Jackpot!
Twin Liquors has a big sale going on called Dollar Days. It's a dumb name, but they are discounting anywhere from $50-$10 on a lot of their inventory.
Decided to drive to my second furthest away Twin Liquors to look for some Charanda. Unfortunately they had none, but decided to enjoy their free AC and walked every aisle and found this lone beauty.
For $25 its the biggest deal I have found in the wild. I asked if they had more of any of their lineup, but no luck. I own the 110 bottle and looking forward to try the 40 proof.
So if you have a a TwinL near you it might be worth checking out today.

Great price and the old bottle design as well.

Does that mean it doesnt sell well? I just picked up a repo of this. Ink says it was bottled in 2020…..it was horrible.

I've only had the 110 Blanco and XA 5 year and loved both. What were your thoughts on your Reposado?
I generally stay away from Rreposados, generally stick with Blancos and XA, I like extremes. The only Reposado I have ever like was the Chamuco Reposado.

Terralta is my favorite out of El Pandillo. Super nice and earthy. At $25… that’s just crazy!
Your preference of ‘extremes’ sounds a lot like Dillon’s from the Curiosity Public YT channel 😆
You ever make cocktails with Terralta 110?
I’m not a fan of barrel and tequila, but if they made an XA at that proof, I’d be open to try it.

Funny you mentioned those two things, they do make a XA 110 (https://www.agavematchmaker.com/agave_spirits/5804-terralta-tequila-extra-anejo-110)
And yes, I posted this last week (https://www.reddit.com/r/tequila/s/60nBSZBMvZ)

Ha! You’re right. Terralta XA 110 Proof is a thing. I guess I just never see it in stores over here.
And wow! What a fun, simple recipe! I gotta try it.
Out of my entire Mexican spirits collection, tequila is the spirit I’m most open to use for cocktails, regardless of what it is.

To me, the repo terralta tasted like cheap shooter tequila, huge taste of turpentines/cheap perfume. I immediately switched to a bottle of jaguar repo. The jaguar is one of my favs right now. Smooth creamy caramel is how i would describe the jaguar repo.

Ha this is actually hilarious for me. Jaguar Reposado has been the biggest letdown for me. I constantly heard people describe tropical notes, but to me all I could taste was green/young mesquite, tasted like I was liking the chlorophyll of the green mesquite. It was my first ever drain pour. I was so confused bc I loved Yeyo 2023 Reposado Rum Cask and I figured since Jaguar was from the same Nom that the chances I would like it were high. I gave it multiple tries, but all I could pickup was a green wood tea.

That is so so wild to hear (read? lol). My first ever drain pour was that exact Yeyo 2023 Rum Cask you enjoyed so much. Both my buddy and I felt that it tasted like plastic with a lingering bitter note that kind of reminded me of gasoline… You’re actually the first person I’ve heard say good things about that release.
Like you, I don’t really go for repos. Distillates w/no barrel influence and the occasional XA is where I happily sit, too.

This goes to show to never trust reviews bc everyone's taste/influences are different. On the Yeyo I've had the 24 and 23. Both 24 and 23 I get the same notes on the nose of pineapple, wood, and agave, but the 23 tastes exactly like the nose and the 24 for me was more agave and tanins and no pineapple.
I use the 24 Yeyo to make pinapple smash margaritas. It's a Tommy Margarita, but I smash 1 or 2 pineapple 0.5inch cubes and strain.

That’s so cool that you’ve enjoyed BOTH releases. Sounds like 24 had more wood influence from the barrel.
I wonder where they got their rum casks from and if the 24 had a different barrel resting procedure..?
I love to hear these margarita varieties. Keep it up!

I agree. The repo for me was musty and funky. Not at all like the reviews that mentioned fruity notes. I actually got my money back and implored them to try it but I don't think they did. Recently they clearances out all their Terralta for 22 bucks including the anejo and xa. Those anejos are pretty good.

I think a lot of people aren’t familiar with the brand. Their regular blanco is outstanding and stands strong amongst much more expensive competition.

I will try their blanco. I have a more experienced friend who is local to me. And he had the same experience, blanco was good, repo bad.
