In California you must have a tcp license before insurance company will sell the driver comercial insurance. Platform like fare.coop would help simplify the transaction, making it cheaper and is way more transparent and leaves a larger portion of the rate to the driver. Plus drivers cannot be made a favorite driver for passenger to request for a ride.

You can't poach from Uber since they don't own the drivers or riders. Uber has said that the rider is the driver's client and that they just exist to introduce riders and drivers.

You have to recruit your own passengers. Flip your Uber and Lyft riders. Pass out flyer with the details to request you on fare coop for next ride.

Not a pyramid scheme. The take care of comercial insurance for rideshare rides. You only need commercial insurance if you are a black car service on their platform. They don't do advertising. This works best if you recruit your own passengers. I flipped all my private CASH rides to Fare and I recruit good quality riders away from Lyft and Uber. I do not recruit crumb bums. If the passenger look like quality riders then I will try to recruit them to Fare CO-OP. The fare to passenger is usually 10-20% cheaper than Uber or Lyft

Uber and Lyft are both responsible for this behavior because they ScrUber and Gryft drivers by not paying them their fair share. You need to know that they cheat riders by over charging you and cheat drivers by underpaying them. I do not agree with what that driver did. He should have asked up front before starting the ride about how much you agreed to pay uber and then negotiate with you.
