For any artist on here, are we feeling about this news? Could this have a lasting impact for emerging artists moving forward or what else could be improved?

Over 1k between my top 3. It's been a while since I hit those numbers.

An increasing amount of tracks in my library are unable to play with a message appearing below the song title. Anyone experience this & is there a fix?

At least the music is superb.

Just got a message that EU pricing for TIDAL is about to go up from 13,99€ to 16,99€! While I want to support artists and access good music & exclusives - am not sure whether this 3€ pricehike is gonna keep me invested for long…. #ProllyNot

hi everyone!

I would like to switch from spotify to either deezer or tidal. The music quality is good enough on both of them for me. I'm not able to notice a difference between flac and hi-res with my equipment.

What I'm looking for is:

1) Having some way to share playlist. At least I would like to share my liked songs with a friend and viceversa. Even better if we can create a shared playlist where we can add songs

2) I don't want AI music. Which one does a better job to block them?

If you have other differences to point out I'm all ears!

Hello Tidal community!

Yesterday I faced one very strange problem: when I open my playlists (not transferred from another streaming platform but created in TIDAL), a lot of tracks are greyed out and show the error when trying to play any of it.
However, when opening an album with these tracks, everything is available and no errors appear.

Important notes:
• Any manual track replacements do not help at all, tidal marks them as duplicates, and even if I add them again, they are still greyed out inside the playlist;
• Removing such tracks and adding them again does not help either;
• Creating a new playlist also doesn’t solve this problem as tracks remain greyed out.

Has anyone faced the same problem yet?

For any technical details:
• I have an IOS application, and the problem occurred in both v. 2.212.0 and 2.213.0;
• The phone itself is using the latest IOS version.

Unfortunately, no advice apart reinstalling the application and relaunching the device was given by the TIDAL Support team.

If anyone experienced the same problem, please, share your solution (if you managed to find it)!

With a Google search, I can find pages from the Tidal website itself that talk about a "Student Plan," as well as other Reddit posts linking people to these pages, but there's a problem.

The page on the Tidal website talks about a Student plan but links you to a page, even on desktop, that says "Your subscription is managed by Apple." When I look at the plans listed through Apple, there is no Student plan to select, just individual and family.

When I try to subscribe to a plan strictly on the Tidal website, it's just nowhere to be found. The only thing I see under Student plan is underneath, where it says "Start Free Trial." When I click that, it takes me to a sign in page, but since I already have an account, it just signs me in, and we're back at the "Your subscription is managed through Apple."

I have gone through this circle for months. I did not want to make a post about it, but I deadass don't know how to break out of this genjutsu. Someone please advise?

Edit: Already cancelled my subscription, and I am on a web browser. But even on desktop, when I go to plans on Apple, Student isn't an option. When I go to Tidal.com/pricing, I see an option for Student Plan, but when I click on it, it just takes me to the Tidal website, where going to "Manage Subscriptions" starts me over at "Your subscription is managed through Apple."

This is why I'm stuck.

Does this happen to anyone else? Whenever I stream an album it shuffles the songs even tho I haven’t selected shuffle. And I can’t find any settings to explain it.

When the crossfade feature works it’s great! Especially depending on the type of music/album you have playing. I currently have it set to 12 secs because at 5 secs it was doing the opposite of cross fading 😬. What interval do yall have yours set to if you’re using this feature. *Btw, listen to The Womack Sisters new album!

New to TidaL - I haven’t been able to find the discovery playlists. Where should these be?

Every time I click through the instructions to apply the student discount I get to my subscription and it says “Your subscription is managed by Apple.
Please visit the Apple App Store to administer your subscription.” And in the App Store there’s nowhere to apply for a student discount

I am curious if anyone else is having this problem as well.

For some reason, i hear couple adds here and there between songs, even when i have my subscription online.

Android and the app seems to be up to date as well.

I can force them off by pressing play button repeatedly, but i am still little confused is this a new feature or a bug. As i dont actively follow news about Tidal.

I dont know where to put this so i'm gonna put this thread here in the hope it reach the dev team.

This is gonna sound like a bash, and it isn't the point. I wish this can be used to improve an experience that is , at the moment, not so great.

Si let's start by saying I can't use Tidal.

I tryed it for two weeks, cancelling Spotify and willing to help the artists this way.

The truth is it's way too much hassle.

We had two account, mine and my wife's one. We use 5 devices to stream :

- two phones, both on Android, one account on each.

- two car, one tesla with built in app, one with android carplay.

- a musicast setup with a RXA2A.

Here are the issues that made me cancel yesterday :

1- no sync between devices. I listen to something in my tesla, I go home, connect to the musicast setup, music stop, track progression is lost, chosen playlis/sound too. ( I spoke about podcast / audiobook intially, but this is the same with regular music)

2- one single account with musicast. Spotify use the account linked to the phone using the musicast app, here we're forced to choose between m'y library and m'y wife's library, only one will be accessible through our main audio system. The other won't be able to stop the music / change it using his/her phone. What a shame.

3- no compatibility with tidal connect = no way to ditch musicast.

4- the musicast /tidal ui is tedious and lame. No way to search for an artist, no way to start a jam, no way to change song using tidal on our phone. It's basically an old balader's ui with folders in folders in folders.

Worst , if you open tidal on your phone, music stop in musicast.

5- the android carplay ui suffer many issues too, including : no way to select most listened playlist (alphabetical only) shorts playlist, random bugs and error who stop the music while driving (same bugs on tesla build in app by the way)

To me, you can't charge theses fee for such bad UI/ connectivity. Quality doesn't matter if I need to struggle each time I wanna listen to something. There also ten percent of my spotify library that I couldn't find on tidal, but i would be willing to let go about it.

However, Spotify has ONE BUTTON allowing me to select the source and multi accounts compatibility, and it's basically the same UI ( who has flaws, but is ok) on EVERY devices. If I start listening on my phone and go to my car, music will resume like if nothing happened. This is something i hadn't realized i needed that much until moving to tidal.

You should seriously priorize the user experience, because at the moment, using tidal is a hassle i'm not ready to experience, and i think you're gonna disappoint a lot of new customers in the future when they'll suffer the same issues.

So Tidal sent me notice a few weeks ago that they would be raising prices... OK, fair. Everything is getting more expensive. Here is what they quietly did when you were not looking. They removed the block track/block artist feature, they now suggest the shittiest music ever! I listen to predominantly Cuban jazz at my business because its awesome, upbeat and never obnoxious. Tidal is now suggesting heavily auto tuned rappers saying nig this and nig that... fuck you whores and whatever else passes for music these days. Today I put on my daily discoveries and the first two tracks were boy bands from the 90s.... i have never listened to that shit so how is that being suggested. Time to close my account and bring my Reel to Reel tape deck back and wow my customers with the amazing sound of pro recorded tapes. So done with these tech bros telling us what we should like.

Anyone else experiencing trouble downloading the Tidal app to MacBook? Whenever I download the .dmg to install from their website, my Mac just reports that the file is damaged and can't be opened. It happens every time I try to drag it into Applications. Wonder if it's something I can fix or if it's really their file. I have the M5 chip btw.
