Experimentally disabling cross-posts

If this sucks we can revert it, but a lot of really garbage submissions are crossposts; it's easy to just make the same post here again if you actually care about what you're posting, anyway.

Willing to buy a Worry Brick set

Upvotes

Here is the product in case you dont know it: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/DELBBV_-h1E

Just wondering! What was your favorite childhood toy that just isn’t quite the same or nonexistent!

When I was a kid one Christmas I got a Jessie cowgirl hat from Toy Story. It had a HUGE floor length red yarn braid just like Jessie- wore that shit for WEEKS. I’ve never seen one in stores again/ princess wigs and headbands don’t seem to be as popular let alone good quality. I was hoping to see a huge return of okay hair/braids with Tangled ! But none of them were quite as good as my Jessie hat. I haven’t even seen that movie in years ! Little me loved her so much. What’s yours? Movie, show, toy, magazine, anything !

[TOMT] battery-powered magnetic racing toy from the 1990s/early 2000s – cylindrical can with two tiny cars from brazil

I’m trying to identify a toy my sister had when we were children, probably from the late 1990s or early 2000s.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of it, but I remember the toy very clearly.

It was a vertical cylindrical container, approximately the size of a Monster Energy can.
The body looked like can and had a paper/sticker wrap with a race track printed on it. The top was made of gray plastic and looked almost exactly like the top of a soda/energy drink can, including a fake-looking pull-tab/seal detail.

The top could be twisted/unscrewed slightly and removed, revealing a compartment where two small racing cars were stored.

The cars were:
- Very small
- Made mostly/all of plastic
- Probably Formula 1-style racing cars
- Different colors (I vaguely remember red and blue)
- Each car had a small magnet underneath

The toy was battery powered.
When you turned it on, there was a mechanism/magnet inside the cylindrical can. The internal magnet connected magnetically to the magnet underneath the cars through the wall of the can.

The cars would then drive around the outside of the cylinder, following the race track printed on the sticker.
The two cars did NOT drive side-by-side. One followed the other, like they were racing around the track.

I believe it was bought in Brazil, so it may have been an imported toy or a toy sold under a different name/brand in different countries.

Rough sketch from memory

hello I need help

Hello! So, in between the years 2010-2015 I had a little playhouse like this, the problem is I can’t find it anywhere. The flower pot opened left and right and that was the house of the little doll that came with it, maximum 1 or 2 inches height, you could put the little doll on top of the flower, she had a hole on the bottom of her feet. If this information is helpful I don’t know if she was only sold in Romania or not, my drawing is exactly how the playhouse looked like, it was small and I must mention it is not polly pocket or some toy from the 80s-90s.

Avoid EE Distribution if you're a small toy/collectibles retailer

Posting this to hopefully save someone else from making the same mistake I did.

My experience with EE Distribution has been terrible. Nobody replies — emails, CCs, live chat, it doesn’t matter. When you have thousands of dollars tied up in orders you feel helpless.

Then come the shipping and additional fees. In my experience, they were so high that making a reasonable profit became almost impossible. I ended up losing a couple thousand dollars.

Before working with them, search Reddit and read other people's experiences with EE Distribution. Don't just take my word for it — do your own research.

There are much better alternatives out there. I wish somebody had warned me before I spent thousands with them. Hopefully this saves another small retailer some money and frustration.

There are 5 different little dogs, and each one has a funny and adorable poop pose!

They keep me company whenever I’m in the bathroom and somehow make the whole experience feel a lot less lonely.

A friend gave this to me as a gift and told me it was modeled using Hi3D and 3D printed

The details are really impressive and surprisingly lifelike.

I hope these little guys bring you as much comfort as they’ve brought me.

Hey all,

After finding this in an attic over a decade ago, I've been storing it ever since. However, now I need to move and can't bring it with me, and I'm unsure whether I've been protecting a rare collectable or keeping a cheap piece of plastic safe for no reason.

If you know anything about this or know anyone who would like to continue to keep it safe, please let me know!

Best,

Taco

Note for mods: I'm not looking for a price, just making sure I don't accidentally throw away a piece of history!

Please help me find this enclosed magnetic dress-up toy (possibly 80s/90s/early 2000s)

Post image

Hi! I've been trying to identify a childhood toy for years and I'm hoping someone here remembers it.

I was born in 2002, but the toy may have originally belonged to my older cousins, so it could be from the 1980s, 1990s or early 2000s.

It was a small, flat handheld magnetic dress-up toy, almost like a little tablet.

There was one girl permanently printed/fixed inside, and several actual loose clothing pieces were completely enclosed behind a clear plastic screen.

You could NOT open the toy or touch the clothes with your hands.

Instead, you used a magnetic pen/wand from outside the clear plastic to pick up the clothing pieces and move them onto the girl.

This was also a dexterity toy: the clothes could rotate or turn the wrong way, so you had to manipulate them with the magnetic pen until they were positioned correctly on her.

If you held the toy vertically or tilted it, all the loose clothing pieces would fall to the bottom of the enclosed screen.

I think the magnetic pen may have been attached to the toy with a cord/string, although I'm less certain about that detail.

I vaguely remember the plastic frame being turquoise/aqua, but the color could be a false memory.

The girl was NOT Barbie and not a princess. I remember her wearing relatively normal/fashionable clothes for the time.

IMPORTANT: It was NOT one of the common magnetic dress-up dolls where you remove the clothes from a box and place them on the doll by hand. The clothing pieces never came out of the toy. Everything was sealed behind the transparent plastic.

I've attached an AI recreation I made from memory. It is NOT a photo of the actual toy, but the mechanism, general size and layout are approximately what I remember.

Does anyone remember a toy like this, its manufacturer, or even another toy that used this exact mechanism?

Mimi Tape is a pocket MP4 player with a virtual pet, pixel scenes, and tiny games

I’m creating Mimi Tape, a small physical music and video player inspired by Japanese pocket gadgets and cassette culture. It plays local MP3 and MP4 files offline using swappable digital cassette cards. I also built in a little virtual pet, Snake, a rhythm-tap game, calming pixel scenes with water, fire and fish, and relaxing sounds.

It is real hardware, not a phone app, and the design and product are my own. I thought the combination of a music player, tactile cassette cards, and tiny toy-like features might appeal here.

The BackerKit pre-launch page is collecting followers who want to be notified when it launches:

This came in a secondhand play kitchen, and didn't have any accompanying dolls. Current guesses are a Pheonix, but I'd love to know where this is from!

UPDATE: SOLVED!
