won't help with phones at all by policy, so I'm wondering if there's anyone else who can help them with these pretty basic things. They're both Peru sharp, mid 70s, but still need some help with their tech. Any ideas, Taos community?

Looking for an Artist...
I bought a ring in downtown Taos 10 years ago that I lost as a dumb young 20-something.
A decade ago he had about a dozen or more pieces in every shop around the downtown square, so I imagine he is or was popular.
I am hoping to figure out who the artist is, hopefully, with your help as I'd like to get another one to replace the one I lost!
Thank you all for your time 🙏🏼

Burning, fire smell in El Prado.
Is that just from the Frijole fire, or are we getting toasty, too?
