Hey guys, Me and a brother (+2 students) just joined MBMC IdeaX 2026 and wanted to hear from people who’ve participated in the previous editions.

How was it?

Was it actually competitive?

How was the screening round and the 48-hour hackathon?

Also, any tips for someone joining for the first time? Or anything you wish you knew before participating?

Individual Wi-Fi 6 Packages: NPR 14,499 to NPR 22,999 / year for standard 100 Mbps – 200 Mbps speeds.

Premium Wi-Fi 6 Packages: Scales up to an insane NPR 53,319 / year for 200 Mbps with Premium NTTV.

They are charging massive price hikes simply for upgrading the ONU router to Wi-Fi 6 while keeping the bandwidth at basic consumer tiers (100–200 Mbps). You can get far better speeds and hardware from private ISPs for a fraction of this cost.

To top off the absurd pricing, their "sweetened bonus" is 400 MB to 700 MB of mobile data.

Why are state-owned telecom enterprises so completely out of touch with realistic market pricing? Is this just pricing incompetence, or are they relying on government office budgets that don't care about costs?

What do you guys think? Is anyone actually subscribing to these?

We’re a team of 5 CS students looking for ideas for our final-year project.

We have good experience in backend and frontend development and some basic AI/ML knowledge, but we're not advanced in AI yet.

We have around 4 months to prepare and learn before implementation starts, followed by another 4 months for development. However, we'll have other courses and exams during that time, so it won't be full-time.

We're looking for a project that:

- Is mainly a web application

- Is large enough for 5 students

- Has substantial backend/frontend work

- Uses AI/ML for something meaningful, without being just an AI wrapper

- Is challenging but realistic within our timeframe

Ideas I liked so far are malware detection and system failure/anomaly prediction platforms. I like the idea of AI being one part of a larger system with things like data processing, dashboards, APIs, monitoring, etc.

I'd love to hear ideas in a similar direction, especially projects that solve a real-world problem.

Looking at NTC’s FTTH renewal packages and I’m genuinely trying to understand what the pricing team was smoking.

100 Mbps ➔ 150 Mbps: +50 Mbps speed upgrade costs Rs. 1,500 extra (Rs. 12,499 ➔ 13,999).

150 Mbps ➔ 200 Mbps: The exact same +50 Mbps speed upgrade costs Rs. 3,500 extra (Rs. 13,999 ➔ 17,499)!

To make it worse, both upgrades give you the exact same +100 MB/day mobile data bump.

I’m planning to buy a laptop soon and I’m getting a much better price on Daraz compared to some physical stores.

For those who have bought laptops or other expensive electronics from Daraz, how was your experience? Did you receive the exact product as advertised, and were there any issues with warranty or returns?

Also, is it better to buy directly from an authorized seller on Daraz, or should I just go to a physical store even if it costs a little more?

Now that admission season is ending and all the government college options are finishing, I see a lot of people asking about Foreign Affiliated colleges.Btw I am gonna study TU. I also thought of studying FA colleges and I was able to convince my parents too. I even visited 5 FA colleges.

The environment was good. Fancy stuffs. Cool guys. I even got offered milkshake in islington lol. I felt like I am entering a 5 star college. But when I consulted with the seniors in the ground and in reddit, the conversation always started with regret in their decision.

You spend 5× more money on a degree for fancy infrastructure, so called "practical" learning, and yet you are unemployed. You have wasted a lot of your parent's money on a degree that is less valuable than Nepali University degree that is 5× cheaper than your degree.

Now, after finishing dreamy 3 yrs, you want to go abroad. Which will cost you a fortune. By which face are you gonna ask for money to your parents again?

Be conscious. This is not your money that you are gonna gamble. Respect your parents hard earned money. Don't waste it for your stupid fanciness.

Current options: If you haven't given any entrance than there might be some IT degree in PU or PoU private colleges. You don't need to give entrance probably. Research and call those colleges. They are not bad. You may get it in like 7 8 Lakhs. You can do BIT in PU and BCSIT In PoU. TU doesn't have BIT in pvt colleges and for govt you needed to give exam. KU also requires exam ig. Do your own research. But don't choose FA colleges unless your parents are extremely rich.

As mentioned in my previous post that I am starting the journey from the very beginning. Today I didn't had much time to learn as I was busy throughout the day.

Today, I started my journey with Python. I read from w3schools. I re-learned only the basic syntax because I am barely opening my eyes. Even though I knew Python and had done many ML projects, so some topics would be much easier for me than the other.

I have challenged myself to be completely honest. I hope tomorrow I will be able to take some time aside and really focus.
