I usually play Darius and every Singed I come across feeds their ass off and does nothing for their team the entire game. I know it is a bad matchup (idk why they would ban anything else tbh) but it's also accompanied by crying in chat half the time too even when they voluntarily pick this shit.

I play a lot of Dr. Mundo and he's my blind pick choice, but there are matchups like illaoi, gwen, or tryndamere that make the laning phase completely unplayable and leave me useless late game. I want to find a character that is a good pick against Dr. Mundo's counters that actually scales well into late game without a huge fall off. I have played a lot of Gwen, but have also tried Sett, Renekton, and Kled. Any other recommendations?

hy, i am trying to do him top lane, i really like the early game damage but he becomes obsolete in late game, with this build i can fight just fine do good damage and be very hard to kill. but still dont know a last item, i tried titanic and triforce but both feels bad, any recomendations?

Hello fellow top laners. I am slowly losing my mind in both this role and soloq. I could really use some advice and others' perspectives. All of my frustrations and struggles in this game can be summarised into two words, which simply is: NO AGENCY.

And I would appreciate to see if you share my experience or not. I am currently in emerald 4 and mainly play as an illaoi otp with some exceptions depending on draft and team composition.

The struggles with top already starts in the draft, counterpicking and matchup has a huge impact on the result and your performance in top lane. 50 % of your games will already be at a big disadvantage for this reason or in some kind of stale mate where both players just clear waves and hope they have the better team, a conflip.
Also regarding draft, every lane and champ is a flexpick now so you have to mostly guess what your matchup is, which makes it even more frustrating.

Dragons and early objectives is also a huge porblem with top lane, you simply can't join any important fight during the laning phase or you have to drop a whole turret and several waves. So you are kind of stuck in the lane without any real agency while you hope your team come out better than your opponents. And unfortunately most games a somewhat decided before the laning phase have ended. I don't know how many games I have lost to no dragons or objectives secured.

But what infuriates me the most lately is just how much gold that is distributed in bot/mid in compaison to top lane. A complete stomp in top is like 3 platings and 2 kills, with being 30 cs up; that is a good result. Most of my matchups are with top laners that know their champ and know the lane well, so they and me included know how to mitigate the loss in lane if that happens. MEANWHILE in bot there usually is like 20 kills. the gold income is huge in comparison. It is common for adc in the enemy team to be 3 levels behind me and have a 2 complete items advantage over me. And once again top laners simply can't compete in agency when mid and bot have so much gold distributed to them. The constant fighting around mid/bot just makes top lane obsolete, they are forcing the game to be around them and simply donät give top a chance to carry a game.

Soloq as a concept is also truly getting on my nerves, I thought that the game quality would improve as I climb higher but I am speechless and baffled over how bad the game quality is in emerald. Players refuse to actually play the game and constantly start these random fights for no reason, I call them Aram players for that reason. The amount of players that just ignore objectives, start random fights 2 v 5 in enemy jungle without any vision 40 sec before an important objective, never apply any pressure on the map etc etc. And not to mention the amount of lvl 30 accounts, or players who first time a champion in ranked, or start flaming and write in allchat as soon 1 mistake happen. It never ends. At what rank does the game quality actually improve? At what point does players have an understanding of the game and play as a team?
My current games in emerald might as well be in gold, I feel no difference at all.

At this point ranked doesn't feel skilled at all, every game is just a dice roll or coin flip for me without much agency. And every game loss is just another hour wasted in order to hopefully get back to where I was. That is how it fells unfortunately, 1 out of maybe 10 games have a good flow and are enjoyable. I had as a goal to reach master but at this point I'm considering to actually drop soloq and just find a team instead and play like once weekly together as intented in a team game designed for 5 people.

Do you have similar struggles?
I could use some others' perspectives or maybe some solid advice on how to actually have agency and truly climb in top. Because as it is now I need hundreds upon hundreds of game to get anywhere with probably a 51% winrate total. It simply takes forever and in never feels like it is within my control.

It's legit only built by like 5 champions in the game, offers no CDR and 3/4 of the champs that build it already have good wave clear. Failing to understand why this item is so expensive?

I keep getting the blue side toplane and enemy toplane getting the last pick yet whenever i get the red side toplane my teammates almost never let me get the last pick, it started to get super annoying, back to back to back to back. How do you guys deal with that?

I've been stuck in master elo for a week and wanted to ask which are the best champions to get out of the elo (also for the jungle lane)

I usually win my lanes, like 70% of them. I can clearly see how much better I play the laning phase compared to the enemy toplaner most of the games. But after the laning phase, no matter how strong I am, I don't feel like I matter at all. I demoted from dia3 to plat1.

Most of the games I think I simply had an awful team and there is nothing I could do, but it mathematically isn't possible for my teams to be consistently be that bad; I must be doing something wrong.

