Feeling like giving up
Hi everyone
It’s been 4 months now that I’ve been looking for housing. Over 200 applications. My master starts in like two weeks and at this point I’ll be sleeping in a tent during my studies. I feel like my budget is reasonable (+\- €750), and that I sell myself decently well (23, lived with roommates for the last 6 years so very familiar with respecting shared spaces and keeping things clean etc) and yet I can’t find anything.
How do I continue? I know a lot of you must have had similar issues finding a place to live, but at this point I feel like giving up

At this point, start lowering your expectations in either proximity to the city/uni or room size. Look for smaller cities and villages close to Rotterdam. Your budget is quite reasonable for a room, and I think you've just been a bit unlucky. However, with the academic schoolyear around the corner, I'd take anything I can get my hands on if I were you

Thank you.
I’ve been searching for anything within a 2 hour train ride. My expectations are quite low haha. I’ll keep trying, thanks5

A two hour radius is quite a large distance. I have friends in Tilburg (about an hour by train) who have found rooms fairly quickly. I’m assuming you have already searched in these places but I’d think for 750€ you should be able to find something in places like Breda or even Dordrecht. Don’t give up!
