| Variant | Focus | Rogue Protocol | SHD & Expertise | Global PvP Balance | Prototype Gear |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blackout Dark Zone (PvEvP) | Fully uncapped Dark Zone | Active | Active | Active | Active |
| Classic Dark Zone (PvEvP) | Standard PvPvE risk-versus-reward gameplay | Active | Active | Active | Disabled |
| Balanced Dark Zone (PvEvP) | Competitive skill-based PvPvE | Active | Disabled | Active | Disabled |
| Toxic Dark Zone (PvE) | PvE survival and cooperation | Disabled | Active | Disabled | Disabled |
Red Horizon brings Blackout into the Dark Zone rotation, and Toxic DZ remains as a permanent PvE variant.
Dark Zone variants will rotate weekly across DZ West, East, and South, with one PvE and two PvP Dark Zones available at any given time. Toxic and Balanced will remain active each week, while Blackout and Classic will alternate on a weekly basis.
As of Y8S3 the PvE Toxic Dark Zone is a permanent feature.
For those of you who have been asking for a fully uncapped Dark Zone, Blackout is exactly that. It completely removes stat normalization, so you can use the full power of your build, including your SHD Watch and Expertise upgrades.
Rogue Protocol remains active, and Global PvP Balance still applies to weapons, gear, and Skills.
Prototype Gear and Weapons can also use their full base stats in Blackout. Their Augments, however, will still use the PvP-balanced values.
The Global PvP Balance work continues in Red Horizon with another round of improvements.
The goal remains to make PvP fights less about taking someone down instantly and give you more time to react and fight back. We also want more Talents, Weapons, Skills, and Set Bonuses to feel worth using, rather than having the same few choices
Skills have received adjustments to both their base values and how they scale across Skill Tiers. These changes apply to Conflict and all PvP Dark Zone variants.
Gear Set and Brand Set bonuses have also been adjusted separately for PvP where needed. New Talents have been balanced for PvP as well, together with adjustments to some existing outliers.
Gear Sets
Brand Sets
Brand Sets will not only be rebalanced through number changes, but also by swapping some attributes in and out.
There’s also one broader change to how we’ll handle Brand Sets going forward.
Starting with Red Horizon, instead of adding new Brand Sets, we’ll add more Named pieces with Perfect Talents or Attributes to existing Brands.
This gives them more freedom when adding new pieces and gives community feedback more room to influence future Brand piece additions.
Determined will now function like Perfect Determined, meaning a kill from a converted headshot will no longer trigger another guaranteed headshot.
The ability to chain body shots as headshots is not going away completely. That functionality is moving to the new Iron Will Exotic Chest through its Resolved Talent. Iron Will lets your next body shot count as a headshot without requiring a headshot kill first, and can be paired with Exotic MMRs or High-End MMRs using Talents other than Determined.
Along with this change, they are also buffing several Brands and Gear Sets related to Marksman Rifles, with the goal of making Iron Will paired with other MMRs competitive with the current Determined + Headhunter setup.
The Y8S2 version of Determined, as a Weapon Talent, interferes with the ability of meaningfully buffing certain items.
We are not looking to remove the Determined functionality entirely. The main issue is where it currently sits in your build, which is why we are moving it to the Chest slot.

It's been one year since Retaliation launched, and to mark the occasion, you'll be able to take on a special Project Chain from September 8 to September 22.
The objectives will send you back into Retaliations against different factions. Each completed Project comes with useful materials and caches, with an Outfit Token waiting at the end as the main reward. You can use it to unlock one eligible outfit of your choice from the store.
And there’s more to earn during the first week. From September 8 to September 15, Retaliation Surge will be active, doubling the Retaliation Faction Materials you earn from all sources.
*You need to own the respective item for its blueprint to appear at Inaya.
Two new Classified Assignments will be available during Red Horizon: The District Mall Inferno on August 27 and The Georgetown Dead Zone on October 15.
The first sends you to the District Mall after Agent Felix McNally is attacked while trying to recover broad-spectrum antivirals, with the Cleaners closing in and an unknown assailant linked to a SHD anomaly still unaccounted for. The second takes you into an area of Georgetown completely uncovered by the SHD network, where a JTF engineer team sent to install new tech has gone missing.
Classified Assignments can be accessed through the dedicated Assignments tab on the map once they become available. Access unlocks at Level 30, and Assignments can be purchased and launched from there.
Don’t miss out on this exclusive One Time Offer, available for $19.99 or your regional equivalent. It includes 2000 Premium Credits and 600 bonus Credits, plus the Classic Mask, because some looks are classics for a reason.
Season 3 addresses one of the biggest pain points by preventing tokens from being lost after a disconnect, but that will be added at a later point.
As announced during the Gamescom panel - Season 4 will bring major changes to several of Year 8's endgame systems.
They wanted to add Prototype Recalibration in Red Horizon but had to push it back to finish the feature.
Prototype Gear is being reworked to give players significantly more control over how they progress and customize their items, reducing the system’s reliance on RNG. The changes will touch Expertise, Augments, and introduce new ways to fine-tune Prototype Gear.
Escalations are also evolving in Season 4. In Season 4, Agents will have greater control over the challenge and rewards of their Escalations, while changes to Mutators will make them more consistent and predictable.
We’ll have much more to share about Season 4 in the future.
This is a collection of already created Community Resources that should help you get going.

