Im doing my second tatoo (the other is pretty large 12 hours total) and i need some honest opinions here because I’m stressing out.

The artist has 20k on insta, some of my friends follow him and he works in a good studio (pic of his work at the end)

​I’m 2 sessions into a 7-session full sleeve (two wolves with stylized smoke to fill the arm, the smoke is why i chose him). First session was fine just doing art and making markings, but the next day session 2 was a mess:

Guy took 2 hours just to prep/start. After only 2 hours of tatooing, he told me he was too tired and had to stop (actually a good call because he was messing up)

When I looked at his work, i noticed he blew past the stencil lines in multiple spots. When i asked about it he said its not final product, that it was shading and that it would look fine after, what made me angry is he didnt own up to his mistake, he made it seem like it was intentional.

The star was supposed to be completely hollow/negative space, but he went over the lines and filled parts of it in. He blacked out one of the wolf's teeth that was supposed to be left open/white.

I still have 5 sessions booked with him, but I honestly lost all confidence.

​How bad is this? Is it worth letting him try to fix it, or should I just walk away now before he ruins the rest of my arm? Also, is targeted laser an option for the blowout/mistakes on the star, or can another artist rework this?

Hi I got a tattoo yesterday, just the linework but I will get it shaded in 2 weeks when its healed. My artist went over after care, but I had a question about it. He told me not to use lotion until tomorrow, but what about sunscreen? Its very sunny where I live, so Im wondering if I can apply sunscreen to it even though I haven’t used any lotion, thoughts?
Also what do you think about the placement? I had the tail of the dragon cover up my dog bite scar on my arm.

Hi all, this is my first tattoo and I thought I was following all of the care instructions but I'm concerned about a couple of these spots. This one is easiest to see in a photo. Originally the green color in the cactus was more consistent throughout and now this one spot is looking more yellow and I feel like the skin is like sort of pitted there? There are a couple other spots as well. First time and trying to trust the process but I'm a worrier. 3rd pic is what is looked like fresh for reference.

I hate Al, I'm also non confrontational, I was kinda in a time crunch this afternoon among a lot of other excuses / choices that I should have made or spoken up about instead.

So I asked the artist, who does do this style but lots of other styles too, to come up w a design. It looks cool, yeah? But the more I look, the lip is weird and the underside is too bumpy. Idc that it's a girthy snake, it's w/e, tongue length too, but is it egregious?

Right now...I'm trying to sort out how I feel. Like...in my heart of hearts, they might have generated it, and the thought doesn't give me a pit in my stomach...yet. I might come to dislike it in the future tho, bc it might not be human made, and that's what is bumming me out the most. I'm not too much of a stranger to tatt regret. I'm in the middle of a removal of my first tatt bc I've come to dislike what it meant. I have a couple of tatts that arent great but I've come not to mind. I hope this newest is also one I won't mind too much 😅

So I got that tattoo about a week ago, it's my second one within a few months.

I am currently spending 6 months onboard a cargo ship sailing as a Seaman and got that Tattoo in a seaman's mission in Denmark by an old sailor.

That's why it is definitely not the best if it comes to the pure craftsmanship, but I'm okay with that. I like the story behind it and the quality is good enough in my opinion, especially considering the look I'm going for.

But I got this kind of Tattoo-Regret in a way. I fear that it might be interpreted as a right-wing thing, which it most definitely isn't.

I'd just really like to hear anything anyone of you would have to say about it.

Does the story behind it make it better? What could be optimised in a follow up appointment and stuff like that.

Im not that happy about the eye in particular and the way it looks more like a pigeon than an eagle.

It is from my favorite drama's poster, Tony Kushner's Angels in America.

I really wanted this tattoo because I love this play and this poster and it fills out an empty space in my skin which have been bugging me for a while now.

And when I sent it to friends and family they said this looks like porcupine or a monkey...

I am really sad now, i though this is obviously looks like an angel even without the original poster pic..

Hi! First, I have to say that the decision to get this cover-up was way too spontaneous and thoughtless, so much so that I haven't been able to think about anything else for the past 4 months. So, tattoo regret has really set in.

