Tulsa History 1978 Caricature map of Tulsa

I bought this map at an estate sale and opened it brand new from the plastic today. I was very surprised to see it's from 1978. Pristine condition. I thought it might be from the last 20 years or so. Since it is so old, I was wondering if a museum or collector would like it more than me. Either way, it's awesome and wanted to share with the community.

I took some close up pics of some of my fav things and also some things I didn't recognize. I do not recognize the KELi building. Is this still around? Anyone know where it is/was located? Also, I did not visit the 44/51 exchange much as a kid. Is that what it looked like in the 70/80s? Was it a traffic circle? Hard to tell exactly what is going on in the pic.

Published by Caricature Maps, Inc in Kokomo, Indiana! Enjoy!

Question How is my energy use spiking when I’m not at home and the thermostat is set on a clock?

Upvotes

Like every Tulsa I’m watching my electric bill pretty obsessively these days. PSO app allows me to monitor usage on a quarter hourly basis.
I noticed that a single spike happens at different times about once every couple of days- twice the usage amount and then comes down immediately. Literally for example, from 4:00 to 4:15 PM then another day it might be 5:00 to 5:15 PM or 7:00 to 7:15 PM on a different days
when I’m not even at home, and nothing but the fridge and the air conditioning is on (set to 76°)
My thermostat is on a clock. It should remain the same throughout the day.
Why is that single spike happening?

Question Best places to get CDs for cheap?

Wanting to expand my CD collection. Mostly 70s/80s/90s and compilation discs (think Time Life). Any good music stores or places that have used CDs for relatively cheap?

Question Artist Rec?

Hi, can anyone recommend a local artist to do a small watercolor (8x10) and could deliver the work within 30 days? I know places like Etsy offer these survives, but I’d rather give business to someone local if possible.
what I want painted is the storefront of my family business with a small bit of street view, no people. Thanks for any tips or suggestions!

Tulsan In Need Full Service Engagement Photographer

I’m looking for a photographer in Tulsa that will take some engagement photos. I’ve already proposed (she said yes), and now looking to get some professional pictures taken. We don’t want to plan anything other than the clothes we are wearing and hoping there is a photographer that can help us out. Budget around $500.

This is a bit unusual and not sure it’s even allowed but my friends and I are looking for a Hard Rock insider or higher status that has access to presale ticket codes that may be able to provide a code for a presale that goes live tomorrow (9/2)?