Blackout has a simple concept - it basically takes the Shock Ammo Directive from Underground and uses it as a foundation for the Global Event. The buff gives you the ability to shock NPCs, and the other modifiers enable you to melee-kill NPCs, but you can also shock yourself.
When you have general questions, how Global Events work, check out the summary in the wiki: link
=>source
Shock Charge
Every time you shoot your weapon, you are charging your weapon and the higher your charge is, the more damage you do: Charging
With just the Global Modifier active, you will only do more damage, but when the other modifiers are active, you need to keep a very close eye on this charge bar, because when it turns red, you are in danger to be electrocuted.
In addition to that, running also charges your bar, but it will never cause a self-shock, that only happens via shooting, or missing a melee. This is a good tactic to use with a shield and melee the NPCs.
Switch Weapons
When you activate Extreme - or Total Blackout, you always need to keep an eye on the charge above your health bar. As soon as it turns red, you have the risk to shock yourself and depending on the situation, that can get deadly very fast. To avoid that, switch between your weapons. Each time you switch your weapon, you reset the charge and you can start again. Use that to avoid getting shocked at the wrong moment and also to control when you want to be fully charged to perform a melee attack.
Use Immunizer
Blackout has a simple tactic to avoid getting shocked: Use an Immunizer Station or in best case, a Reclaimer. This way you get healing and are immune to the shock-effect. It will still fill up your bar and enter the red area, but even when it is full, you will not get shocked.
Mind your Distance
When Total Blackout is active, you have to keep an eye on the blue - and red lines between the agents.
The red lines signify that when you overcharge by shooting or missing a melee, you will give yourself and them a shock. The ally shock is slightly less than the personal shock.
The blue line means that your overcharge-bar will cool down quicker.
Punch the Guy
When the second or third modifier is active, you can melee-kill an NPC, when you are enough charged. For that, the charge has to be in the red-segment and then you can melee and instant kill NPCs. But keep in mind, Legendary NPCs and Hunters can do the same to you, so be careful when you use that or use a shield.
Every Global Event has its own Commendations that are tied to patches and masks that you can earn by completing these achievements. Read the list of Commendations here:
| Reward | Commendation |
|---|---|
| Tao Mask | Fists Of Fury - Perform a Melee Shock Kill on 200 enemies |
| Rictus Mask | Safety First - Complete an activity during Blackout, without shocking yourself. |
| Vulcan Mask | Thunder And Lightning - Kill 500 enemies while they are shocked. |
| Reward | Commendation |
|---|---|
| Mirrorball Patch | Shock Around The Clock - Shock 5 enemies in 10 seconds. |
| Graveyard Patch | Supercharge! - Complete all Events in the Blackout Playlist. |
| Electroshock Patch | Team Player - Complete an activity without shocking an ally. |
You can recognize Classified Gear Sets by the folder next to the icon.
You can only get these Classified Gear Sets from the Global Event caches. But all the other classified can still drop from the regular loot locations.
You can read here how Classified Gear Sets work: Link
You can earn Global Event Tokens by doing the missions and other activities and then you can buy Global Event Caches from the vendor in the Global Event area of the Terminal. When you just want Classified Items, then it is recommended to buy the Superior Caches.
Caches
Survival caches give you 170 GE Tokens each
(only the Caches that you get during the Global Event will contain Tokens)
Missions - Global Event Bonus
Incursions - Global Event Bonus
Mission Rewards
Mission/Incursion named bosses
DZ and Open World Bosses
HVTs
For the weeklies:
For the dailies:
Credit per Hour
Once the Event is over, you will a notification on what Tier you have finished. You might need to relog to get the notification. Once that happens, go to the Reward Claim Vendor in the Base of Operations - the reward is usually in the resource tab.

Correct me if im wrong as i dont have neither Gilded Fox, nor Fox Ronin.
But they both show a preview in the form of an image beside the gear, that shows that the fox headgear has its ears while wearing the full set, hood up and everything.
Whereas when preview the set, the ears aren't there.
Granted, i know they made them wearable with hoods, and i get not having the ears on every single hooded gear piece.
But i feel like for the ones that its set is based around, it should allow that...
Would also allow those who have the other fox masks to work the same for that set.
Edit: It does exactly that, just the preview for the shop is bugged/broken.

