I make an organizer set for the Quinn 428pc tool kit. I’m looking for some outside ideas on what might make this kit more functional for everyday use.

QUESTION Switching leveling feet with casters on Husky storage system

Recently bought this tool stage system for my garage and it came with the self leveling feet. I want to replace the feet with wheels because i know im going to rearrange my garage several times while I own this thing. I can’t seem to find the thread size anywhere for the threads on the feet it came with and my local HD doesn’t carry them. Im sure I’ll need the bolt on ones but I can’t find any that’ll fit either. Has anyone switched these out and which wheels did you get?

QUESTION Anyone with a husky 52 ever adapted a hutch to it?

I’ve had this box for a little over 2 years and I would like to add a hutch, but I cannot find anything that fits. Anyone modified any other hutches or just slapped on one that fit directly? Thanks in advance.

I couldn’t find it, so I built it

I’ve spent the most part of the past few years downloading and trying to make different apps work for cataloging my tool inventory for insurance purposes. Some kind of worked but none did the job.

So I decided to build my own. What started out as a simple list of tools eventually turned into an evolving comprehensive ecosystem for us mechanics.

The app is in both Google and Apple stores, it’s called “toolbox vault”.

I am a mechanic of 30 years, and have made this app as useful as I could for my use and continue to upgrade it with user feedback all the time.

It is 100% free to use with nothing locked behind paywalls to start. This gives the user complete access to test the app out to see if you like it and will use it before having to pay. After 15 items there is a paywall.

Here is a list of what it currently does:

Tool inventory
- add photos, receipts, documents, etc for each tool. Never loose a document again.
- input tools as single items or as sets/bundles. Add bundle expansion items as well.
- add in maintenance records, time lines and warranty periods.
- never miss a calibration or maintenance schedule for your tools/assets again
- all tools have tier level locations, so you can organize your inventory by location as well. So you can have your home tool box and your work toolbox setup all in the same place but view them separately

Borrowing
- track who borrows your tools, when they borrow them, and how many times they have been borrowed

Warranty/Repair claims
- track claims for your tools. Know how long it’s been since you’ve handed over your tool for repair
- track how much you’ve paid in repairs if any
- track the history of claims, who they are with etc
- add photos and notes for each claim

Dealers
- add in current and past tool dealers. Never loose a dealer contact information again.
- wishlist items for each dealer
- Track your truck and credit accounts with dealers
- track claims and history claims with each dealer
- create reminder notifications for payment due dates on your accounts
- track how much you’ve paid have spent in tools/assets with each dealer
- setup dealer route reminders for dealer truck days

Wishlist
- create a wishlist of items you want, sort them by priority and have each individual item or the whole list shareable

For sale items
- mark inventory items for sale. Automatically create for sale posters
- track current for sale items
- track history sold items

Customize
- worldwide currency picker for the entire app
- Show/hide pricing throughout the entire app
- custom locations
- custom tags
- custom categories
- custom brands
- customize the theme of the app in many colors and themes including Pink

Reports
- create many different kind of reports. End of year purchase reports, insurance reports, warranty repair cost reports, loss/theft reports and many more
- all reports can be made into CSV or PDF formats
- all reports are shareable right from the app

Import/Export data
- import your current CSV data sheet right into the app without having to re enter all that data
-Export the same way or into a full PDF document as well.

Insurance Claims Feature
- this feature is setup in case the user ever has to make an insurance claim and helps setup all the data into documentation for insurance companies in case of a claim.

- it helps walk the user through all the steps needed and helps organize the data needed
- store police reports, damage photos, documentation etc
- save store claim reports
- setup time sensitive reminders for the claim process

My US General didn't have a power drawer so I made my own a few years ago by drilling a hole out the back of the drawer and box, worked pretty well for what I needed. Yesterday decided to finally bolt my chargers to the drawer.

Its actually pretty solid.

Any of you guys happen to have tool grid STL for wrenches that are labeled?

Not the end of the world, but would be nice to have labeled wrench holders for tool grid.

Been searching, high loyal, and have been striking out for whatever reason

I’m looking at getting a dual monitor setup for my toolbox but in the field of work I’m doing I’m not always around an outlet so I was curious if anyone has done similar setup. I have a laptop that I’d be plugging into the monitors

QUESTION Toolbox Search

Hey everyone, I could use all the help I can get. One of my closest friends recently lost his ratchet that he’s had for well over 10+ years. It meant everything to him, and there’s no chance of finding it.

I would like to try and find the exact one if possible, I have photos of the tool box with everything else in it, it’s a very old Kincrome lok-on set. Going into their history, they don’t seem to show it at all.

He said it was Stainless steel mixed with iron instead of the new types? I’m useless with tools. The toolbox is also different to newer types, and I can ask for more details if needed. I want to at least try all I can, thank you

QUESTION Support Harness?

So my metal toolbox is a bit heavy (65ish lbs total, Kennedy 1022). As of now the handle seems to be holding up but was thinking if there was a way to perhaps support it a bit with supplemental straps? The idea was something like a couple straps that wrap around the bottom and you just grab them up top if that makes sense. Could even do this with one large loop? This way the weight is being supported by the bottom instead of teh handle on top and 4 rivets (more worried the sheet metal will bend than the handle breaking)

Has anybody done anything like this? How? Do premade systems exist that are better?

I placed two 1/4" thick metal beams under adding height and removed the center casters for improved mobility. I also added a push handle and 3d printed gridfinity tool organizers.

Toolbox on top of washer/dryer

I want to put this 42x21” US General top chest on this 52x28” butcher block on top of my laundry machines in the garage. Would replace my 42” roll cab to give me back some floor space and stop me from shimmying past my car to get to the toolbox. From my research the weight capacity of the washer is 150–200 lbs and the dryer is ~50 lbs. does this sound right? The top chest weighs about 150-200 lbs empty, and would be loaded with a bunch of hand tools and some power tools. Anyone done something similar?

Need help figuring out my box

So I got this 26 in toolbox from my local tool store a while ago and my plan was to use it as my "do it all" box as i'm a part time mobile mechanic, however i'm facing 2 dilemmas here. For once, I have no clue how to properly organize it, mainly my sockets. It feels very messy and I would like some magnetic rails but I can't seem to find any good ones. Second, I'm starting to think the box is a bit to big for mobile work, as I have to carry it to and from my garage to my car when loading / unloading, and I don't feel like I need all the space. So my 2 questions are; should i downsize to smth like a 20in box, and how do i properly organize my tools? Any tips and tricks? Fyi the box has 4 drawers and an opening top, the bottom one being slightly deeper than the rest.
Thanks in advance
