Tracker Inactivity?
I have started my journey in private trackers recently and I have read that you have to remain active to remain in the tracker but what sort of inactivity policies are usually standard? So long as you seed you are considered 'active'? Or do you have to visit the site regularly etc?

Varies on the tracker. Some require logging in every 60-90 days, logging in every x days, downloading once every x days, active seeding, or a mix of logging in, downloading, etc.
Best thing to do is to familiarize yourself with the rules and write it down or just setup autobrr to grab something small once a month and have a bookmark folder with all your private trackers and take a minute to log into all of them quick once every few weeks.
Should also take a pic of your stats every now and then in case of unexpected shutdowns.

Neither of the two trackers I'm in have explicit inactivity policies in their rules so far as I can see.

What two trackers are you in? I'm in probably like 10 of them and they all have some kind of activity requirement.

99% sure TL does not. There's nothing in the rules and only mention of it in a forum question.

This is no login requirement for SP, but you are expected to keep seeding torrents. The entire tracker focus is on building a long term seedpool (thus the name), so you do yourself a disservice by not seeding as much as possible.
Though, as a new SP member, I'd highly recommend logging in regularly for the daily bonus, which is usually upload GB but can occasionally be something cool like freeleech tokens. Dailies can be found in the "Events" link at the top of the main page.
Not logged into TL on my phone, don't use it very often anymore unless I just can't find something on one of my others. So can't speak for sure as to what they require.
General good policy is to login to every tracker at least every 30 days, to be safe. I'm in a half dozen trackers, and seeding something + monthly login covers all requirements at every tracker I'm in I believe.

I made a personal spreadsheet for the trackers I'm in with their unique requirements, ie inactivity, min seed time, etc. For inactivity, i'd say something like 75% of them are extremely lenient, and ironically the lowest tier ones (or those I care the least about) have some of the most strict activity rules. Median is 90 days, some have seeding immunity (meaning you can seed OR visit, which is nice). Shortest I took note of without seeding immunity is 38 days (fuck .click trackers) and I wouldn't notice or care if I was disabled anyway.
Ultimately I just visit them all on the first day or so of each month so there's no issue. I have an automatic calendar task on my phone to remind me. I have each one bookmarked within a single folder and I just open them all with one click. Navigate to each tab, ensure I'm logged in, take a screenshot if I feel like it (I've stopped doing this) and move on to the next one. Takes a few minutes max.

each tracker has its own set of rules, and the MAIN advice you can get when you start the private tracker workd is.. always do read the rules. Every time. Don't assume a new tracker will have the same rules as the previous one.
And don't assume you'll be forgiven after you break them and claim "I didn't read them in the detail"

Most need you to log in to be considered active. It should be stated in the rules. Usual time for inactivity is 90 days, but varies.

Read the rules of each tracker. Most of them need you to login once a while even if you seed all the time. Once every 90 days is the norm.

What others said is normally correct - just log in once and a while a few caveats is
- user classes may prevent you from getting inactivity pruned, from what I found it was power user. And higher.
- the z family (avistaz, private hd, animez, etc) (assuming they all share the same rules) require you to download for activity to count as activity.

If you ever get into BHD, ensure you log in every month atleast once. They may not even give you a proper hearing after waiting for w.e time in the IRC, as their staff is utterly morbid and will send you away by stating frivolous reasons.

Logging in every so often seems to be the most common metric. Usually around 60 or 90 days. I think with UNIT3D based sites you can delay that if you're seeding something. The downside to that is the second you stop seeding your account will be disabled. That may not be as true these days as a lot of UNIT3D based sites have done a decent amount of modifications.
I've seen some sites require you to download something every so often also.

Most trackers only require you to log in at least once every 90 days. Others may have different inactivity deadlines or additional requirements, such as downloading something from time to time.
It really depends on the tracker. That's why, whenever I register on a tracker, I go straight to the rules and check its inactivity policy.

I’m pretty sure ‘active’ means you visit the tracker’s website. Inactivity period policies vary widely depending on the tryatlcker.

I had my PTP account disabled for inactivity way back when I first got it as at the time I had fairly slow broadband and was terrified to download anything for fear of messing up a ratio!
Luckily a few years and one seedbox later, I chanced my arm on the IRC to see if they'd re-activate it. Sent them proofs from some of the other sites I'm on and shockingly enough they re-activated me.

I think it was both.
Don’t know why I’m being downvoted. Guess it’s the tracker gatekeepers not approving of my actions. Have a ratio of over 100 on PTP now though.

This is going to depend on which tracker you’re talking about. Read the rules on each tracker you’re a member of.