These things were part of small puzzle devs did in previous days and weeks. in each Central Park concept art, there was hidden letters and digits on some environmental stuff, like signs or tanker.
If you added them, they give you a code that could be used on the website
You must log in to your Ubisoft account to get these two items in the game mailbox
https://redeem.ubisoft.com/thedivision2/en-GB
Code ---> PPR-X29-3JU-RTE
I didn't discover this all, just sharing, it's straight from the new Rogue Gold video who is the first one to do a video about it i think, so big thanks to him!

UPD: Apparently, Reddit decided to nuke all the uploaded scans of The Paper Route article for whatever reason, but the original PDF is still available via the link at the bottom of this post.
According to RogueGold and his latest discovery, it turned out that the previously released pieces of concept art for the Echoes of Central Park DLC contained additional hints for the ARG puzzle. All of the concept art pieces feature hidden parts of the redeem code:
The complete code is: PPR-X29-3JU-RTE
It can be redeemed as usual at: https://redeem.ubisoft.com/thedivision2/
The code grants two in-game rewards: Paul's Backpack and Kerman's Coffee Cup backpack trophy.

The backpack itself has a large QR code hanging from it. Scanning the QR code leads to the full The Paper Route article about events in the Upper West Side, written by Paul Winters, which can be found above or via the official link: https://ubi.li/esDiy

So i get an invite for tier 10 escalation today. 2 dudes running dps, 1 dude some kind of dps slash cc, and im running refractor. We get about halfway thru jefferson plaza. Admittedly things going decent. Get to big out door fight room with the swimming pool. 3 dudes run 3 different directions, all drop like flies. Me being careful, using covers making sure skills are hitting shit for heals. Everyone starts coming after my ass now of course cause other 3 stud rambos are dead. I play duck and dodge for a while, but wtf is refractor going to kill in t10, right? I see a window....I try to get to the closest guy to rez him. Purple dude in between me and closest dude. I turned my turret and drone on him to try to either distract him or kill him so i can try a rez. Of course 3 other enemies blow my head off and we wipe. Leader had the balls to question my ability and build lol. Trying to look smooth to his other 2 clan goons. All im saying is its never anyone's fault but your own if you eat shit and bite it. Dont blame other people for your own ineptitude. Man up and admit you blew it yourself lol. Cheers happy hunting.

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to figure out if I hit a hard cap or if my game is bugged. Ever since the launch of the Red Horizon update, I've been successfully farming blueprints from Level 3/4 Control Points, missions, escalations, retaliations, countown etc. Everything was dropping normally until about an hour ago, and now they have completely stopped.
Before the update i had around 560 blueprints now i have 571 ... i assume i hit the open world blueprint cap before red horizon started and i was surprised i was getting them until now :/

TekFor_ added the following reply: (Thank you!)
Message on X:
Agents, we have deployed a new small update today with tentative fixes for the audio issues currently impacting the game. Players should be able to immediately download the patch with no downtime required for this.
As we keep investigating and working hard on a definitive solution for all platforms, we expect small improvements on the audio for consoles and significantly improvements to the experience on PC. Please keep adding information to the Bug Reporter after the update, so our team can collect more information and solve it as soon as possible.

I’ve played enough Div 2 that I no longer play all day everyday, just instead popping in throughout the season for certain events. With the updates to the pve dz, farming dz resources/currency can actually be useful now as you can get a couple dozen of these resources an hour from breaking down loot in the dz and extracting them. Ofc the PvP dz adds double value, but without PvP balancing gimping your build, not having to constantly look over your shoulder and a rotating area to farm, I think I might have an idea.
The pve dz already have a consistent exotic component farm: a chance from the Phoenix chests and a stabilization agent roughly equalling at least 1 as long as you can kill the hunter that spawns when you extract.
But with the upcoming dz surge event, you’ll be able to gain double dz currency (like in the PvP dz) and then turn those in for the dz exotic components cache (which has +4 exotic components) during an expertise surge event to double all exotic component gains.
Ofc a creator collab or similar multi project event will have this beat, but unless you’re a PvP stomacher, saving your exotics and keeping a fat stack of dzc on hand is as good as it gets- as long as you don’t have an immediate need for exotic components that is. And unlike the actual mailbox, the special deliveries tab is near infinite so you can just extract the dzc and leave it since you can only hold 999 on each character.

For the other 2 people having the issue where the shield is automatically put away and you’re stuck with the pistol, the issue is TDI Kard, not the shield. I replaced TDI Kard with plain old Kard and don’t have the issue anymore. FYI, I only have a proto TDI Kard, not sure the issue also happens with the regular one.