My mains are Irelia, Morde and mundo, I sometimes pick other champs like renekton or malp if the matchup is really good, but I usually stick to the first 3 picks. I also play nasus a lot recently since hes op.

I recently played an irelia game where I was lvl 18 at almost min 20; I was 4v1ing and hardly dying after killing two. And we forced an obviously lose fight and then lost the game. I honestly don't know what I should do.

i'm gold 4, i like top lane. but im more consistent in carrying the game with mid and jungle. i get that learning matchup takes some time and cost some games. is it initially really does takes that much time tho? do i need more time or this role just something i cannot learn? is there something obvious that i did wrong?

I went against this guy in the top lane (I was pretty scared lol. I'm only 900 something LP). Their Heimer Jungle (yes, Heimer Jungle) came to gank and Rhaastie gets warped back by the minions lmao. I ended up winning the lane and then the game likely because of this.

Varus top with cleanse and barrier and experimental hextech rush.

90% of the Nasus try to stat check me at least once and find out they don't win once I cleanse the wither. I stand perfectly still and they still lose with ult on since lethal tempo is just stupid good.

Only problem is being gankable without flash, but even then barrier makes 2 v 1ing possible. Just winning a single gank and walking away with a double perma scares away the other jungler and you get a free lane.

Can you give me recommendations of the more unpopular or not traditional top lane champions. Things like akali, locke, fiddlesticks or aurora. I know how everyone feels against those champs top but I play them for fun not for rank. I otp yasuo top in ranked and it's not an advantageous top or one to be hated.

Akali is probably the most fun top lane champ I have ever played. Her playstyle is worse than a teemo

Ardent Censer, Face of the Mountain, BC stacking, none of it matches the level of rage this meta induces to a top laner right now, in this game's 16 years long run. It is genuinely so awful, supports are singlehandedly destroying any fun to be had in this game.
Where's the support going to level 1 gank my lane? From the triple bushes? From the river? Who knows, but I only have 1 ward and I have to spend it pre 00:35 else I risk face checking them. So the high odds of a top laner either being killed or forced to recall now just means 2 waves crashes into tower, enemy top laner gets to freeze and behold here comes the enemy support again to force you to sit outside of xp range, while they also force themselves outside of xp range, for as long as they see fit. You're level 1, they're level 1, enemy top is level 3 or 4 by now, you've got 0 progress to your role quest, and this menace of a role is going show up whenever they please because it costs them absolutely nothing with catchup xp.

But does top get any sort of catchup? Nah, if you're ran through and used properly, you're down 2-3 levels on your opponent, they can do whatever they wish now because you are never going to recover throughout the entire game. There is no fun to be had, from the first minute to the end of the game, you may as well have been playing mine sweeper the entire time, you'll have the same impact on the game. Awful. The meta blows, it's out of your control as a top laner, you're reliant on your own support playing the same way to match their support, and if they don't or if your bot lane locked in an adc over a mage, they can't even afford to do it.

The absolute peak of this circus I've experienced so far is their team's top and adc role swapping in lobby, locking in a safe lane with Ornn and then their support just goes top lane with their adc fully accepting their role quest is supposed to be at the other side of the map, and I literally cannot respond to that because my role quest is locked to top and my adc's to bot.

Long story short this champ deeply annoys me. I don't understand how he gets away with so much. Maybe it's because I'm playing Sett but I don't believe it's the only reason. I tend to play characters to understand their flaws. Darius has a ton of flaws I understand completely but despite that I can't afford a single mistake and he can, so my matchup is annoying and unfair

Which character has a good matchup against him and why ? Because I want to understand what I can do or at least consider a character to add in my pool since I decided to do a clean state and look at who could be added alongside Sett and Yone for me

So by correct macro, you push side lane, and what are you doing next depends on things like does enemy respond, is there obj, is there teamfight on mid and my question is when you take t2, do you push to t3(like palying same macro as on t2) or no cuz i think its so risky due to being so closer to base and more chance of getting banged from jg, and its hard to find opportunities for it due to enemies missing on map..and does it pay off cuz enemy can just take it much easier on one recall, so how you play macro in those later stages of the game

i have not played in 2 years and lately have been craving to play Volibear or Pantheon so much but i also realized how quickly this game often switches everything up how changes happen all too often with maps, items, patches etc that in a matter of a year or so you wouldn't even know what your looking at. for the past 2 years i've been drifting from from MMO'S and other genre's but when you have years upon years in a game like league it's really hard to let go and forget.

I really love my top laner ruining their lane and then forcing the fed mid or adc to match their bastard child. If you want to win, match the fucking laner and wait for us to come kill her when she splits.

P.S. I play mid and top equally, but this is ridiculous.