Every day, my mind tells me that I've ruined my life and my future (im 28 btw) and with covering an old tattoo, I've destroyed a past era and some memories. Realistically, I know that's not true, but life is really hard to bear since my tattoo appointment.

I only went to this tattoo artist because I knew him. He'd already done a more traditional tattoo for me, so I assumed he'd do the same again, but if I don't bring it up, ofc he'll naturally just do his usual style. And I just went with it..

Now here's the thing: sometimes I have a brief moment of positivity and think I can get used to it once I have tattoos on this leg that actually suit me, like black traditionals. Do you think this goes well with it? How could I incorporate it? Won't smaller tattoos get completely lost because the vase and flowers are so huge? I also think the long leaves (especially on the right side) take up quite a bit of space. Maybe I could have them lasered off to make more room. I'm just afraid that it will stick out forever. That it won't be able to blend into a flowing sleeve.

I'd just love to hear some ideas and advice on what you would do in my situation. Maybe someone has a vision of how to turn this tattoo into a cool patchwork leg so the vase isn't THAT noticeable anymore... because, unfortunately, I can't quite picture it yet. Thanks!

Got this tattoo 5 days ago and just took off the second skin as instructed. Washed with unscented soap, dried with clean paper towel, and applied the unscented lotion provided by my tattoo artist. Feels fine, no pain and just some mild itchiness. The skin is a bit red but that’s from removing the second skin.

My only possible concern is some areas are still dark and a little scabby/wet looking. Is this normal 5 days out?

Hey I got this piece the other day and I've ran out of Palmers Cocoa butter (what I've always used for healing tattoos), my pharmacy is currently out of stock and I wanna know what you guys use for your healing tats?

I got my first color tattoo a month ago, I feel like it looks patchy is the only word I can think of and wondering if this is normal. Did he do a bad job, was it aftercare I followed all the steps and took way better care of it then I did my very first tattoo aha

So my question is he said once it's been a month, if I feel like it needs a touch up he will do it for free. Is it worth going in?

I just finished up this neo-Japanese/geometric piece which I’m really digging. But I did notice this darker dash near one of the streams that just looks a little out of place. I’m not sure if I’m missing something or if it’s actually a mistake? This section is still only 2 weeks or so from getting it so it’s still pretty fresh.

Some guidance on whether I should just live with it, message the artist about it, or if laser is possible to just lighten that line. And like I said I’m really happy with everything so if I should reach out to the artist I could use some suggestions on how to approach it.

I only have clean line tattoos on the rest of my arm and calfs but I do want everyone's take on whether this will age well with the current clean lines or if I should go back with the shading OR color. The 3 individual pics are of the tattoo itself then I did some mock ups to see the options for comparison sake. My artist is amazing and she will do the final work if I proceed but I'm just getting a feel.

Hi, I just got a new tattoo a few days ago and after taking the initial second skin off it I realized that it had caused damage to the surrounding skin and caused really bad bruising so I've decided not to put any more on it (this is my 5th tattoo and I've used second skin on all of them so far without any issues, or at least not to this extent, I have a medical condition that causes adhesives to stick too well and tear my skin sometimes) my question is how often should I be washing and/or moisturizing my tattoo?

Not getting these exact tattoos, this is just kind of the vibe I’m going for (like pinup cowgirl, but it’s gonna be Dolly Parton lol). I like to keep my arms all music related and put everything else on my legs, so it’s gonna be somewhere on my arms… I’m just not entirely sure where!

My forearms are both already tattooed, so I was thinking maybe the back of one of my forearms instead. But then I wasn’t sure if that would be weird placement for a full body tat? I really want my upper arms tattooed at some point, but I’m not sure this would be the best option because the head will always be cut off by my sleeves lol. What do y’all think?

Gonna ask my artist as well of course, but I just wanted some opinions 👀

Hi. I believe I have the worst tattoo in the world. Stupid decision had it done years and years ago. I want to either cover it or have it removed but I know nothing about tattoos. If I could go back in time and not have it done at all I would but I can’t obviously.

Can I get it covered?
What kind of styles would I need to cover it?
Would it be better to get laser removal?
