RBC Background Check Wait Time

Last Friday, I finished my final interview of CSR in RBC, and I got the verbal offer about 30mins after I finished the interview. My HR told me I have to wait until they match me to a branch and then they will send me the email offer, and then I have to wait for the background check. After all these, I’m able to start to work. Does anybody know the estimate time of all these procedures?

DEPENDS..

If most of your residential and work history in the last 5-7 years is local (in Canada), it may take 2 weeks to do the check. If a lot of your identity is from overseas, it will take some time, depending on the other side, 3-6 weeks. If you lived in a High Trust society it's quick, if not then it gets murky and slow because they do more checks.

I recently started with rbc, my background check took 7 weeks.

That's wild. My son was offered a role in finance in a sensitive regulatory area and they checked everything (all his transcripts, confirmations of degrees, previous jobs, police check, personal investment accounts, credit rating, etc) and it took two weeks.

Confirmation of degree from university?

And depends on backlog

Mostly backlog, look at the rbc subreddit and it's the most common topic.

Yes and no, problem has existed for years and they haven't done anything to improve it.