I used to use iKias spreadsheets but as he no longer plays the game and no longer updates his sheets I made a new website.
https://www.djtickle.com/weapons
It has -
- All 265 weapons, every class, standard/named/exotic
- Base damage, RPM, magazine, reload, optimal range
- Magazine damage, burst DPS and sustained DPS (Winner is highlighted)
- Every column sorts, so you can rank the whole game by whatever you care about
- Search Function
You can organise filters just by clicking on the gun type you want to see, for example you can click Named and Standard together. All covers Standard, Named and Exotic. Exotic will show just exotics.
Just note that this is for Weapons only, it does not take into account build/talents (Even on named/Exotic weapons).
A few things that will change the ranking.
Magazine Mod Fitted - This applies the biggest mag available to the gun in game.
Hide RoF variants - LMGs sometimes benefit from RoF mag rather than extended mag. Just remember build will have an effect on this also.
Shotguns will show the per pellet damage and also the total.
If you spot a number that looks wrong, please tell me and I'll check it. You can do that either in this thread or reach out to me any other way. Same if you spot a gun that is missing.
If you think anything else would be useful to add around weapons let me know.
I will continue to update it as more are added.

I've done the whole summit twice. Got all the parts needed for the project, killed the 3 bosses and not got the project.
The other one for the holster it won't update the saloon section even though I've camped the necessary boss when it appears numerous times. Project doesn't update.
Then last week the weekly project didn't update after doing everything required it was stuck on handing it in.

People, I am readdicted to the Division 2 again. I played 300 hours before I put it down for other games.
I’m back and just grinded from 30-40 and reacclimating to the mechanics. I ran the old TP set I had and just used level appropriate weapons.
Is there a better support kit than TP used to be or should I grind for it again?
Is there a way to scale up my set gear and exotics?
Any secrets in managing old equipment?
Is anyone in an active clan that would take a 50+ OG that plays daily?

Yo, agents
Been runnning basically 2 versions: a) Mellon Baller + Fox’s Prayer - weapons dealer choice, but using UIC15 with Boomerang; and 2) Mellon Baller + Iron Will - weapons swapping between Artist’s Tool for Perfect Rifleman procs with exotic and experimenting UIC15 with Determined.
Questions are:
1) Does the headshot proc on the body from Iron Will proc Perfecr Rifleman making it seemingly good synergetic weapon option?
2) Is running Determined on the weapon a smart idea to increase the amount of headshots while Iron Will is on cooldown or is it a really stupid idea because the Determined and Iron Will headshot procs will overlap with each other too much?
Ty for taking the time!

Rifles are doing 2-3 million a shot, but lmg with frenzy are hitting same with huge rate of fire.
Refactor: I am sorry but it's not for t10. Maybe with birdie/btsu hot swap, but still, don't want to be rude, just no.
OD: maybe, IF you are able to spread the marks consistently.
CoCo: stacks last longer compared to striker, but I am at max stacks with frenzy/ACS on striker in few seconds. And good luck getting stacks to start with when joining groups.

Right now i have 2 weapons that i want get proficient. Do they get the same xp or is it split 50/50 upon getting kills? I havent figured it out yet and always forget to keep track of my gear/weapon xp. I have always equipped 1 item at the time to level it up, recently it made me think if i really need to do that.
I have read guides, threads so i know wearing gear set gets more xp.
r/thedivision • u/JD_Dew • 11h ago
I was pointed out, that Richardson set actually an extreamy leazy slop.
An that post tanked, because: "🤓 There are no mask/hood models in game to match every single possible combination. How things are rigged as a set could be making it difficult to do so, or not possible. You have to realize that the one piece of gear you see can have multiple models that need to fit within the rigging of the other pieces"(c)
What models!? Richandson's hood simply ignoring it's own mask, keeping "mask: off" model... that's the whole secret of it... it litteraly bugged into "mask: halfmask on" in main menu page...
You want me to belive, that they couldn't do it for some other masks, at least for FireWall that Richardson's mask 80% based on; because it's all the way impossible!? And not because all at and under Ubisoft can't be bothered to get an extra step, and update old stuff to have new neet feature!?! Fr!?!?

So I was theory crafting possible rifle combos for iron will and was currious about Achilles rifle. This rifle has perfect soft spot which grants +24% weapon damage when destroying weak points. I would like to assume the headshot given with the new chest would count as destroying weak spots.
Unfortunately im a few levels away from getting the chest. Has anyone tried thos combo out yet?
edit:
so I guess In my excitement to try and figure out some under the radar weapon/iron will combos I didn't really look at the weapon and really read it's talent and think about it. So thankyou all for setting me straight on this.
